  1. Summary Microsoft has decided to shut down four of its game studios: Tango Gameworks, Arkane Austin, Alpha Dog Games and Roundhouse Games (Alpha Dog and Roundhouse will be merged into Zenimax Online Studios). Tango Gameworks confirmed all of their games will remain on the store and will remain playable, Arkane Austin confirmed Redfall online service will remain and players who bought the Hero Pass as part of the premium Bite Back Edition or the premium Back Bite upgrade will be eligible to receive the in-game credits, with no details about Prey. Alpha Dog Games confirmed Mighty DOOM development has fully stopped and has also disabled the ability to purchase in-game currency while also providing request refund option for anyone who bought the in-game currency. IGN confirmed in an e-mail that were sent to staff by Matt Booty, head of Xbox Game Studios, Microsoft blamed the cuts on a “reprioritization of titles and resources”. On the other side of the gate, Arkane Lyon Co-Creative Director, Dinga Bakaba, took notice of this shutdown and called out Microsoft, saying that this shutdown is "absolutely terrible." Quotes My thoughts I really have no words for this other than what I wrote on the Summary, Quotes and Source. This is probably a post that are just really hard to write for me. This shutdown really hurts Sources https://www.ign.com/articles/microsoft-closes-redfall-developer-arkane-austin-hifi-rush-developer-tango-gameworks-and-more-in-devastating-cuts-at-bethesda
  2. holy shit just realized something ironic from this and the presentation is that Capcom themself is also the one that pinned the RE4HD Project on the steam community. It was not pinned by moderators or anyone outside Capcom, it was LITERALLY pinned by Capcom themself we went from that to this...
  3. I do think the reason why people modded capcom games is not because they can just mod the old one and not buy the new or remake ones. Most Capcom games holds up very well with mods, even newer titles with mods is also fun and the mods for it released relatively quick. And again, Capcom is fine with people playing the old games. So I don't think this is the reason why
  4. I have retur-lmao what okay, jokes aside yeaaaah I do think it's also kinda easy to see the pattern? Like, out of nowhere they made a presentation about how modding is not different to cheating even if it's just cosmetics related modding, and how mods can morally ruin the reputation of certain games. Then, not too long before the DRM update, they also took down some MH Sunbreak modding videos so there's no doubt they're doing this to prevent modding which is just mindblowing considering how tame they've usually been with modding, now just because of NSFW mod in tourney, they decided that enough is enough while at the same time RE4make and DMC also have a ton of them? That's quite suspicious
  5. Mercenaries mode are available on RE4, 5, 6, 8, 4 Remake be it yarr yarr or you buy it, wdym? Capcom so far has never been against people playing older titles, but they stated in that bad presentation about modding that they looked at some parts of modding community and thought 'yeah it's not good for our reputation morally'. while at the same time creating the most 'hot damn' fighting game that is SF6 and that one Ashley part in the OG RE4. Literally don't understand the person at Capcom who uttered this double standard.
