Bit late but I updated all my drivers tried everything online basically I think my best bet is to format my hard drive and maybe get an ssd while I’m at it because I have one on my other pc and would love another one so if that doesn’t work that it’s likely a motherboard or cpu issue thanks for help though.

So ive been getting these Kernal Power errors on my pc frequenty and it just shuts down without warning and reboots itself. Ive tried googling the issue but cant figure out why the problem is happening. So far ive tried swapping gpus, ram, and psu but it still happens. Ive also made sure no wires are loose in the pc. Thanks in advance. edit: also happened with stock speeds

I don’t think it’s fried because all the fans spin lights come up and motherboard beeps upon starting but I’ll try the jumper switch thing and let you know how t goes thanks

It’s lga 1366 also why wouldn’t the original i7 I had suddenly not work when I put it back in the pc?
-
Problem is I’m not getting any display at all, so I can’t see bios. Tried different display cable and no luck.
-
Well I’ve been using the i7 pc for a few months every things been fine now I don’t know about the Xeon working since I couldn’t get it to work but now I switched back to the i7 and same things happening
-
So I bought a pc a few months ago with an i7 930 and some other goodies in it and so I decided to squeeze some extra performance out of it to buy a Xeon x5650 on eBay. So I remove cpu cooler install it but no boot or display at all. All fans are spinning tried reinstalling gpu unplugged all motherboard cables nothing worked. Now after this I put previous i7 back in and guess what... no display again. Now I freaking out and don’t know what to do pins don’t seem bent so I don’t know why it won’t work. Motherboard is a p6x58d premium if it helps. Also I tried removing ram and using only 1 stick and no results as well as removing CMOS battery and replacing it.

So my gtx 950 has been acting really off and constantly going to 85c and randomly in a game my pc just shuts down or resets. I tried dusting it, i reinstalled and nothing seems to be working so im figuring my best bet is to just get a gtx 1060 6gb. its not my cpu because it sits about 50c under load and everything else seems fine. here are some links to ones I might get, i wanted a dual fan so it has better thermals for OCing and such. https://www.amazon.com/PNY-GeForce-1060-Graphics-VCGGTX10606PB/dp/B01IR5MR32/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1513979493&sr=1-7&keywords=gtx+1060+6gb https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I5O5AP2/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LZYPEHK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 Btw I live in NY.

7700k, 8700k, 7800x for a new upgrade?
Dan942 replied to Mark123's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I'd say go for the 8700k, especially because you do video editing plus it will be more future proof. -

My point was that I have 16gb of ddr3 ram already so I want a motherboard compatible with the ram I have so I don't have to buy ddr4 that's why I looked into the i7 3930k
-
Hello, I was wondering if buying a used lga 2011 x79 motherboard and i7 3930k from eBay was a good idea to upgrade from my fx 8320 because upgrading to a ddr4 motherboard would require new ram which I want to keep the ram I have. if not, what would be an alternative to this for not too expensive because I don't want to be spending much over $200 on a pc upgrade. I've also heard the 3930k is a great overclocke. Thanks in advance.

ok thanks for the reply yeah they are all ddr3 and same speed just wasnt sure if 2 4gb stick will work with 1 8gb stick. oh and also should i put the ram is any slot like does it matter where it goes?
