  1. Hello, After finishing lawschool I've started a career as judicial officer. A job for wicht I need to keep studying for the rest of my career. I live in an appartement that i'd like to keep tidy. I used to study everything on paper and physical books, resulting is a very cluttered desk and house. I'd like to combat this. Although i'm a paper guy i like the benefits of ereaders. I'm looking for a large ereader to import my books to. I need to be able to take notes easily both on a blank page and directly on the books. I don't use colour very much so it's not essential to have colour support. I also need to be able to bring it with me, to classes and on trips, so a 13 inch laptop size would be ideal. What's the best option for me? Thanks for the help!
  2. Is the mining craze still going on there maybe? haha
  3. I'm ok with it but Belgium doesn't really have a well developed 2nd hand graphics card market
  4. I know it's asking a lot but would you happen to know a better deal?
  5. Chrome OS will run smoother on low end hardware. Normally i wouldn't recommend chrome OS because there is always that one thing you need and can't get on chrome OS. But if you don't have another 100 lying around, go for a chrome laptop.
  6. Hi, Is this a good deal on a GTX 1080? https://www.amazon.fr/Graphique-Gigabyte-GeForce-GV-N1080G1-GAMING-8GD/dp/B01GCAW1IA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1540750505&sr=8-1&keywords=gtx+1080 I live in europe and would like to go for a GTX 1080, but i have no idea if this is a good buy? thanks for the help, as always!
  7. - i didn't know photoshop didn't scale further than 4 cores, thanks for the info! -PSU: Seasonic M12II-520W Alimentation pour PC 520 W 120 mm 80Plus BRONZE
  8. - concerning the M.2: i don't want it to increase boot times, i want to increase the photoshop workflow. Wouldn't a large M.2 help with loading times of big projects? - I OCed my R5 and photoshop regularly gets it to 100% so i realy need to upgrade that. - the ram absolutely needs to upgraded. photoshop uses up everything, so running chrome in the background makes everything crawl. Importing larger projects also slows down everything. -The GPU is not critical for the photoshop work. A 1050ti is enough for photo editing hardware accelleration. The 1070 - 1080 is just for me. Will a 1070 be enough for smooth 1440 p gaming? -budget is 2000 euro's
  9. Hi, I'm planning on upgrading my system. Current setup: - Asus prime B350 plus MOBO - Ryzen 5 1400 CPU - Asus Nvidia GTX 1050 ti graphics card - 8 GB corsair vengeance (2x4) at 2999 Mhz - Seasonic 500 W PSU - Baracuda 1 tb HDD - San disk 120 GB SSD (boot) - HP 1440p 60Hz display. It was mainly built for my girlfriend's photoshop needs. Her workload increased and I want to use the computer for a bit more serious gaming so i'm looking to upgrade. I'm planning: - R7 1700 - adding 2x8 GB of 2x 16 GB of ram - getting a GTX 1070 or 1080 - getting an M.2 SSD for boot drive anyone got tips? also, what PSU should i get? I live in the EU by the way. Thanks for the help!
  10. Hi, I am looking for a good (preferably free) android podcast app that lets me organise my downloaded episodes. I am currently using Castbox. Whenever I download a bunch of episodes from different podcasts everything just gets dumped into a "downloaded" folder within the app. There are some sorting options like oldest or newest first or sort by name but nothing more than that. I would like the ability to organise my downloaded in folders per podcast. ideally there would be a downloaded folder and in that folder there would be sub folders of every podcast i have downloaded episodes from. In these folders the downloaded episodes would then be sorted in the logical playback order like oldest to newest. Is there a podcast app that does this? I don't mind paying a couple of bucks if there is no free option. I just can't live with a disorganised downloads folder as I only listen to podcasts that i've downloaded. I never directly stream them. The feature to subscribe and get notified of new episodes is also a must. Thanks for the help!
  11. By the way: I am currently updating Nvidia drivers. Could that have caused the issue?
  12. I need some help with finding out what the problem is here. When I start my PC everything seems fine untill I get to the lockscreen. everything is displayed normally. Even the lockscreen itself looks normal. But after i type in my password and hit enter i gat a black screen. Windows itself still works i think because when i move the cursor it appears on screen and reacts normally but the screen stays completely black appart from the white cursor (no UI elements, no background, no app icons,...) I still can get to the lockscreen when i prse ctr+alt+del and select "different user" or "log off" but when I try to log in again it still gives me the black screen. Yesterday I logged into a different account and that worked like normal. Then I switched to my account again and it worked fine. today I tried to do the same thing but I got black screens on both accounts. I solved it by rebooting in safe mode and then back again. Now I could log in without any problem, but I don't know what will happen if I restart again and try to log in again. What could be the cause of this problem? system info Specs: Asus prime B350plus, Ryzen 5 1400, Nvidia GTX 1050 ti, Corsair vengeance LPX DDR4 8GB, Seasonic power supply (i think 500W), Sandisk 128 GB SSD, Seagate Baracuda 1TB HDD. OS: Windows 10.
  13. you live in Ireland. Warranty and repair shouldn't be a deciding factor. Every seller in Ireland needs to adhere to the same rules as anywhere else in europe. Warranty in Ireland is covered by EU law.
  14. well, i don't know about how it is in North America but where I live that amount of DDR3 is going for around 100 bucks.
  15. well, considdering the RAM is worth half the price and the OS the other half i would say it is worth the price. It's not a great PC though.
