No signal to monitor after m.2 installation and subsequent removal
crazytuna replied to crazytuna's topic in Troubleshooting
I have tried all of that, I even have two monitors I’m testing to ensure it is not a monitor issue. The monitors turn on when my PC does so I am guessing it is detecting something, just won’t give me any signal. -

It stays on like normal. All lights on the motherboard and gpu are on like they should be. -

Just reinstalled gpu and no dice. Have also tried to get a signal from my motherboard and that is also not working. -
Hello, as the title states I just installed an m.2 ssd to my computer. Upon installing it, I had no signal going to my monitor. To try and troubleshoot with my bios, I removed the m.2 and the problem has persisted. I have never encountered this before and my computer was fine as of last night. I am not sure where to go from here, any advice would be great thanks. Mobo: Asus prime x470 pro GPU: 2070 Super M.2 tried to install: 970 evo plus Cpu: Ryzen 7 2700x

Hello, I have just started to have this issue with my PC where, if left idle, it will randomly go completely black. It can be left for 5 minutes before it turns off, or as little as 30 seconds. My monitors will turn off as if it was asleep, but I am unable to turn them back on. When this happens, my pc continues to run and I am unable to hold the power button to turn it off. The only way I can reset it is if I turn off my power supply. I have had this pc built for 4 years and the last upgrade to it was over a year ago, so I doubt any new part is an issue. Downloading issues, potentially hard drive issues? Help!
crazytuna posted a topic in Troubleshooting
I was downloading a game on steam and after about 40 minutes of it downloading at 20mbs it all of a sudden dropped to 0 with occasional spikes up to 200kbs. Since then, I have been unable to have steam download any faster than that. Restarting the app or my computer will let it download at 20mbs for about a minute before it tanks again and drops to 0. My computer as a whole is slow, its slow to pause the download and slow to start the download as well. I tried downloading a game on Origin and it was about the same story. Started off around 20mbs and then just dropped until it was at 2mbs and stayed around there. I know it is not my wifi, my brother is downloading games fine and all speedtests are coming back good. I've done a virus scan and it came back clean as well. Someone please help, in my 4 years of using this computer I've never encountered this issue.- 2 replies

Reinstalled the cooler and everything is fine now, not sure what the issue was but the temps are low now. Thanks!

Fan speeds are around 3000 rpm. I used thermal paste, so I think I'm going to reinstall the cooler, and do reapply thermal paste.

I am using the wraith stock cooler that was included with my CPU. I'm pretty sure it is properly installed. I tried to take a picture, though I don't think it will be of much help. The fans are spinning fine so I know it is at least working.

As the title states, my cpu, a ryzen 7 2700x, is hitting temps around 80C while under >10% load. I've used multiple programs to verify this, and they all have it at around 80C when at idle. Does anyone know what could be the problem? Thanks in advance.

We know the power supply and ram work as they were part of another build, though we did not test the mobo, CPU, and gpu until now. The CPU is a ryzen 7 2700x

Checked all the connections and they are fine, my mobo does not have a speaker. How do I go about shorting it?
-
That is how I have it plugged in, and when I press the power button on the case, still nothing happens

The motherboard is an Asus prime x470 pro. My friend tried the screwdriver thing earlier and it didn't work.
