  1. Thanks for the info. After that, however, it still wasn't working. I had to call LG support and I found out that you have to enable HDMI Ultra Deep Color in order for the 4K 60Hz option to even be available. That's pretty dumb imo, I expect monitors to be plug and play, but whatever. Point is, it's working now. Thanks for the help
  2. I have been using the Nvidia control panel to adjust the resolution. I just attempted to use the Windows display settings to fix it, but to no avail.
  3. After attempting what you said, emosun, the display was still running 4K @ 30Hz. I made sure to restart the computer and power cycle the monitor as well. Unfortunately isolating the monitor doesn't resolve the issue.
  4. I dont see how it could be the computers fault, as when both monitors are connected through DisplayPort (one is 1440p 144hz, the other 4k 60hz), they work just fine. It has only been with HDMI that I cant reach 60hz, so I assume the problem has something to do with the cable. I also tried varying price ranges for the cables. The one I got off of Amazon was brand new and cheap, and the one I got at Home Depot was fairly expensive considering its offerings. That said, I am starting to believe that the HDMI ports on this relatively cheap 4K monitor could be at fault, though I highly doubt it is. Thats why I've chalked up the problem to being due to the cables.
  5. Both of my DisplayPort ports are occupied, so that is unfortunately not an option. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll edit that into my original post so people don't simply suggest it again.
  6. I've been attempting to get my 4K monitor (LG 27UD60-B) working at 4K @ 60Hz with some HDMI 2.0 Cables. I didn't have any, so I bought one off Amazon, from the AmazonBasics lineup. When I tried to use it, 4K was only working at 30Hz, I contacted support and we chalked it down to being due to the cable's length of 10 feet, and have since returned that cable. Afterward, I got a 6ft cable from Home Depot that claimed to be 18Gbps, so I assumed that one would work for sure. When I connected it, I was met with the same fate. The display was still running 4K @ 30Hz. Does anyone know a solution to this? My computer shouldn't be the issue either, as I'm running an RTX 2080, which is more than capable of outputting such a resolution. Some cable recommendations are appreciated as well. EDIT: I am unable to use my DisplayPort ports, as both of them are occupied. One by a high refresh-rate monitor and the other by a VR headset.
  7. I don't know if it's on sale now, but quite some time ago I got the Dell S2716DG and I have not regretted the purchase at all. The monitor has a professional aesthetic, which I personally prefer over gamer-ish accents, and comes with G-Sync. The only real downside is the TN panel but that has literally never been an issue for me. Besides, there are some guides you can find on Reddit on how to properly color calibrate it. I got mine for $400, so if you can find it for that price, I 100% recommend it.
  8. I have two monitors connected by DisplayPort, and it happens on both. Its definitely a software issue, not a cable issue.
  9. I've had this problem for a while now but I need to address it. My computer is totally fine, and all the hardware properly installed and all that, but I keep having an issue I'm totally unable to pinpoint the cause of. For some reason, my computer will randomly have bars flash on the screen and will randomly freeze for a couple of seconds for no reason. It happens during both intensive and unintensive tasks. I believe the issue is either down to something to do with the CPU (8700K at 4.5Ghz, I've put it at stock, still happens) or something to do with drivers. Anyone know of a way to troubleshoot this, or possibly fix it altogether? Thanks in advance.
  10. They're all basically the same, you'll at most see a 5 to 6 degree difference, but if it's a good quality one, like arctic silver or the ones that come included with Noctua fans, or even the ones on the bottoms of AiOs, you'll be fine.
  11. After putting it at stock settings, the issue seems to have stopped, which is weird, because I did it one time before and the issue persisted, but now I can't replicate the problem. Oh well, I guess, I don't really have time to dwell on this that much, but thanks for the help!
  12. I'll see to that. I'll try to get back to you on that soon, thanks.
  13. So for a while now, I've been having issues with my computer just randomly crashing while doing something intensive, like playing BFV, and it'll just blue screen with the error code "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT" and other times, I've gotten different codes, but I can't recall them. This issue has been occurring since I swapped from my Ryzen 5 1600 to my new 8700K, so I think it could be something to do with the PSU (Is an EVGA NEX750G powerful enough to supply an RTX 2080 and 8700K at 4.8Ghz?). But other than that, I don't really have any other theories as to why it could be crashing. I've updated all my drivers, run stability checks, and nothing seems to provide a definitive answer.
  14. WIll this g.skill ripjaws v kit work with an asus prime z370-a? I have some spare and was wondering if I could give it to a friend https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820232090&Description=ripjaws v&cm_re=ripjaws_v-_-20-232-090-_-Product thanks for the help
  15. Hey, so I'm trying to move my OS (as well as everything else) in my 250 gig ssd to my new 1TB one I got on sale. Does anyone know any good free disk cloning software? I've tried Acronis and EaseUS, but they keep asking me to buy it. Besides, I'm a bit skeptical.
