James Roche UK's Achievements

  1. I am about to do a very expensive build and I am looking to potentially do nvme raid 0. I am looking at the hyper m.2 x16 by Asus but I can't find a solid answer about compatibulity with Samsung drives. I know of vroc will not work with non Intel but will 4 separate drives show under Windows if I populate all slots with Samsung 970s? Would a software raid be possible? I plan to use the rampage extreme vi board and 4 500gb 970 Evo drives.
  2. Different cable sorted it for me! Was actually the same brand i already had just a different(longer) length so i imagine the old onewas just poor quality or damaged.
  3. What sort of difference does the soldering make? I dont plan on overclocking so i didnt think it justified the 100 GBP hike in price? I dont know too much about this delidding business
  4. Hi Guys, I am looking to setup some 10gb links to my local file server, i have seen quite a few 10gb SFP+ card on eBay for fairly reasonable prices but i am confused by all; the different chip sets and seemingly chip set specific cables. Can anyone recommend some good low budget 10gb hardware? Preferably a small switch (4 PORTS?) and some compatible cards. I dont mind buying used but i dont have old school pci.
  5. IF you can get node available in the office I could write you a small program to catch-up the ones you are looking for
  6. Still getting flashes :O, I am going to see if I can find your cable in the uk
  7. Yeah that makes sense, though you should probably explain why you think users will use twice a week for a real business plan I would say. Maybe you could check with other students to see how they are handling the criteria.
  8. Yeah I have looked it up, you can replace all of teh bits inside, I think I will buy it with no CPU, No storage and no RAM and just fit it all myself. The QHD 120HZ model with a single 1080 is £2216, I can pick up the 7700k and ram from amazon. Really appreciate your sending that link! This is better than I could have hoped for!
  9. WOW! the Obsidian ones are amazing! the single 1080 model is pretty reasonable too, if I dont buy the SSD/HDD there I can get one with a 1080, 32gb of ram and a 770 for less than 3k!! Do you know if the parts are upgradeable later? Trying to find info on their site
  10. Any brand to go for? Loads of the amazon ones do not list throughput
  11. I think that will be my next move if this doesn't work. The cables I have were not the most expensive
  12. So you process is to check if a lien starts with Copia (creazione) or whether it ends with a number? that should be simple enough to search for. Something like reading the file, splitting it by line break, removing empty lines, query for group 1(Copia) query for group 2(filename ends in number) and then outpouring to csv containing just the line or the file names?
  13. Just completed the process, and downloading the drivers again. It could have potentially been my old drivers as I swapped out a 980ti for the 1080ti at launch. This app has an option for a clean install of a new card.
  14. You should check out the RPM for similar apps. Its usually different for different markets, I have a fairly popular sticker app on the android store and the RPM from AdMob I get is about £5.35 which is fairly decent, you would have to guess at how many impressions you would get per user and the amount of users you expect. There are tricks and ways to get more impressions based on how you design your UI so you should try and factor that into your mock business plan. FYI Ad revenue per thousand impressions (RPM) A good business plan around an app with ads would contain a breakdown of how much money you would make per user with an explanation of how you calculated that and then an expected amount of users over a period of time including which marketing activities will lead to sign up and the costs associated with that. You then use these figures to work out your cost per user and finally your profit per user. I am not sure how in depth your mock plan needs to be though.
