XPS 15 9550 screen tearing in adobe programs
Shortuse replied to KevinSpanish's topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Yeah I've found that calling for CS is the way to go. Much easier to get you point across and people tend to listen better when they're talking back to a person in real time.- 8 replies

Happy to hear you should be covered. Remember to report back, I'm really interested to hear what they say to you. Maybe their European phone support is top notch... Who knows?- 8 replies

Call them asap. Every day that goes by is a reason for them not to give you your money back. Razer used that against me but thankfully I bought the device through Amazon and fought for my money. It may take a couple of Dell reps to get your point across but if you're adamant you should be ok.- 8 replies

Buying a razer blade in europe
Shortuse replied to KevinSpanish's topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Yup steer clear from the Blade and try the XPS again. Fight with Dell for your money back, go tooth and nail with them for it and really really stress the issues you're having. -

Interesting that none of the new components did anything to help. It could be drivers, I know Dell was having some issues with BIOS updates at one point not long ago. I'd call up Dell and fight for them to send you a brand new unit, although I doubt they will it's worth a try. Stress how bad the issues are and how badly need the laptop for school. If you do it tell me how it goes. Best of luck.- 8 replies

Buying a razer blade in europe

I'd take an XPS over the Blade anyday. Sadly it also has flaky QC but it still is a better engineered piece of machinery and it won't throttle. -
Anyone running Mac OS Sierra?
Shortuse replied to 79wjd's topic in Linux, macOS and Everything Not-Windows
Nice, Sierra is a decent little upgrade. Runs very smooth on my 13" 2015 MBP. -
Want to buy a new laptop but need suggestions
Shortuse replied to Munken-'s topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Probably only decent if you undervolted and repasted and even then you don't want to play something too heavy. Good suggestions and and to second Pendragon the Blade is a shit show. Runs hot with terrible QC. -
Applying thermal paste isn't that hard. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself you can get probably get a local tech store or even a Best Buy (if you're in NA) to do it for you.

Well if you're gonna get a Blade get it from them, at least they won't force you to deal with RMA bullshit. -

Seriously, listen to this guy. Don't get a Razer laptop, you'll certainly regret it. They come off really nice but the QC is nonexistent. Gone through two Blades already with the same GPU bugs and after a seeing a couple other users talking about this thing's temps I looked for myself and at idle I'm getting 90 degrees celsius for the CPU. Ridiculous. -
Decent concept, crappy battery, screen and trackpad. I'm genuinely curious to see how this thing performs, I'd like to see a manufacturer actually succeed at creating a good cooling system for once. I'm intrigued by Razer's and now Acer's low profile laptop mechanical keyboards, I really need to try one out.
