What board do you have?  Could be running at 3.0 gen PCIe.  I think it was only the 5xx boards that had pcie 4.0

Yes. It's running at pcie 3 8x but I don't get why I would get lower fps than those youtube videos with the same specs.

  2. Hey guys,

I got an RX 6600. upgraded from gtx 1660, hoping to get a bit more fps in my games.

But after installing the card, I immediately noticed stutters. When I checked the gpu usage, I saw it hovering around 70-80% and sometimes dropping below 50 (as low as 0%). I checked a lot of benchmark videos and PCs with slower CPUs have higher fps/scores. I am running an R5 3600 without overclock, but SAM enabled.

Some games are using a lot more CPU than they should (also seen from those videos). I used to get stable 60 fps on high settings in most games (rarely dropped to 50s) using the gtx 1660. but now I feel like I downgraded my gpu since I am getting lower fps in the same settings. However, I noticed that I do get normal gpu usage in rare cases and I get normal fps at that time. Often right after booting in to windows. But most of the time, it's bad. I'm going crazy here. I can't find a single solution. The only "fix" is to remove cpu bottleneck, but I don't see why my pc would be a special case specially considering I used to get better performance from a gpu that should be slower.

My temps are fine; below 80C. Power usage fluctuates with gpu usage.

    I tried these:

    1. DDU all gpu drivers

    2. delete cache

    3. Uninstalling afterburners

    Rx 6600

    16gb 2666mhx DDR4

    Windows 11

  3. My cousin's PC just got an SSD and it was working fine before. But then he said his display started showing some white lines. So he took it to the service center and it was fine there.

When he got it back home there was these weird lines on the screen. I can see the background moving, cursor moving, and even the wallpaper. I will attach a picture. The bios screen works fine. Everything seems fine. This happens only when booting to windows. I thought there was a problem with the VGA cable (yes VGA). But it works with another PC. He took the pc back to the service center and it worked fine there too!

Do I have to reinstall windows? Is there anything I can try?

  4. I updated to win11 yesterday and the pc ran fine for the day. Today I installed some mobo utility software (Rgb fusion 2, app center etc) the pc was running fine I was watching a YouTube video and then suddenly there was a loud sound from the speakers, my mouse froze and after 2secs my display was gone I had to press the reset button on my case.

When it restarted thee same thing happened 20-30s after booting into windows. It kept happening like 3-4times so I tried going to recovery options quickly after booting Cuz I knew it would crash again. But when I clicked restart from recovery options, the pc restarted but game me process1_initialization_failed error code.

It restarted itself and booted to windows instead of going to recovery screen. I did the same thing again, no difference.

I tried to fake crash the pc by shutting down 3 times right after starting windows screen. It just said "auto diagnose running" and gave the same process1 error.

I tried sfc /scannow, but it takes a long time and my pc crashes within 30 seconds.

I don't know if it was the softwares, I tried to Uninstall them I even deleted 2 out of 3. I couldn't Uninstall app center because it takes too long.

But I don't think these apps were even running when I attempted to fake restart the pc and go to recovery.

    I can't run any diagnosis

Is there any way I can repair without resetting back to windows 10? Is there any way to know what even is the problem?

I don't know if this is due to windows 11 beta stage but I haven't seen this problem happening to many people in win11.

    ----A little update----

I did get to win11 for a while. I ran sfc /scannow during that time, ran disk check on C drive it didn't crash this time for some reason, I deleted app center (except one file of it since it keeps saying something else is using that service idk what)

I tried to get to recovery mode again from settings>recovery settings>restart pc but then pc restarts and shows me the same process1 bsod error. For now the pc seems to be a little stable; I can browse without crashing yet. Dunno how long it's gonna stay like this.

you could try updating your motherboard bios if you haven't done already.

Looks like it was a bad CPU. I changed everything except the cpu and got the error. So then I decided to try another cpu. And the problem is gone. Looks like this specific model is causing the same issues for a lot of people on the internet.

let us know when the second test is complete

Yeah it crashed again. But only when I tried to run Valorant and watchdogs 2. I can browse the internet, run superposition benchmark, play music, etc.

I am currently trying out an nvidia driver from march 19 to see if compatibility has anything to do with it.

download ddu and ddu the audio drivers and redownload and reinstall them.

I did and uninstalled Realtek doesn't seem to do anything. I even uninstalled and reinstalled nvidia driver. nothing. Could the problem be in the mobo? It's completely new though.

    I can't find any solution.

Last night I ran some GPU benchmarks to see if there was a problem with the display drivers. Test ran fine without crashes, but games still keep crashing.

also run the system with only a single stick of ram , see if it stabilizes with just one stick in it

So I took out one stick 8gb, still crashed. So i swapped them. And currently testing. Btw, I have a feeling it's not the ram...because I did run some RAM tests using the built in ram tester

  9. I upgraded my CPU from a 7600k to an R5 3600 yesterday. Only upgraded the CPU+mobo, nothing else. And since I was having some problems before, I thought it was better to reinstall windows at the same time. So, I did it. But now I am having BSOD errors continuously. I did not OC anything. At first, I thought my RAM was unstable seeing some of the googled results, so I underclocked from 2400mhz to 2133. Then I tried windows manager to update all my drivers, it says everything is up-to-date.

