  1. Stock cooler that bud Does a single 980Ti out preform two 780Tis?
  2. So, I've had my computer around two years now, building it up as time went on and buying whatever was new at the time of purchase and making it as best as it can be at what I seem to feel is a good price, however the time has come to upgrade my GPU again and my question to you is, should I jump to the newest generation of GPU and jump on a single 980Ti or should I stick another 780Ti in my PC and have 2x780Ti?
  3. I suggest you run a pingtest. Just the ping it's self is a little factor in streaming, gaming, etc. What's your packetloss and jitter like?
  4. alright? When accessing my remote IP address whilst inside the network the EE BrightBox router seems to be ignoring DMZ rules and serving up the administration panel, however while outside the network, the request successfully goes through to the DMZ'd host. Is there any way to disable this functionality so that the DMZ rules are always followed? This functionality is breaking PleXBMC while inside my network. Thanks
  5. Yeah, only found out about the refresh rate overclock a couple of days ago, I've had my resolution at 1440p for a couple of weeks now thanks to Linus' downsampling video, you should try it out - I've really noticed the difference ingame. Yeah, planning on overclocking my GPU soon enough, I'm really not patient enough to do it! I'm currently using the stock Intel cooler, planning on going under water or Hyper 212 Evo, whichever I can be bothered doing when it comes to it. I have been shopping round for an SSD recently, I'll look into them 840 EVOs, they look good, thanks for the suggestion! Looking into it, I'm not really sure what's underclocked my memory, I'll fix that
  6. Ah right, thanks. I thought it was something like that, next time I'm VPN'd in I'll run uptime on the router, to see the load. I have 3 routers because the bgp router is in a different room to the server router, which is in a different room to the workstation router so I'm using them as Wi-Fi receivers since I haven't wired up my house yet and also to split up the subnets
  7. 1. what IP are you giving your friends? Is it a loopback address or a local address of some sort? 2. what launch arguments are you using? 3. did you let the traffic through your local firewall? I suggest throwing your server on DMZ while testing. Low-end router's portforwarding isn't very good.
  8. Here's my awesomely drawn network topology: Now I know I'm getting held back on network speeds by the Wireless but that's the least of my worries at the moment, I've not wired up my house yet but it is planned and getting worked on. My connection from my workstation to the server is getting capped at 1.1Mb with no fluctuations somewhere along the line I'm VPNed to the TL-WR1043ND through the local network (the servers have their own subnet separate to my computers). The computers (and my workstation) are on 10.0.1.0/24 and the servers are on 10.10.0.0/24. All of the routers are running DD-WRT. Whilst on the VPN, the ping time to the BGP router is about 51ms from my workstation However, the ping from the server to the BGP router doesn't even reach 10ms. Ping from workstation to BGP router without VPN: Speedtest from the server: Speedtest from my workstation on VPN: Speedtest from my workstation without VPN: Is there some sort of cap on DD-WRT's VPN throughput? Just reply if you need any more information and thanks for any help.
  9. Yeah, I was planning on adding one sooner or later but trying to hold off until the prices come down or something. I occasionally use the upper-end of 20GBs of ram when rendering with After Effects
  10. Things to do New CPU cooler Possibly a watercooling loop? never done this before so i guess it would make a good build log, not sure New case at the moment everything is cramped into a tiny case and it looks like spaghetti Overclocks CPU is clocked at 4.2Ghz Graphics Card at OC preset Monitor at 2560x1440 (1080p native) and 77Hz (60Hz native) Link to parts: Power Supply CPU Motherboard Monitor Graphics Card HDD - really wouldn't recommend Memory Notes I went with an i7 3770 at the time because it was about £30 cheaper than an i7 3770k and the other generations weren't out at the time. When the time comes to upgrade (next year sometime?) I'll be going with an extreme series CPU.

  12. Hi there, I'm using a D-Link DIR615 router flashed with DD-WRT acting as a client to my EE Bright Box (maybe switch it out for my WR1043ND?). The Bright Box is downstairs whereas the DIR615 is upstairs with my computer, I've got a CAT5 lead running from my DIR615 to my computer to give my computer access to the internet. I get a 23ms ping with this setup as shown in this image: I'd like to lower my ping if possible. Would switching out the Bright Box for my WR1043ND help? Would switching out my DIR615 for a PCI wireless card help (or maybe even the WR1043ND)? I'd like to switch out my DIR615 so I can actually use 5Ghz dual-band capabilities. What would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
  13. Thanks for the recommendations everyone
  14. It's not a bitcoin mining boom at the moment, as far as I'm aware it's litecoin mining. Bitcoin value is dropping:
