  1. I just enabled XMP on my RAM and it seems to have fixed my issues. I don't know why it's more stable at a higher clock but it is. Thanks for all your help!
  2. I'll try updating my BIOS. I've already run Windows Memory Diagnostic and no errors popped up.
  3. I've run windows memory diagnostic and no errors popped up, I've updated to the most recent NVidia drivers but haven't run a disk scan tool yet, do you have any you would recommend for this scenario?
  4. I can help with the keyboard part of your question, look into getting a COX YC66, it's heavily recommended by everyone in the keyboard enthusiast community as it offers every feature you could possibly want at an affordable price point. You'll need to get the switches and keycaps for it as well, I'd recommend sakura pink everglide switches and razer pbt if you're on a budget.
  5. They're in the second and 4th slot on the motherboard, I don't think I have XMP profile enabled for them. I'm planning on getting an SSD soon, I know, hardrives in 2020 aren't exactly viable anymore
  6. Whenever I'm working in Fusion360 or playing RAM intensive games like minecraft, my computer would randomly blue screen, showing errors like 'memory management error' and 'IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL' among a few others. I've done a fresh install of windows and the RAM modules I'm using work fine in another system, I've also checked to make sure all my drivers are up to date as well. System specs: Processor: Ryzen 2700x Motherboard: B450 AORUS PRO WIFI Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 RAM: 2x8 GB G.Skill Aegis DDR4 300MHz Storage: Western Digital Blue 7200rpm 1TB Nothing has been overclocked, I'm starting to think it might be a hard drive problem as the one I'm using is a few years old.
  7. I was playing Caves of Qud on my PC, when suddenly a loud, static noise started coming out of my monitor speakers. I turn my monitor off, and the noise stops. I turn it back on, it starts again. I shut down both my monitor and PC and restart both of them. When I do, the monitor starts displaying "no display input". I try swapping the display port cable I was using to a new HDMI cable, no luck. I plug the HDMI cable into a laptop, and the monitor displays the laptop screen correctly. I then try plugging the HDMI cable directly to my motherboard IO instead of the graphics card, still "no display input". All of the fans in my computer are spinning when I turn it on, but when I plug my phone to it via USB, I'm not getting a notification asking me to decide whether or not I want the device to access my files or not. When I move my mouse when the monitor is "sleeping" from inactivity, nothing happens, unlike usual where it wakes up. Info: Windows 10 64 bit I5-6500 Asus H110M-E/M.2 Gigabyte GTX 1080 corsair vengeance 8gb ram Western Digital WD10EZEX 1tb Latest version of BIOS is installed Caves of Qud was running when It crashed
  8. I was wondering if an i5-6500 would bottleneck a gtx 1070 in 1440p 144hz. If it does, how bad is the bottleneck?
  9. After i updated to the most recent version of chrome, for some reason or another, it started taking me anywhere from 2-5 seconds to swap from tab to tab. When I click on a different tab, it would take a few seconds before chrome actually swapped to it. The problem isn't just limited to this, full-screening a YouTube video takes a long time as well. When i actually do swap tabs, the website i'm browsing tends to run without any hiccups, it's just getting to the website that's the issue. My theory is that the issues may have been caused by either the new update, or me getting a new monitor(1080p@60hz-1440p@144hz) I've checked task manager to see if it was an issue where my computer specs weren't up to par with the resolution(Which shouldn't be the issue since I upgraded to 16gb ram, have google chrome on an ssd, and bought a gtx 1080 to run the monitor), task manager said that none of my resources were maxed out, they were hovering between 50-53 percent on average.
  10. Since you're mostly going to be using this PC for gaming, a lot of the benefits of Ryzen and aren't relevant for you. I'd recommend choosing any modern i5, since getting an i7 won't increase your gaming performance by a noticeable margin.
  11. If it's for mostly schoolwork, you would be fine with a much cheaper laptop(like this one: https://www.amazon.com/HP-Premium-Business-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B07551S9CJ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1508451421&sr=1-1&keywords=i7+laptop&refinements=p_n_feature_fourteen_browse-bin%3A2057441011%2Cp_n_feature_four_browse-bin%3A2289792011%2Cp_n_condition-type%3A2224371011), but if you REALLY want to spend that much on a laptop, then i'd recommend either the "Acer Predator Helios 300" or the "Acer Aspire V 17 black". Both of those have a MUCH better graphics card, for around the same price if not cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Tracking-GeForce-GTX1060-VN7-793G-709A/dp/B01N6VFLLZ/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1508451519&sr=1-3&keywords=gtx+1060+laptop+6gb+black https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-GeForce-Backlit-G3-571-77QK/dp/B06Y4GZS9C/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1508451519&sr=1-2&keywords=gtx+1060+laptop+6gb+black
  12. Recently, i updated the realtek audio drivers to the most recent version, and something strange has happened. Before the update, my headphones would only work if I plugged them into the "pink" audio jack(I have no clue what it's actually called), but now, they only work if plugged into the "green" jack. The sound is completely different, however, i'm not sure if it's because of the update or the change in jacks. I was wondering what the difference between the green and pink jack is, and whether or not it's possible to fix the issue
  13. Right now, if you live near microcenter, the Acer XF270HU is on sale for $400. It has great reviews(but noticeable backlight bleeding on some pabels), and it's 1440p, 144hz, ips http://www.microcenter.com/product/478859/XF270HU_27_WQHD_LED_Display_Monitor_w-_FreeSync
  14. I recently bought the msr7's, which sounded a little underwhelming, they weren't as clear or crisp as I wanted, VB I think it's because I bought the cheapest motherboard st the time, so the audio might be a bit iffy. Would you record getting an external amp or dac?
  15. I was wondering if the integrated audio on a cheap $50 motherboard(more specifically, the Asus - H110M-E/M.2) would be of lower quality than a higher end one.
  16. I'm looking for a 1440p ips 27" monitor that's under $500. Ideally, it would have a refresh rate higher than 60hz. Right now, i'm looking at one of these(but if you have a better recommendation, i'd love to hear it): Asus PB278Q- https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-PB278Q-2560x1440-DisplayPort-Monitor/dp/B009C3M7H0 BenQ GW2765HT- https://www.amazon.com/BenQ-GW2765HT-27-Inch-2560x1440-Monitor/dp/B00KYCSRSG Viotek GN34C- https://www.amazon.com/Optimized-VIOTEK-GN34C-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B074G5G8FT

  19. The thing about that is that for $1030, it doesn't include windows... on the last thread, you said it runs hot, but if that means loud, then it's a big no, i'm in a room full of people. I don't think anyone will appreciate an airplane taking of in the room. Plus, the predator comes with double the ram which is a nice touch
  20. I have a hunch that it's a bit above my budget... hmmm... I have no clue why though? lel. The second i saw liquid cooled i knew that: a) That's going to be REALLY heavy b) That's garunteed to be above my budget The thing about the predator though is that a hardrive can be installed in it, so i could get a 1tb one for like $50 and it would still be much cheaper thant the aspire. But the thing about the aspire nitro is that it looks nicer, that's about all it has going for it
  21. I'll be doing some gaming, i'll be moving around a bit, and also i'll be editing word docs and making powerpoints