  6. RE5 is 2009 RE6 2012 REvelations is 2012 SF 30th Anniversary is yes, 2018 I do think they're just testing it for now because the games they put these on are older titles, but yeah like I said, no. Just no
  7. Ikr? Not even SF6 and RE4, probably they're just testing but even from this the conclusion are pretty much BIG NO
  8. Summary New discovery from players of Resident Evil Revelations reveals that Capcom has been implementing new DRM called Enigma for their games (some of the older ones, for now) as replacement for Denuvo. The new DRM was discovered when there was a sudden update for RE Revelations, and this DRM basically prevents modding or use of cheat engine, and perhaps much worse, tanks the performance 10 - 15FPS with constant stutters. Numerous reports also said that every Capcom games with this DRM can't be played on Steam Deck at all. Capcom reverted the updates few hours after but only for RE Revelations. But shortly after, it gets even worse again, as another report coming out that the new DRM has over 34 detected malware inside, and allegedly the DRM was made by only one random russian with a questionable 'company' that has no address (only stated it's located in Moscow) and barely registered in Russia, which could basically qualifies as dummy company The list of games that received DRM update are Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 5, Resident Evil Revelations (reverted), Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, Capcom Arcade Stadium, Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 1, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection Vol. 2, Mega Man Zero/ ZX Legacy Collection, and 64bit version of Strider Quotes My thoughts ooooooooh nononono this is just not looking great at all. All of this, just because of a wink wink mod showed on a SF6 tournament??? Like, come on Capcom you literally cooked so damn good last year, well at least until you released that presentation that basically says modding is cheating and some mods also 'potentially morally questionable and could ruin company reputation' and game price hasn't really gone up yet, but we were like oh ok that's just bad presentation, no, bad capcom. But now you're slowly doing this for real now? Denuvo is already bad enough, Monster Hunter mod video takedown is also frustrating enough, and now this?? Like, if you really worried about a small time local tourney being streamed and some weirdo accidentally leaving smut mods on, then they would also have to contend with the fact that half the SF6 character design is... something. And while the detection is yet to be researched more because it could be false positive, the fact that Capcom even paid this one DRM 'company' with no reputation at all is also looking real fishy. 9. Summary Fortnite map code has always been well known to have 16 digits. At TGA, most of the map code started with 0853. And unfortunately some people in Indonesia that took notice of this during TGA decided to check whether this is real number phone due to its similarities to Indonesian provider Telkomsel's first 4 digit number of phone number from that ISP, which is 0853, and it doesn't help that most Indonesian phone number has 16 digit numbers as well (so the format is 0853-XXXX-XXXX). One of notorious example was Tajudin, a construction contractor, gets spamcalled because one of the TGA Fortnite code that were shared on the screen, which someone else getcontact'd and apparently it's a real person. The person has since released a statement about the spamcall situation (in Indonesian, of course), and in an interview with local news outlet, he admitted that the spamcall came every minute and it's still happening to this very second. He didn't know about Fortnite or TGA at all, he basically can't really change his phone number because the number is well known to many of his business colleagues, and were concerned of misuse or threats coming from the incident. Quotes My thoughts This is very much confusing situation IMO. Like, no one expected these codes to be similar to a phone number from another country. At the same time, after this they probably should revamp the code format? Although I don't see it as an option that would make sense especially for something that is very much unexpected like this doxxing incident that isn't even really a doxxing but at the same time someone went a bit far and like 'oh I know this four digit number, it's Telkomsel number, lets call them and spread it on internet if it's a real number' but then you realized it's also a publicly shared code, but it felt like a privacy concern so they probably should revamp the format, it's very confusing damn I probably just gonna stop here. Also uh who's going to tell him that no, their number is not misused by Epic, it's just a coincidence that it's matched with Tajudin's number. Then again most people in Indonesia are tech illiterate anyway *sigh* Sources https://jagatplay.com/2023/12/news/mandor-bangunan-di-bekasi-jadi-korban-kode-fortnite-di-tga-2023/ https://kumparan.com/kumparansport/nomor-hp-mandor-bangunan-bekasi-viral-di-game-awards-ditelepon-tiap-menit-21k2KpI4rA4/full https://twitter.com/Tajudin167/status/1733107704162656715
