  1. Hey blackie, thanks for the response. This was something that I was expecting... Anyhow - was worth trying I guess I'll start saving for some budget desktop setup to which I will plug in rx580.
  2. Hey Guys, So I have a little bit of a problem with my gaming setup which I'm rocking in a city where I come to work every 3 weeks for 3 weeks. My first and major headache is that I have at my disposal an i5 MacBook Pro (TouchBar) from late 2016 - the sad dual-core one. For making it more graphically endowed I have gotten a Razer Core X with RX580 inside of it with an external screen. In order to run the game of choice - PUBG (no laughs there please) - I needed to create a nice external drive with Windows on it with Bootcamp drivers (not really hassle-free experience). Now I had luck running many games quite well, but PUBG seems to be quite heavy on a CPU which basically bottlenecks entire setup. So the help that I'm looking to get from you folks is - how to make things run a little bit better overall with a very tight budget (something like 200EUR - I'm Europe-based) and without the actual opportunity to sell any of the current parts :( I was looking into optimizing somehow cooling capacities of the MBP, but I think it won't do enough... So here it is - please help me the great LTT Community! Cheers, Janusz
  3. Hi Guys, I've spent quite some time on it already and I know that some other users were struggling with it on the Internet, but I couldn't find any neat solution for which this forum is famous for! Long story short - I bought 27UD88-W to have a beautiful monitor for my desktop workstation, but I wanted to be able to occasionally attach my notebook to it. Yes, I know that 4K on HP Spectre 13-v050nw is quite a lot of strain on that integrated graphics card, but for my use it was more than enough - I have desktop workstation for other stuff. So, after connecting HP Spectre 13 to the USB C port using supplied USB C <-> USB C cable I'm able to display video out to the monitor, but the monitor itself is not being charged. Tried all the 3 ports on HP Spectre, I have updated BIOS and Monitor Firmware, but it seems to make no difference at all. Something curious to me was that when I took my notebook to local Apple Store I was able to use LG UltraFine 4K display (or whatever it's called) both for the display and charging station. Maybe someone of you already tackled this issue and found out there is no solution and I just have to attach monitor and charging cable to the notebook. Maybe you guys found a better solution? Let me know, I was really hoping that I will be able to leave the charger at work and keep monitor as my charging unit at home. I ended up ordering a second USB C charger, but the idea that there might be a better solution doesn't let me rest. Thanks in advance for any solutions or even just more ideas to test out! Best, Janusz
  4. Maybe this is really tied to Creators' Update - I ran it on my Desktop which is on Insiders' Preview and I witnessed the same thing - strange. Anyway, still huge fan of your work guys! EDIT: Just been thinking a little bit more about it -> could it be that some JS doesn't recognize the OS/Browser which makes it start some endless looping? EDIT2: @colonel_mortis I just fired up a console and this is what I've found: As you can see in the right corner, the number of errors is quite high - it's because they are being fired in an endless loop.
  5. Hey Guys, just tested it out in Chrome. Some new findings - it happens on LTT Official section of the Forum on single reviews - no need to even hit that reply box. On Chrome it's not as memory heavy, but it's still eating up CPU like hell. I'm on i5-6200U - it's not a performance beast, but I experienced something similar only on extremely ad-heavy websites.
  6. Hi Guys, not sure if this was reported previously by anyone, but I already stumbled upon this twice. Whenever I open reply box on a topic in Edge it starts going bonkers on CPU load and memory use. Below you can see it for yourself - it stays that way until I leave the page. My battery suffers from that and I love reading the Forum on the go!. Did anyone else experience something similar? I'll try to see whether this also happens for me in Chrome.
  7. Okay, if LG 5K is not the best choice for PC User which USB-C monitor should I get? Whenever I try research google for that I get the same list of monitors which are either ridiculously expensive or not available on the other side of the pond (Europe)... Could anyone on this forum help me out on a quest of finding one decent option? HP Envy 27 - only available in Europe as an '27s' model without USB-C LG 4K - it's a bit too small LG 5K - price tag + whatever was said in this review - for which I'm thankful! Lenovo ThinkVision X1 - at this price point (770EUR ~= 850USD) it could offer some sort of decent adjustment Acer H277HU - so far it's shaping as the decent alternative to all mentioned above, so I'm leaning towards it - though, it's a bit old and not 4K
