I've lost files (complete folders) to windows defender, forgetting to turn it off or create exceptions when i download or compile anything from assembler or the likes. So yeah... baiser le défenseur des fenêtres!

So far, as a Dutch person, i've got no complaints. I've got 100/30Mbit (no limits) for 32€ a month, and that's not likely to change. But i know that if this FCC thing is going to lead to limitations or extra costs in the US the development of non-ISP internet alternatives will go into hyperdrive. In no time there will be mashnet networks in cities and/or other alternative ways to get online, which don't require an ISP, or at least not an ISP which is bound to US regulations and laws. Didn't Elon Musk launch the first of a series of sattelites that aims to provide just that sort of thing??

I can confirm that parsec is by far the best one for local lan game streaming. At least from Gaming pc to laptop. I just played an hour or more of assassins creed black flag and it even supported 1920x1080. But as that got a bit blotchy at times i set the resolution one setting lower, and worked like a charm. Even the thrustmaster controller on my laptop worked fine with assassins creed. Others i tried, lite remotr or splashtop were @%&@#&$ compared to this experience. The latter does not support fullscreen and the former does not support controller, at least not the one on my laptop. Havent tried other platforms like android or connections like internet but as soon as i do i'll let you know the results... (ofcourse, this is my personal experience, and opinion. but like the apps i mentioned it is free and may be ignored or disagreed with.)