  10. not every COD but yeah, that price increase is just brutal for what is already a 10+yo games, or even 20 like the original COD that at least had a bit OK-ish price for what it is HALO MCC being 11 bucks (converted) in some regions was a big deal as well, so the fact that they also increased it all the way to 38 bucks for some reason is a massive bummer for everyone that are planning to buy the game this month
  11. Summary For some reason, few days after the ABK acquisition, Activision titles and at least one MS title (Halo Master Chief Collection) saw a price hike on Steam in some regions. First spotted in Argentina, then the price hike also applies for India, Turkey, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and several other regions list of the games affected: - Every COD on Steam. Price change listed in the source and quote. Meanwhile: Black Ops III: $51 - $57, converted from Indonesian Rupiah pricing of 800K - 891K Modern Warfare 2019 and Black Ops Cold War: $52 - $57, converted from Indonesian Rupiah pricing of 800K - 891K - Crash N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4 (Price change listed in the source and quote) - Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Price change listed in the source and quote) - Sekiro (Price change listed in the source and quote) - Both OG Prototype and Prototype 2 (Price change listed in the source and quote) - HALO Master Chief Collection (11 bucks - 38 bucks, converted from Indonesian Rupiah pricing of 169K - 599K) Quotes My thoughts I... don't think this is a good way to recoup some of the money that you just spend for one mega giant AAA company. Just saying. And for anyone saying this is how they're going to announce these games in Game Pass, well... I don't even know anymore Sources https://winpoin.com/hot-imbas-akuisisi-game-microsoft-dan-activision-blizzard-di-steam-naik-harga/ https://fandomwire.com/activision-have-put-the-price-up-call-of-duty-games/
  12. JAR, GZIP, CAB, IMG, IMA, 7Z that isn't executable. What about those? Those are not native to Windows even if Windows do recognize some of the kind of files they are, and in order to create those (even something like ISO) they need a specific app for that Even average users someday will probably have to deal with those archive files or other ones, don't know what kind of things people would do that they have to deal with other archive formats, but they will face that situation regardless. Telling people that it makes little sense to install 7zip just because two archive formats are going to be natively supported on Windows isn't a good move
  13. Summary Today, Google Threat Analysis Group (TAG) posted in their blog about WinRAR security vulnerabilities that were already been exploited by government-backed hackers since early 2023. According to Google's TAG, the vulnerability allows attackers to execute arbitrary code when a user attempts to view a benign file (as an example, image files, particularly PNG) within a ZIP archive. So far it has been reported that the security hole has been used to target cryptocurrency trading accounts since April 2023, with another reports from security researcher Group-IB saying that there are 130 devices infected (mostly traders' devices) at the time the finding was posted back in August 2023, with total number still remains unknown to this very second. WinRAR already issued the patch in versions 6.24 and 6.23, but users have to manually install those versions in order for the app to be updated as WinRAR still doesn't have automatic updates even today. Quotes My thoughts With ZIP bomb being a thing I don't think I'd see anyone not updating WinRAR or 7zip but welp, I guess there's still people using older version of WinRAR. Yes, 7zip exists but if you really, really want to use WinRAR for some reason, regularly check the update in their website, since they literally don't have auto updates to this very second. Heck, 7zip doesn't have auto updates, so you have to check updates regularly as well if you use it. Now I don't know why they don't provide auto update feature at all, and I'm aware of Chocolatey can be used to configure the auto update, but why? 14. I'm planning to use Windows 11 debloated with Tiny11 builder, but the problem is that the builder/ trimmer only works stable with Windows 11 22621.1265 at the very maximum, which is the build from February this year. NTDEV did mention it can be used to trim Win11 ISO that is on much newer build (new as in not 8 months old) but doesn't guarantee that it can work well especially after being installed. Does anyone here ever tried any other (and much newer) Win11 build outside of what NTDEV recommends and is it at least stable enough, or the same as using trimmed 22621.1265 build? And please, I know some of you that are reading this are going to raise your pitchfork and probably will put me into wanted poster for this, but I don't want this post turns into an argument on why Tiny11 doesn't work or 'broken' or 'debloating windows is useless!11!1'. I just want to have a Tiny11 on a build version of Windows 11 that isn't 8 months old
