  1. I have, the other monitor was fine at 144hz
  2. I initially was using display port when it originally broke, and switched to hdmi only for it to later degrade again. I have noticed now after using the monitor for a bit at 60hz and switching back to 120 that the corruption is gone. Still a terrible experience for it to not work immediately, but not as bad as 120 being completely broken.
  3. I've been using the MSI Optix MAG27CQ ( a 1440p 144hz va monitor) for nearly a year, but recently it has started breaking. First the screen would be heavily corrupted with lines at any resolution at 144hz. This was a surprise, but I temporarily solved it by switching to hdmi and running at 120z until I find a better solution (repair or rma), which has been fine so far. Yet today, the screen again became corrupted even at 120hz, forcing me down to 60hz. I've been using a laptop more often, so the monitor hasn't even been used that much recently, which is why I'm so confused. Is there anything I could be doing to cause this? I don't want to replace the monitor only to accidentally break the new one. Thanks for any help.
  4. Can the Samsung Gear 360 (2017) be charged with a Samsung adaptive charge base, or does it have to be from a USB port, or another source? Thank you!
  5. Quick question about the makerbot 2: if I buy a 2x extruder, is it compatible with the 2 board? It looks like there's enough connectors, but I'm a novice in the area. Also, would 3rd party extruders and nozzles be compatible with the makerbot 2, and if so how can I tell? Thanks!
  6. Yeah, but as a disk player the 1s is still expensive. All I need is a player that will play native 4K HDR w/ the new sound standards. Nothing more
  7. Hey, so I'm interested in getting a new blu ray player for 4K that also had HDR, but I don't need any extra features, just the ability to play back 4K HDR disks in whatever native they are supposed to be at, while also supporting the new sound standards (Dolby Atmos, etc). What good options are there?
  8. G3 is actually a lot better, thank you
  9. So a few months ago, I planned a build, but as I was saving for it, some new stuff came along, and I decided to change some stuff. What are your guy's thoughts on this build? Everything is USD. EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 (799.99) Intel Core i7 8700k (359.99, assuming it stays MSRP) Asus Z370 Maximus X Wifi AC (279.99) Corsair LPX 2x8 @2666 (140... although I just checked and its 190 for some reason...mining?) 1x WD Blue 1TB 7200RP, 1x WD Blue 500GB m.2 drive (200 combined) Cryorig R1 Ultimate (90) Corsair HD120 3 pack (90) Phanteks Enthoo Luxe (180) EVGA P2 Supernova 750w (140; I chose this and not a lesser one since its the least powerful PSU with extra SATA and PCI ports for expandability) Corsair K70 Luxe (160) Acer Predator XB241YU, 1440p, 1m, 144hz, TN (500) Total; $2950, $2270 without peripherals. I don't have a set budget, but would like stuff to be kept as cheap as possible (although, I am aware I am not being the best when it comes to price/performance. Thanks for any help!
  10. Before jumping on the 7700k, you should wait for the 8700k, which is theoretically launching this fall. 8700k adds two more cores, and from the looks of it will be able to overclock a lot better than Ryzen, giving it a more equal stance against Ryzen 7. As far as a heatsink, the Hyper 212 EVO will work fine on the 7700k (and on coffee lake, presumably), as others have said. For an extra 20 dollars, you can get the Cryorig H5, which as some extra headroom for overclocking, if you choose to do so.
  11. While I don't know the benchmarks between the 480 and 1060, I would at least recommend getting a model with more than 3GB vram, since 3 is rather low. RX 480 sells 4 and 8GB models, and GTX 1060 has a 6GB model (as well as the three, which you brought up). Also, Ryzen 5 would probably be better in the long run in lieu of Ryzen 3, because once Intel releases Coffee Lake and their mainstream hex cores, quad core will soon lose support since now both brands have abandoned quad core in the majority of their products.
  12. Thanks for all the replies! Even though amiibo are not the rarest things today, I think that in a few years (4-6) their value will pick up again.
  13. The old music was fine, but I really like the new music. Especially the splatfest remixes. The new music just overall feels more energetic than the first. However, something I did discover is that you can unlock the old music at the arcade machine. I think I unlocked it by using Splatoon 1 amiibo, but I have been skimming over their text, so I may have gotten it from normal gameplay.
  14. I'm sure you have this already since it wasn't on the list, but Splatoon 2 is a really good game to get.
  15. So I just got two amiibo today, a Smash Zelda imported from Japan, and a Lucina I just found at best buy. However, all amiibo rarity charts are from years ago, so I don't know how valuable these two are. What makes me excited however, is that these two have no 3DS or Switch on the box, just the Wii U and smash info. Are these two valuable in any way? The boxes are like this, except with info relevant to Lucina and Zelda, and the Zelda box has a white gamepad. Thanks for any help!
  16. Wait... this is legit? I haven't read the articles yet, but this seems too out of place to be a real thing.
  17. From what I've seen from benchmark videos and the like, 70-80C appears to be average for cpu and gpu on load, with 80-90 being hot, but usable. Anything above 90C is usually thermal throttling, so if temps get that high then you should probably look into that.
  18. I would recommend clearing cmos, which resets the bios. While it doesn't look like a bios problem, I don't think it would hurt to try.
  19. It was on an article from MSN a few years ago, I don't know if I can find it. (edit: the tweet was referring to james, not albus, so cursed child al least has that) Also, the arc with Scorpius Malfoy being his friend was interesting. On a related note, Harry kind of shoving Draco aside is another major flaw with the book, considering how merciful he was in the Room of requirement in book 7 and how Narcissa Malfoy arguably saved his life.
  20. As an example, Sorcerer/Philosopher's stone move dropped an entire room from the trials to reach the stone.
  21. Yeah, the fanservice was pretty heavy. Also, I remembered reading once, before cursed child, that J.K. Rowling confirmed that Albus Potter got into Gryffindor, whereas the "book" ignores that statement.
  22. To start a topic, what's your opinion on cursed child?
