  1. i should've clarified I meant base your budget off of what type of budget you would use those parts with, sorry i said it a little bad. But do you think it's a good idea to use 3600 over 2600
  2. well he followed a video that says $700 PC but I'd say just judge the budget based off of the parts i've provided so far.
  3. he definitely doesn't need 32gb ram nearly all gamers can do great with 16Gb, I just felt proud cause I felt like a teacher :), although I probably shouldn't have included that in the post it must've confused people. I attached a list of what's currently picked.
  4. no he's getting everything from amazon, I also recommended newegg so he might use that too. If he finds stuff around him he'll get it there but it's mostly from amazon and newegg.
  5. Budget (including currency): somewhat lower end Country: Kid is in Saudi Arabia but I'm in the US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Fortnite, Rocket League, Call of Duty Warzone, Civilization VI, and Minecraft Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Everything will be bought from newegg and amazon Basically I'm helping a family friend currently living in Saudi Arabia build his first PC and he sent me a list that he took from a YouTube video and altered. He upgraded the ram from 16GB to 32GB but I taught him about how almost never how to change your RAM amount and you usually just change speed and I already feel like a proud teacher passing down my knowledge. I took his list and made a few adjustments and was hoping you guys could take a look and tell me what would be the best to change or whatnot. I also don't know much about Ryzen so I really don't know if his CPU pick is good (in the youtube vid it was the Ryzen 5 2600 which he changed to the Ryzen 5 3600) so I was also relying on you guys for that choice. I left the PSU and case choice blank cause that can be easily filled if you guys have a usually recommendation for 500w PSUs or something. He also picked some fans called upHere 120mm LED Fans but they don't look too good and kinda of random off brand so I was wondering if you guys could give me a good fan recommendation. The budget is also probably around the price of the parts listed already. This is the current list: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor $167.00 @ Amazon Motherboard Gigabyte B450M DS3H Micro ATX AM4 Motherboard $72.99 @ Best Buy Memory G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory $72.99 @ Newegg Storage Western Digital Blue 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $64.98 @ Amazon Storage Seagate Barracuda Compute 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $58.85 @ Amazon Video Card Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 6 GB OC Video Card $229.99 @ Newegg Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $666.80 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-05-28 17:59 EDT-0400 All help is much appreciated
  6. well the one I have in the link is the 3300X which is only $20 more than your recommended 3100, is there anything you would recommend as a cheaper option? and the GPU I used was the same option you put in your list, are there any good cheaper choices?

  8. @WambleCropped@Fasauceome What models of the RX 570 do you recommend? since it's a reference card
  9. when will it be able for purchase on amazon or newegg?
  10. I can't find the 3300X for sale anywhere, is it super new or something?
  11. PC Part picker is saying that "Some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs" I've never done BIOS flashes, do I need another CPU for it something or is it easy to do.
  12. Budget (including currency): $300 to $500 USD Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Minecraft, Portal, American Truck Simulator, GTA V, Assassin's Creed, Bioshock, and maybe Rainbow Six Siege Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Already have plenty of case fans My friend wants to build a PC to start PC gaming but he doesn't have a lot to spend so he wants to buy a whole setup between $300 and $500 but the lower the better. I know a lot about PCs but I never know what're the best parts for budget PCs so I came here for help. I already have a lot of extra Corsair SP120 High Performance edition fans I can give him but the rest he's gonna need to buy. He's wants to get a PC, keyboard, and monitor (he has a cheap bluetooth mouse he can use for now). I already found a really good 1080p 60Hz monitor with built in speakers for $100 but also want your opinions on it. I also have a 2TB HDD for $55 picked out that can be reused for any future PCs which I personally think is a great choice, the Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM. Any part suggestions would be a great help.
  13. I was only considering liquid metal cause I thought it might be safe on a GPU, as for GPU thermal pads, can you link me some because I've been having trouble finding any at all whenever I search for them. thanks
  14. So I'm removing the water block off of my GTX 1080 Ti and re-installing the air cooler and I need some thermal Pads. What're the best thermal pads to use for this case. And should I use liquid metal on the big main part of the GPU where you normally put thermal paste.
  15. So I'm turning my water cooled build into an air cooled build and was making a bunch of aesthetic changes and was wondering if you guys could help me out with something. I want to get a white or RGB backplate to go on my EVGA 1080 Ti FTW3 graphics card that attaches with screws (not magnets) and was wondering what would be the best site to get it from. All help is much appreciated :).
  16. @dalekphalm @HOOTSMON Could you guys help me out with this
  17. I'm gonna be ripping out all my watercooling and moving my PC into another case for air cooling and I want some suggestions for airflow config. I'm going to be using the Lian Li O11 Dynamic and I know that I'm definitely going to have 3 intake on the bottom and 3 exhaust on the top, but I'm not sure about the side setup. So at first I was going to have a 360 AIO on the side and pull intake but I realized that my LL120 fans will be facing away which I don't want because the fans in that position are the most visible. Instead I'm deciding to do AIO and push exhaust on the side so that I could still have the AIO on the side and show the nice side of the fans. In THIS part of HardwareCanucks' "9 fans in O11 Dynamic" video, the difference between using exhaust and intake for the side AIO isn't much of a difference so I think this will be okay. Also, since the bottom fans of the case will be blowing straight into the GPU, would it be a smart decision to vertical mount the GPU so that the air could get past? Basically I want to know if my fan config idea is a good setup, and if vertical mounting would be a good idea here. All help is much appreciated :).
  18. what use cases would benefit from which drives? and how does the wd_black compare to the samsung drives? lastly, which would be the best for gaming and vr games? thanks for again for all the clarification
  19. so 970 is the newer line of samsung m.2, and what's the difference between the pro, evo, and plus? Thanks for the quick reply
  20. So I was browsing SSD options for a PC upgrade that I'm planning for this December and I realized that there are so many Samsung NVMe M.2 drive models with varying prices but I'm not sure what're the differences with all of them and I'm not sure how to find out what's best for me. Drives: Currently have - Samsung 960 Pro 512GB for OS, software, some files in Documents and Downloads, and a few important games. - Seagate BarraCuda Pro 7200RPM 4TB for everything else (mostly games). - Toshiba 7200RPM 1TB 2.5" that I got from my old Alienware laptop for storing movies and tv shows for Plex streaming. 1) I want to get another NVMe M.2 drive most likely from Samsung and I want to know the difference between the - Samsung 960 Pro - Samsung 970 Pro - Samsung 960 Evo - Samsung 970 Evo - Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2) where the WD_BLACK SN750 NVMe SSD stands 3) a good M.2 heatsink All help is appreciated :).
  21. i like tempered glass but it's just a little too much. Also shouldn't I put fans on the front, also since the gpu blows down EDIT: I keep using also and bad grammar cause im too lazy to formulate my thoughts lol, I don't actuall speak like that