  15. Recently planning to get one for my ROG ally and JSAUX is a bit expensive here in Indonesia (cheapest listing was 35 and half bucks or 550K Rupiah), and then I came across brand called PGTech and they have one for 29 bucks (450K Rupiah converted, and it's 29 bucks not 29.99) and advertise 3 USB3.0 ports with gigabit ethernet which is my top priority for now (it does advertise HDMI 2.0 as well). Searched for reviews and there's only reviews for its charging dock, which also available here but the point is the reviews for the dock is just not widely available. Maybe anyone here have experience with this brand? How does the dock performs? If you used it for long is it still holding up well to this very second? Also would be nice if anyone here have a list for docks/ USB hubs that lists whether a dock/ hub has all the ports runs at its advertised speed/ rating or not
  16. I'm sure I'm not the only one suggesting this but maybe a test for handheld docks and USB hubs given that now handhelds being popular? Recently planning to get one and JSAUX is a bit expensive here (cheapest listing was 35 and half bucks or 550K Rupiah), and then I came across brand called PGTech and they have one for 29 bucks here in Indonesia (450K Rupiah converted, and it's 29 bucks not 29.99) and advertise 3 USB3.0 ports with gigabit ethernet. Problem is, of course not everyone have a cable tester, so I do have my doubt whether the ethernet is actually gigabit and the USB port is actually running at USB3.0. Probably this would be another good use for that cable tester to be in a video again I guess Edit: Would be even better if there's disassembly for what chip they use for the USB/ Ethernet controller as well
  17. aaaaaand it's 404 again, smh THIS LMAO. Also yeah I don't know why ROG also sent reviewers the pre production ones (and it's not even the 'almost retail' version) that still have those defects. Though hopefully with this being something reviewers noticed, ASUS will address the issue before shipping the unit
  18. Summary ROG Ally listed on Indonesian ASUS ROG website with pricing soon to be announced, along with the preorder page (which was previously 404 until beginning of Friday) that is still showing placeholder price and there's also pre order date announcement from ROG Indonesia discord confirming that the pre order will starts at June 27th. Page also listed the same expected specs, which means no different SKUs for different region (for now) Quotes My thoughts This is good news for ROG Ally availability, especially for Asia region (particularly SE Asia). It looks like ASUS do deliver on their promise about global availability, and this would be another push for handheld makers to actually expand their market into another region so that their handheld is accessible and readily available locally without people having to preorder/ buy and wait for many many months which is not ideal for some people (especially with international shipping tax being a thing). I really hope ASUS ROG handheld division would actually do a better job on delivering the hype and not screwing things up by making a blunder with artifically limiting the community on what they can do with their Ally (especially hardware accessories market in Asia is very huge so doing that would be a massive L) because I feel like this is their only shot for redemption after the recent controversy caused by their motherboard division. And while I don't really want to speak too soon, to be honest... Oh also any Asia gang here that also have silent announcement of ROG Ally in their region, feel free to post here. Even better if there's a price reveal. 19. Summary MediaTek rumored to be partnering up with NVIDIA for developing low power GPU for their mobile SoC in early 2024 Quotes My thoughts I don't have much to say about the NVIDIA x MediaTek news. I kinda don't think this is a big surprise, in fact they did that RTX on ARM demo with a MediaTek chip back in 2021 which was during the NVIDIA ARM acquisition drama, but at the same time I do hope this is not NVIDIA trying to find a loophole to strangle ARM chips market silently and I hope this doesn't spark any gatekeeping problem for basically everyone else that are partnering up with MediaTek for their mobile chip or anything else, especially that MediaTek still have some partnership with AMD in some spaces like Network solution for AMD mobile platforms. But we shall see whether this is going to be actually happening or not Sources - https://www.digitimes.com/news/a20230515PD212/gpu-mediatek-nvidia.html - https://www.tomshardware.com/news/mediatek-to-adopt-nvidia-gpu-tech-report - https://9to5google.com/2023/05/16/mediatek-nvidia-gpu-report/
