  1. I have an overlord tempest monitor overclocked. I believe it's pretty much what you have. 1440p, overclocked, IPS and one input. I bought an Asus pg279, which is the same panel as the Acer and ended up returning it. They were very close in image quality. If you get the Acer make sure you get it from somewhere with a good return policy, because I say it's not worth the 350 dollar upgrade IF your catleap overclocks well.
  2. Get the 27 inch. Are you set on a TN panel ? IPS is much nicer. The quantum dot VA samsungs are really nice as well.
  3. I think if you can't get an OLED the Sony is the way to go. My reason, android TV.
  4. I have an overlord tempest IPS that is clocked at 110hz, no gsync. I got a good deal on a dell 2716 144hz gsync tn panel that I ended up returning. I didn't really notice a difference with gsync on, maybe I'm blind lol, who knows. Then I bought a Samsung C32HG70 quantum dot VA panel. 1440p and 144hz, VA panel, beautiful monitor. Best colors I have ever seen on a pc monitor. Ended up returning it due to a dead pixel, am going to buy another one.
  5. I bought the Dell to replace my Overlord tempest about 3 weeks ago. I run my overlord monitor at 115hz. The Dell was real smooth playing games, but I couldn't stand it browsing the web and doing other tasks on it, so it went back. The IPS is worth the extra cash IMO.
  6. 38, I'm an operations foreman on the docks. I make a good living and love to buy new toys. My current gaming PC is... Asus Z370-E gaming mobo with an 8700K. Cooled by a thermalright 3.0 360 rad. 16GB DDR 3200mhz and an EVGA GTX 1080TI SC2 all stuffed into a Corsair 900D and a 1200 watt corsair power supply (ran sli on old system). My laptop is a clevo build with a 7820HK, gtx 1070, 16gb ram and a 120hz screen.
  7. It is and it isn't. It really depends on what your gear is. If you have an inexpensive DAC you probably won't notice. When you get into some serious gear though, you will know when a high res 24 bit file is being played.
  8. White noise is when you can hear a very low hiss sound that gets louder as you turn up the volume. It may not be noticed when you are playing music or gaming etc. If it's more like a buzzing sound it's most likely a ground loop. Turn your amp on and look at your tubes as well, I've had a few tubes red plate on me. That amp only has 2 tubes, rolling will be cheap!
  9. Do you have any other tubes you can roll into the amp ? If you are using cheap tubes that could be the issue.
