  1. I'm looking for some help/opinions on the best GPU to purchase as an upgrade for my laptop. Current Specs: CPU: i7 6820HK GPU: GTX 1080m RAm: 32gb OS: Windows 10x64 Over a year ago I bought an Alienware Graphics Amplifier for my laptop when they went on sale at 50% off. At the time my 1080 was doing fine but I knew that eventually it would fall behind. Now, as I am starting to look around at available GPU's for an upgrade I can't find any comparisons against m style 1080's to know if I should go with a 1660 super, 2060 super, or 2070 super. I only game at 1080p, mostly RTS and third person MMO's. I would greatly appreciate some input on which GPU I should go with to get an actual performance improvement but not over buy resources I won't utilize. EDIT: This is why you don't post for help after an all-nighter, you forget things. Currently, after repasting with liquid metal, my card still idles around 90F and when gaming will hit 115f. One reason I was looking to upgrade to something in my Graphics Amplifier was to try to help with thermals and it would be a good buy as I will need a gpu anyway when I build my desktop late this year or next year.
  2. I've been using an M570 for years, I'm on my third one now, each one lasts about 3 years. I couldn't imagine going back to a standard style mouse. I work IT for a large engineering design firm and outside of the office managers and receptionist, we use trackballs exclusively due to much higher precision. On my personal rig I game in everything from Starcraft to Overwatch, and World of Warcraft to World of Warships with my trackball. I've never had to adjust the speed of the mouse either, which was something I found odd in the video. I use two 32 inch monitors at 1080x1920 and can go from one side to the other with just a little spin on the ball with my thumb. my style is to give it a flick till it gets in the general area and the correct the precision from there. I don't believe that trackballs are for everyone but many of the oddities they mentioned are advantages to me. Most people got thrown off by those weird palm style and finger style, and those are horrible, they kill your hand with long use. The one exception are the larger palm style trackballs found on a lot of scientific research equipment. All of our scanning electron microscopes came standard with palm style trackballs for the precision they offer at the massive zoom scales those work on.
  3. I was actually a bit surprised at how they described the 15 as heavy, and that no one would want to carry it around. I find my 17 r3, part of the same family, to be fairly light and have no problems carrying it around at work or on trips. To me 13 and 15 inch laptops are just too small for any real gaming or production work. I would like to see a comparison from their point of view between the 15 and the 17 with the 1440 screen and twin 1080 cards.
