Good day readers. What I want to do is spit a PCIE slot 4 ways. I know my mother board can do it (Asrock Rack ROMED8-2T, (https://www.asrockrack.com/general/productdetail.asp?Model=ROMED8-2T#Specifications)) On these four slots I want to have: 2 USB expansion cards 1 Sound card But from what I've seen everything as rare or expensive. I am running Unraid and would like to Pass one USB card through to a VM Pass individual ports on my other USB card to different VM's (I already know this card can do it, it is a (https://www.ebay.com/itm/293380970040)) Pass the Sound card to a different VM So there is my question, would this (https://www.ebay.com/itm/114846479420) give me full access to my two USB cards and sound card? It's cheap, can be retro fitted to my 4U server chassis, Is available for me to ship to South Africa. Thank you

So I posted this thread on the Level1Techs forums (https://forum.level1techs.com/t/boot-an-operating-system-directly-off-of-a-server/179801/4) but I can tell that i will need a lot of feelers out for this project. The summary of that thread is that I want to boot live off of a operating system image directly. In essence the client machine would do the relevant computing locally while the server would act as the file system and storage. No local storage. I have read a bit about PXE boot but that seems to be mostly for over the network installation I should preface that the reasoning behind this convoluted setup is being able to easily swap operating systems with out installing multiple drives. Anyone know what can cause this? hdmi into a 1060, i think its the actual tv, like some sort of power fluctuation issue sorry for the vertical video IMG_2031.MOV

I'm not sure but it seems for the games iv'e ran since moving that display over they pick the dedicated card but yea it remains to be seen whether or not that is a consistent theme All being said in this post i'm still ware of reverting to running all displays off my Egpu as enough ports to run these displays without adapting my TV HDMI to a DVI and my VGA to an HDMI specifically because sometimes I get this "display isn't active" nonsense Feel free to leave more comments on this post i'd be interested to see what experience people have had with this weird useless endeavor. Yes but my main displays are on the dedicated cad so any all and most apps should run off my dedicated gpu and not the igpu on my cpu At least as i understand it (which is minimally but still)

I ocasionally get weird 100% utilization on my cpu

I guess ill just run the single monitor off the igpu and everything else off the dedicated card thanks for the input

Well since it is sandwiched by my two displays it is a very use full display for productivity. A good idea though but id have to figure out away to run the chromecast as a ghost monitor so id be able to move applications easily but unfortunatly this still wouldnt really solve the problem of Wallpaper engine keeping my gpu at 20% idle plus id probably loose windows virtual desktop functionality

This was my primary concern as well also just plugged my tv into the diplay port...port on my mobo and the classic "display isn't active" has one again returned to haunt me

Yes I see, my main reason for this is the app for running live wallpapers and the like (wall paper engine) adds like 20% so I just set it to disable when something that operates in full screen (games) it closes but like I also sometimes have a vid like youtube ot twitch running on the tv so if im playing casually I can glance over for a bit and i figure as I just have 1060 6gb with a very miled oc, I could give myself some head room especially for VR stuff Not the most valid use case but hey, ill probably just try run the tv off the Igpu aswell and see what happens I mean I already have one monitor working like that.

So here's the situation Now aparently I cannot change what GPU renders Wall-Paper Engine can only run on the GPU that "renders" the desktop (https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/2/1653297026036887970/) But I want to run it on my IGPU so would it be possible to run these monitors off my IGPU and than use my primary GPU to run my games. I have enabled some Igpu setting in bios so i don't know entirely what thats about 1. monitor plugged into my GPU with DVI (native 1080p) 1. TV plugged into GPU using hdmi (native 1080p) 1. monitor plugged into my mobo running on my CPU's IGPU with a vga to hdmi adapter (720p running at 1080p) I have an 8700K with an asus z370-a which has the same ports im currently using (I would use an hdmi to DP connector for the tv which i already have)

Yes I defiantly am going to get some inhibitors and the like. I did some diging, haven't confirmed the rpm, I have seen conflicting information but ive seen packaging state that it is 3200 RPM. its also not too common and there is 2 versions (mines the metal cpu block version) also I kinda wanted to stack these radiators (I have the Lian Li 301 white) so I wanted to stack them on the top mount (drawing air in trough the rear vent giving the back where my hdd is mounted providing some air flow) so they would be above the block and res and probably going out the block trough the 240 pushed trough the 360 down into the the res back into the block I think If I gave it some good airflow this could work nicely tricky job for sure but I could always reverse the job (I would test this outside the case first) and find a pump another pump As for the mixed metals, could be a problem but I'm pretty sure the rad is aluminum and the block is already copper so maybe changing to a different "red copper" (according to the product page) block might not be the worst thing. However this arrangement would introduce brass but i have this idea that I read or heard somewhere that brass doesn't corrode not sure if that's accurate but its a bonus.

I think its a Bykski (It has micro channels, no thin plate thing, the name escapes me) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32844076651.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.1b014c4dnY284c Tubes Fittings https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32899658588.html?spm=2114.13010708.0.0.1b014c4dnY284c But I have no pump as it never arrived and they are quite expensive particularity in my currency and country, so I figured since if I joined them I'd have a dual rad loop and either use the existing water and add a little extra as it is appears to have a growth inhibitor so maybe it would be safe or I could just replace the water and put in a biocide and a growth inhibitor, maybe throw in some silver for good measure and I wouldn't have any problems since the new rad has a brass chamber and its likely the one in the cobra is as well, ali express claims my new water block is copper but if i got enough chemicals would this be do-able. Not sure if the pump has enough juice Would appreciate some input about this projects feasibility.

Note: I have reduced the core and memory clock. Problem fixed? will update the post if this was the fix
