  1. surprising! yeah, but not great. I did grab it to just feel the wait, but they aren't that heavy so my guess is that there are know rocks in these ones.
  2. to be honest I really hate the back plate on those, other than that I do like the design
  3. so my brother bought some speakers from my dad (my dad kinda gets free stuff from his clients) for like 75 bucks, and we were watching a movie (Edge of Tomorrow) and as were watching something just kept scratching at the back of my mind "You know the bass is nice, and punchy, and the mids are okay, but for a supposedly $1400 speaker system I would expect more...", but I put it off and enjoyed the rest of the movie, but again it was bothering and I decided to google "Mclaren BLU-3". Suddenly! load, behold, article after article of how these speakers are a scam! So this is the moral decision I have to make, should I... 1. tell him they are a scam product, even though he is happy (I mean they do sound MILES better then is shit TV speakers!) 2. leave it be and let him enjoy bliss, but have a higher risk of him buying from this scamming manufacturer again...
  4. okay thanks, just wanted to make sure it wasn't a harbinger to something worse (have to protect my investment!)
  5. okay so when I hit my power button my case lights will turn on then my PC shuts down almost immediately after, then almost like clockwork in about 5secs my PC starts up normally, and will boot. This started occurring after I fiddled with the BIOS setting so I could overclock my CPU (will do it even when not overclocked) so any theories?
  6. why are people so worried about bottlenecks? with a modern CPU it is really hard to create a bottle neck! Jayztwocents made a video on hard it is to bottleneck a GPU http://youtu.be/DAgpvWc4VBM
  7. them leaving packages on the porch is my biggest complaint, but I don't live in a bad area so it isn't a big issue, plus there is almost always someone home. For condition the worst I have ever received a box from UPS is a little dusty.
  8. you show me this while my new GPU is being sent to me via FedEx...
  9. the nearest micrcenter to me is in Detroit... yeah, I don't have a death wish...
  10. same story here I have had my packages fall off the grid for me with them!
  11. So my graphics card RMA went through and they are sending it to me, so YAY! but as I read I saw "if you want to track you package use the FedEx tracking #" then I thought "Well if I'm lucky I will get this before I'm 40!" (for context I'm 18) I swear FedEx takes the most drawn out paths to deliver packages I have ever seen... for example when I ordered my 7950 from newegg who has the warehouse in my region based is in Tennessee, and UPS (my favorite Courier) advertise 4-5 and deliver it to me by morning of day 3 by going almost straight to Michigan (state in which I live). FedEx on the other hand will not go straight to Michigan, but you may say "well they have to vary their route a little to make other deliveries!" well yeah, except they go all the way the Missouri! Not even in my direction then come back! and will advertise 4-5 and instead take 6-7! So besides my little rant which courier company is your favorite for moving PC hardware, and for what reasons?
  12. Command&Conquer Red Alert 2 oh, those windhelm screams still kiss my dreams at night.
  13. when you are in this budget every dollar counts, and the new steam rollers are about 10% faster then the piledrivers, so I still stand by athlon x4 860k, plus the FM2+ I am pretty sure that it is going to have a long life span.
  14. later in the video he tests it with a GTX 780
  15. here just to show you what I mean (older version without the new architecture, but still a good expample)
  16. the i3 I have seen beat the athlon in video rendering and single core performance, but the moment you through in 4 cores the 860k eats the i3's lunch from what I have seen in the benchmarks
  17. I gave the i3 a thinking over, but it will lag behind in everyday use, and multicore gaming, and on the core 1000, it can't handle larger GPUs while the N200 (a case I built in before) can handle very long GPUs
  18. he will play anything from jRPGs to RTS to FPS
  19. cool I didn't spot that one, and that is why I did this!
  20. So my brother has been talking about doing a complete redo of his PC (it has been down for years!) and he will probably buy the stuff cyber monday. On my free time I have been working on the plans for him (again his PC has been out of service for years, and he has fallen out of practice). He has a few things from his old PC he can use (blu-ray drive, HDD) here is what I have made up currently http://pcpartpicker.com/user/jakenator96/saved/pdxxFT PS remember when RAM was one of the cheapest things in your build!
  21. well I didn't pay for them (spare parts from my brother's PC)
  22. yep, I just called it quits and reconnected my old fan, it may suck, but at least it isn't super loud
