  1. If you are getting scammed you shouldn’t pay for anything?
  2. This could be a starting point for you. Play around with the parts as you see fit for your specific use-case. 3. You need to mention people or they will not be notified of your response. In any case, try to enter BIOS and disable the iGPU of the Ryzen 7700X: I'm not sure about Gigabyte BIOS, but on ASUS it should be under "Advanced/NB Configuration/Primary Video Device" and switch that to "PCIe"; in the same window you should also be able to completely disable the iGPU
  4. Is it a clean Windows install? How did you manage driver installation/change?
  5. Given your budget I would honestly go with the 7950X3D... Drop the PCIe 5.0 overpriced SSDs and go with PCIe 4.0 ones (unless you can actually saturate 4.0 - I doubt it). The SSDs I picked do not show up with a price on PCPP, but you can find them on Amazon.de. 3235€ - https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/NY2YRK
  6. I would go with the 7800X3D: It consumes WAY less power than the 14700k (up to 3 times less at max load) It provides better gaming performance than the 14700k in most (all?) games (e.g. 7800X3D pulls 200+ fps in Cyberpunk @ 1080p vs. ~165 of the 14700k) 7800X3D is cheaper, allowing you to go DDR5 without increasing the overall build price (as shown in your partpicker) Maybe this video will help you making an informed decision:
  7. What's the wattage it's rated for? On the box you received it in it should say 500W, 650W or something like that.
  8. My bad you need to follow A1 and B1 together, or A2 and B2 together. Disregard what I said about keeping them close to each other.
  9. We can rule out the GPU then. Try booting with only 1 stick of RAM. Also, I have been reading your motherboard manual and you should put your sticks next to each other. The DIMM_A channel are 2 left-most sockets.
  10. Did you try booting without the GPU? Disconnect it from everything (motherboard too) and only use the CPU to check if it the computer POSTs. EDIT: Also double check 8-pin CPU connector and 24-pin motherboard connector.
  11. Looks like a GPU problem. If you are positive that the GPU is correctly seated and is connected properly to the PSU and the fans still don't spin at boot it might be a dead GPU (quite unusual, but possible). Try connecting your monitor to your motherboard. The Ryzen 7600 has integrated graphics.
  12. You can, but it doesn't feel like a good experience. Also Google which doesn't have a "preferred" OS doesn't feel like a good experience (e.g. Photos). A good experience for me means also not being restricted in what I want to do with my data. For example, they make taking stuff out of their platform a PITA on purpose to disincentivise switching to a competitor while maybe you simply want to backup your memories elsewhere. Self-hosting provides a good alternative and is definitely cheaper (if you use the investment for other stuff too) and provides better privacy (if setup correctly).
  13. Also, ECO Mode feels like a must on AM5. I may be biased because I don't need PBO in a server, but the temperature difference is massive (50C vs 80C while transcoding a movie; 38C idle vs 55C idle)

  14. TIL not to use Noctua's low noise adapters. It was literally killing one of the (Noctua) fans it was hooked up to, preventing it from spinning even at max speed.

  15. You can’t build a gaming pc with £100, not even with used parts unless some core components are donated to you.
  16. It just works with anything since it’s standardised. I don’t want to troubleshoot stuff on the go. I circumvent the downside of being “locked in” their ecosystem (same applies to Google tbf) by using Nextcloud for photo backups and calendar/phone contacts. That way it doesn’t feel like I need a Mac laptop to access all my stuff.

Everywhere I go (on Amazon) I see his face:

Click purchase now to make it disappear
  18. Using ASUS's BIOS Flashback tool for the first time was a rollercoaster of emotions:

    • Decide to use flashback tool as normal BIOS flashing is not working (PC reboots and nothing happens)
    • Wait for the flashing light to stop both on the motherboard and USB stick signalling that the BIOS flashing is done
    • Boot up and be met with a text saying "BIOS is still updating" when the manual specifically said not to power on the system during BIOS flashback (thank god I didn't remove the USB stick?)
    • PC reboots, I redo the BIOS config and try to boot into Memtest to see if ECC is recognised only to be met with "PD firmware is updating", which I have never seen and Google returns results about corruption
    • Unraid boots as normal

Well, I am not looking forward to do that again. Ryzen 7600 still running uber hot even after this update (BIOS was still from first release), I guess I have to accept that my Unraid box is gonna have a CPU idling at 50C (Noctua NH-U12S) instead of 27C which I got with the Ryzen 1600.

  19. Please don't update it from Windows. Update it with a USB stick from within the BIOS.
  20. Initial setup is different between "regular" POST. When I had a Razer keyboard back in 2017 I couldn't operate on Asus B350 setup either, I had to buy a very cheap/basic USB-2 keyboard and then it worked. After that I could use my Razer keyboard to operate the BIOS as usual and I returned the keyboard to the shop.
  21. Not all motherboards are ABAB for RAM slots (although most are). Make sure it's not AABB.
  22. Yes, you can use one connector for multiple fans since you daisy chain them as shown also on their marketing videos.
  23. What do the files look like (as in the filename structure)? And to what "separate folders" would you like to sort them into? All the mp4s in an "mp4" folder and all the gifs in a "gif" folder? Or create daily folders in which files created on that day are moved to? I could create a Python script for you to do that once I find a few minutes to spare.
  24. If the price difference is large then I would get whatever is cheapest (with the B650E-E being better than the F at the same price tag). I would also stick with AMD if you value quiet operation. It would help if you could define what you mean with "tinker" and "productivity". Because those CPUs might be overkill for the tasks you are setting out to do as mentioned by @Shimejii