Now, some things I noticed are, the problem never occurred when I'm just browsing my PC, it only happened when I run something that outputs audio. (I could be wrong). I tried CPU+RAM+GPU stress tests. The test ran for 2hrs without any problems. But when I play music in groove music or AC odyssey, it crashed within 5-6 minutes. I tried completely uninstalling the Realtek driver, but couldn't.

    notes:

    1. I had a few audio issues, so I downloaded Realtek drivers from google. Before that, I did play Valorant for an hour. But the audio issue was actually my fault, and I did not need the drivers.

    2. I have been writing this on my PC, and it hasn't crashed in the last 10mins.

    3. I tried audio tests (although for short periods)

    4. A few times I saw it crash literally 2 seconds after I launch something that uses audio. That includes a video, youtube, music, games.

    5. It never crashed during a stress test.

some of the messages I get are,

    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    KERNEL_security_check_failure

    PFN_list_corrupt

I have googled them, and it seems that I have one of these issues; driver incompatible, RAM issue, etc. Can someone please help me?

    Specs: R5 3600

    Gigabyte B450MH

    1*4Gb DDR4+1*8GbDDR4 both at 2133Mhz

    GTX 1660 OC Ventus

Windows 10 Pro version 1903 (Version 20xx) isn't available yet for some reason)

Edit: Finally fixed it by changing the CPU. I claimed warranty and they replaced it with another 3600. Seems like many R5 3600s are doing the same thing. If anybody else is having this problem with 300, it might be the cpu itself.

another logitech mouse with stuttery issue hmm...

third case i've seen this week, 4 if you include me (though mine might be shotty wireless connection)

i remember seeing a thread that suggest tweaking system interrupt something something to solve this issue, though i cant remember the thread name.

Actually I had this problem with my last mouse too. One of the reason I changed my mouse was because I thought the problem is with the mouse. But now I don't think that was the issue.

  11. I don't know how to accurately explain the problem, but here it is.

My mouse works perfectly when I'm doing normal work. But when I'm playing fps games, it stops working a lot. Like, when I move my mouse, the camera moves, but it is very laggy (Don't know if this is the correct word). Sometimes the problem is just noticeable. Sometimes it's extremely annoying. Other times it works fine.

It's like, I'm moving my mouse, but the camera is moving and the stops moving, and then moves again, it stops for like fraction of a second, every few seconds. Sometimes the camera jumps from one place to another even when I'm moving my mouse very slowly. I can't shoot like this.

I tried changing DPI settings, I thought it was driver issue, so I reinstalled windows, then I even got a new mouse (Logitech G102 Prodigy). The new mouse was working fine for a few days. But I just started having this problem again. It happens in almost all first-person games. AC, Valorant, COD etc. I even tried updating mouse driver. But I have the latest drivers. I've been having this problem for a long time now.

  12. I have been using a 256gb SSD as boot drive for a while along with a 1TB HDD from Toshiba. But today I decided to get another 1TB HDD to increase my storage. But when I connected everything, my pc kept giving me "No windows" error (Google It). All 3 drives are visible in BIOS. Then I pulled out the sata cables from my hard drives and my pc ran fine (except now I only have 256GB SSD storage). I checked my BIOS settings to prioritize the ssd as boot drive. But I don't see the option there. I don't know which one to choose. I'll attach a pic with all the options. There are only HDD options, but no ssd option.

why? ryzen does not have a big headroom for that anyways.

get a 3300x which should be cheaper, and actually better in some cases. or wait for zen 3 (i would do that if i were you.).

You really think I would get better performance from 3300x than 7600k? Would it be better than 2600? How much improvement can I expect? The thing is, when a new CPU launches, they usually cost higher here in my country. So I'm not entirely sure about Ryzen 4000. But hopefully, price of the older CPUs may come down. I'm not sure which way to go.

  14. I have been using core i5 7600k clocked to 4.6Ghz for 3 years. But seeing that 4 cores are not always enough to deliver good frames, I have decided to upgrade my CPU. I was initially going to get R5 3500XT (USD152). But then I saw some posts mentioning that 3500X performs almost same as an R5 2600 (140$). And I plan to overclock any processor I get, so the little gap between them for 10$ shouldn't be a problem. I should also include that R5 3600 cost about 192$. But I don't really want to spend too much money on the CPU right now. Would I get a noticeable upgrade in games by getting a 2600? (I use my PC mostly for gaming only). Or should I wait longer, save more money and wait for Ryzen 4000? I need overclocking abilities, so I can't go for intel as an i5 10600k costs way more than Ryzens here in my country (314$).

    My other specs:

    MSI GTX 1660 Ventus OC

    12GB DDR4 RAM (8+4)GB