  20. Summary Some Powercolor Red Devil 7900XTX suffers from high temp (including, in usual fashion, hotspot temp), further investigation from Igor (IgorsLab) discovers that the card was having a temperature issue due to QC issues related to the cooler mounting and thermal paste application from the factory (Image from IgorsLab). Powercolor already contacted IgorsLab regarding the issue and telling users affected by this issue to contact Powercolor but so far no announcements made on their social platform Quotes My thoughts 7900XTX seems can't take a break from QC issues. While to be fair this is a fairly easy fix, not everyone would want to teardown their 7900XTX or even have the know how to do the teardown, yeah maybe just a small percentage of them but still, it's frustrating to know your finished build have to be disassembled (well, the gpu have to be disassembled) because while gaming the temps were not great and the bad news is that they don't quickly announced the issue so you have to make a guess on what's actually going on with your card until someone tells you or you dig deeper to know it's a thermal paste/ cooler mount issue, which on a card like 7900XTX especially on their 3rd party model you'd think it's going to be good out of box, but no you have to go through (maybe) half an hour of disassembly to repaste and remount it, or if you live in a region where warranty void if removed stickers actually does what it says if the RMA peeps sees that it's broken or peeled, you have to bring it for RMA and wait for a few days, maybe a week worst case. So yeah, basically for any Radeon card makers: 7000 series, bare chiplet cards, not a bare monolithic. Don't forget to spread it even and correctly cover the entire die. It's not a Ryzen CPU where you can just do X four dot pattern and call it a day. And please, if there's any of this problems and you acknowledge it, immediately announce it to the public with clear detail so people know what to do if they are affected. 21. click on the channel and you'll find out that it's actually in its normal techlinked/ techquickie logo. As mentioned many times above, it's cache error from YT side at least on the main search, and this affects not just the logo but also description on the main search. Although... In the nutshell: Main search have cache error from YT side, channel search do not (which can be used for finding videos that still have the scam description) and this makes me question YT even more if they can't even handle cache error from their side why do I expect them to prevent session token theft
  22. lol for some reason even on a fresh chrome install or even on a YT that never opened up LTT videos it's still showing that tesla logo and even the name plus the old scam description, not that I don't know it's just a cache error but it's annoying regardless Video search from channel does seems to not having that issue though, and it can shows result based on whats in the description (THANK GOD because I think this wasn't the case back then, at least for me, idk it never worked) so it's a good way to hunt for videos that are still having the scam in the description, and of course I found two examples from that. Checked from regular and incognito, both shows the same so yep it's still not changed for these two example and not cache error https://youtu.be/p2lTBQcT5pY MSI Big Bang Mpower Testing in Progress Hangout On Air https://youtu.be/TZM38l_sBwU Accurate CPU Install Guide (zero dislikes)
  23. Decided to talk in this thread after lurking for too long, one of the peeps that also witnessed all the craziness at the day it happened (Discovered about the hack at 5:20PM Thursday GMT+7 from Discord). Glad that they got it back really quick, like 17 hours of channel recovery is quick but that's mostly due to LMG reputation as well, although they still had to go through another stressful process of fully recovering channel and video details (descriptions, channel name, etc) along with setting up security measures after the hijack. Can't really say anything other than wishing you all, not just LMG staff but also LTT Forum/ Discord staff hell even LMG social media manager good health and better days ahead, you guys really deserve a short break after handling this, dare I say, supermassive channel hijack. Social engineering is ultimate bitch and session token stealing doesn't help with the situation at all, and the crazy thing is that one is unstoppable force and you can't easily tell, the other one can be worked out but eventually bad actors would still find a workaround for it
  24. Is there any program to center at the very minimum the start menu on Windows 10 that is not from Stardock AND also compatible with Open-shell? Tho it would be nice if it can also center the start button as well. Already tried Start11, Start11/ 10 is standalone start button/ menu app, having it along with Open-shell or Classic shell will just make your taskbar having two start button and two start menu, except the Open-shell/ Classic shell ones is going to stay on the corner, and Start11/ 10 doesn't have classic start menu option nor it will trigger the Open-shell start menu when the start button is clicked, which is why I decided to not use it (I'm aware of WindowBlinds11. The classic themes from them is just not for me and it would still require Start11). TaskbarX and StartIsBack++ doesn't have it, JaxCore/ Valistart require Rainmeter but that's not the problem since I actually want to use it, the problem is that it's basically the same as Start11/ 10, it's standalone start menu/ button and will not trigger the Open-shell/ Classic shell start menu to be centered (attachments is photoshopped, to give you some idea on why I don't want to use Start11 with WindowBlinds. For me this is an ideal classic, semi modern take for Windows 95 menu skin. Ignore the Start11, as I mentioned above it doesn't work with Openshell)
