  1. It doesn't protect you in any way! That small toy is just marketing crap. There are no HOME protections against Solar Storms and EMPs. And even if it exists, it'd be as huge as a truck and cost $1 million... If you are that scared and paranoid, build yourself an underground bunker. smh As for lightning protection, the best one is a lightning rod that is grounded. But seriously, you can google this stuff and learn about it! But not from toy manufacturers, learn from science websites.
  2. That thing is a scam! The only EMP protection is a Faraday Cage. smh
  3. Hey, I've got a good idea for a video: What if the internet removed all the DNS Servers? Would that affect the internet speed in any way?
  4. Hello. From the title, I have a very Random weird boot issue... It's like this: PC boots up normally, gets to the Windows (10) loading screen, but when it's about to show the Log In screen, I get a black screen. The PC freezes up and all the fans are at max speed. Also the case power and reset buttons aren't working anymore... To fix it I turn off and on the PSU, and it goes into Windows normally afterwards. My PC isn't overclocked at all. The RAM is only set to 3200MHz. And all the temps are good. Also, no mobo error code... My System: MOBO - ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Professional Gaming (latest bios) GPU - EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition GAMING iCX CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 3950X COOLER - Noctua NH-U12A RAM - G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB 3800MHz F4-3800C14Q-32GTZN M.2 - Samsung 960 EVO NVMe 250GB SSD - Samsung QVO 870 8TB MZ-77Q8T0BW HDD - Western Digital Black 6TB 128Mb WD6002FZWX PSU - EVGA SuperNOVA 750 P2 750W Platinum CASE - Fractal Design Meshify C OS - Windows 10 Pro, version 21H2 (no insider) Has anyone gotten this weird issue before? I attached a system info file, if it helps... System Info.nfo
  5. Hmm, ok I'll try to do what you suggested and see what happens. I'm not familial at all with parental controls. Hope I won't screw anything up......
  6. Hey. The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 8. Parental Controls? But for that I need to enable Kids Mode, right? And it looks dumb... Besides, will it do the things I need? All of them?
  7. Yeah no... I still want them to use THEIR phones. I only need it to not let them enable/disable the phone's settings from the swipe down menu. Oh, and not delete/move the app shortcuts from the home screen. What you said, is totally different.
  8. Hello! I need an app that Locks the phone's settings the way I set them. So the "dumb" person cannot accidentally turn off/on a specific setting from the swipe down menu (wifi, data, gps, bluetooth, sound, etc). Also block the user from uninstalling/installing any app on their own. And not remove/move app shortcuts from the home screen. Is there such an app? I searched the Play Store, only to find nothing even remotely close to what I need, The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7 with Android 8, btw.
  9. Hey@LinusTech I watched Steve's review about the Intel Xe DG1 GPU. And the way he described it, left me thinking................. He described it as an APU, but without the CPU part...... Can you guess where I'm going with this? lol I told Steve that, but while writing, it sounded more and more like an LTT video! :))) So basically, can you connect an APU on the PCIe slot and use it as a GPU??? It would require a PCB with a CPU socket on it and a weird controller, though. And use the system memory I guess. It would require a lot of aliexpress "research" too... lol Or custom made, maybe? Come on, THIS is not the craziest thing you ever did!
  10. Oh no no no. You misunderstood how this works. Atmos is not a driver / sound card thing. Atmos is a CODEC, and it only works IF you have a sound system that can Decode Atmos packets. And those "packets" are Encoded into the source file of the movie, i.e. mkv, mp4, etc. You will not get Atmos just by adding 2 more channels and putting the speakers up somewhere. -The movie file contains the audio track. -The audio track is coded by Object based. -The video player Bitstreams those objects to your Atmos compatible sound system. -Your Atmos compatible sound system Decodes those Object based sounds and sends them to the right audio channel. And that channel is All of them, not just the .2 channels. Learn more about it here: https://www.tomsguide.com/us/dolby-atmos-explained,news-26573.html
  11. Hey. For me, I'm just passing the sound through my GPU. No special drivers needed, other than the GPU ones. You talk about a realtek driver, meaning you're using a sound card. All you need to do is set your speaker configuration in Windows playback devices and you are half there. All you need to do is enable Atmos for Home Theatres in Windows playback devices, IF you want Atmos from the Netflix app. This is ONLY for Netflix app. But if it's just for MKV files, then enable Bitstreaming in your media player app, VLC, MPC, or just use the Windows one, it does it by default. All you need to do, is set your AV Receiver to Straight every time you watch a movie. As for speaker placement, if you have Dolby Atmos Enabled speakers that fire upwards, then they need to be placed at 1m above the floor. Or on top of your front tower speakers. If they are normal speakers, then place them 2m+ up on the wall. Not the ceiling. And that's pretty much how you achieve it.
  12. Are you still looking for an aptX HD dongle? How about this Bluetooth 5.0 dongle from Creative, it has aptX, aptX HD and aptX LL: https://us.creative.com/p/speakers/creative-bt-w3 I got it for me, and it's cool.
  13. Hey! This is not a meme or anything. But didn't know where to post it... So I was browsing YouTube, when........................:
  14. And the award for big pp goes to.......? He answered and agreed to fix it. He said he has a lot of work, that's why he's not replying... Well, hopefully his to-do list will empty fast... Thank you for your help!
