EK specifically says it's a GPU block. Either way, I edited my post after finding this: https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc970-gtx-strix-nickel
Cant buy it, but Bitspower has this one https://www.bitspower.com/html/product/pro_show.php?products_id=3964

I personally feel it's a bit sketchy given it's not a full-cover waterblock and doesn't offer VRM cooling.
Thats for CPU not GPU

Gpu Block: 130 $ upwards
most used 970s: 100$
Gives you about 230$
Price of gtx 1060 3gig: less than 210$
Plus 20$ for a nice rgb fan or whatever you like really.
But it if you wanna watercool just to watercool and have fun go for it man.
STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 theres the model number

Can't you get a a much better card for the price of the waterblock and the 970 combined?
I would always prioritise performance
But you don't know how cheap the 970 is, so I know can water cool it well

I'm looking to get a water block for my new GTX 970 once I get it, the problem is trying to find one idk what's the model name but I'll only need a 120mm rad for it and a res of some kind and I would like to do hardline I prefer it over soft tubing, my budget would be $300 CAD and if possible I would like to get a CPU too (the block would need to fit LGA 1366, thanks if you can find it.

it really light honestly. i don't have a scale to weight it but i think you'll be paying for volume in this case
Ok, Im just wanting not to pay lots for shipping cause I want to keep my rig under $300 CAD so that leaves $90

Shipping weight on Amazon is just over 4 pounds, so I'd imagine it'd probably be somewhere between 2-3 pounds for just the card.
Ok

Im trying to find the weight of this card cause Im wanting to check how much shipping is, I dont have the card Im just finding info about the card to see how much shipping would cost (I am getting it only for shipping so it would be budget)

I got the r5 1600x Because Its what I need. A fast chip that I can overclock. Its great for gaming Light video editing and streaming!
Yeah, your a user that uses the 1600 how it was meant to be used by AMD

Just now, Armakar said:
Yeah, doesn't make it the better chip.. in that case, 9590 > 7600K because it scores higher in cinnibench
90% of usage the 4790k is straight up better
The f*cking use cases for the user depends on what chip to get

4790k is not only good its better than any ryzen 5 tbh
No not really, the R5 1600 beats the i7 in rendering tasks

this build is not for me
Oh ok, what are they going to use it for?
-
The best you could possible get is a R5 1400 with a A320 board which they lack in features, and your i7 4790k is good still

Well I’m having trouble posting my rig now, it worked before I changed platforms, I’m just trying to get it to work to resell it since it’s worth WAY more for what I payed for it, I’ve tried resetting CMOS, looked at the error codes, changed ram around, haven’t tried a new gpu since I don’t have a spare gpu, taken out of case for testing still nothing, I’ve done what I’ve thought was good and idk what to do next

Got any pics so that we can see what you're talking about?
I don't have the i7 yet I'm picking it up tonight, but I was thinking of using the M9A's heat pipes as the rention mechinism with zip ties
-
I'm trying to find out if I need to get a new cooler asap or I can zip tie my M9A to it and be fine?

Sounds like a good choice, for about $75 total that's a good base for a nice system. Do you already have ddr3? Remember it supports triple channel memory so you'd be best running a multiple of 3 dims.
I have 4 total dimms but two of them are in my brothers rigs, and for my rig the total comes out to $350 CAD I think

There are a lot of coolers that fit 1366, like the hyper 212+ and 212 evo coolers. I used to use a megahalems on my 920, but it's incredibly large and wont fit every case.
To be honest, almost any larger cooler will work with 1366, most of them have universal mounting brackets that can adjust to fit that larger socket, especially if they fit 1155/1156.
I know, Im probably getting a Hyper 212 LED since $33 CAD to my door without rebate
-
Im getting an i7 920+mobo tonight for $40 CAD but I dont have a cooler that'll fit without zipties so what cooler would work with the i7 920 on the budget and would the ziptie method work with an M9A?
