  1. Howdy folks! Nvidia just released the new Broadcast app! Just like RTXVoice, I suspect there must be a way to get it to install on non-RTX cards, but I'm not smart enough to figure it out. Anyone have any ideas or tried it yet? https://www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce/broadcasting/broadcast-app/
  2. Sorry if this was posted anywhere else. Saw this today. Died. Video created by mav6771
  3. I would never recommend running watercooling in a server if you value uptime and reliability. There's a high risk involved and if you can't risk downtime, you're going to be spending a few hours to days repairing any kind of watercooling-related issue. There are plenty of powerful air coolers out there which will provide you with adequate temperatures for your server, but it is also important for the whole system to have good ventilation and airflow, so it might be time to evaluate the placement of fans as well as the placement of the server itself.
  4. Username: BoomLiam Fav videos: https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFf(Of course it'd be something related to server hardware. Fricking LOVE servers <3 ) https://www.vessel.com/videos/JYZEYDYx0(Because... how couldn't I love a build log?)
  5. I'll get him to try out his old GPU, I have also found a BIOS update which I'll get him to try too (dunno how much it'll help... but hey-ho!) Thanks for the help so far!
  6. Really? Well I'll keep that in mind! It seemed odd that the system performed fine without the GPU though... very odd...
  7. Any reason? The CPU is officially supported on Asus' website? o_O
  8. Trying to sort out an issue for a friend, he's running an AMD FX-8350 and a Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X edition on Windows 8.1 (Corsair 600w PSU, SSD, Asus m5a78l-m and generic 1333Mhz RAM from old PC) After sorting out a seating issue with the CPU causing the computer to not display anything, we have now come across a problem where the computer will restart randomly. After running memtest, monitoring CPU temperatures, re-installing windows multiple times, running check disks and a plethora of other tests, it appears the cause is related to a GPU issue. When the latest AMD drivers are not installed, the computer appears stable, running for an hour without a restart (most restarts occur within 10 minutes of boot) However, once AMD drivers are installed, the computer will restart. (Also tried latest beta driers from AMD) There have been a few blue screens, all seem to be related to "ntoskrnl.exe" (Crash list created by BlueScreenView are linked HERE and HERE) Wondering if anyone has any ideas? Is the issue clearly a GPU issue and needs to be RMA'd? Is the issue related to Windows 8.1 compatibility issues? Or is it something less obvious (PSU, motherboard, CPU?) Would love some help on this, we've been trying to troubleshoot this for a good 24 hours
  9. I am about to order an Intel Xeon e3 1230 V2 for my community gaming/home server however, as this type of GPU does not include the iGPU, will I need to buy a cheap GPU in order for the server to function? I had planned to always connect to the server via Remote Desktop, however what will I do before even installing Windows? I also ordered this motherboard (I wanted something cheap and functional, it seemed to meet all of my desired criteria) If this is the case, are there any recommendations? Most of the time I will be connecting to the server via Remote Desktop, so I do not need anything amazing, just something for as cheap as possible. Thanks for help!
  10. I realise the AMD side do have power, but they require a different type of Motherboard all together, and being as they're server grade only, they cost a metric butt-tonne. I only want to spend £35 on a motherboard....
  11. Alright, well not having to worry about a UPS will certainly save me some money. I want the server to be as cheap as possible, I don't have much money and it's only a hobby really, but it can certainly go places and I hope it does
  12. The Minecraft server will likely be vanilla with a whole load of plugins (ASW is currently one of the plugins I have and it's the best plugin I've ever got, great for recovering the server as it crashes a lot) I am looking at Windows Server 2012, though this is only because I have never tried Linux, I might have to teach myself... And I will look into a UPS for later, but for now my power is very stable and over the year I have been hosting on this server, it has had no down-time related to power. Though one thing I was curious of is does a UPS save power consumption anywhere... somehow? Or is it JUST redundancy and cleaner power?
