You can "add" multiple servers, but a few version ago, you could actually control them all from the main server. IE You are switching between servers rather than controlling them from a single interface They also removed the monitoring and graphing for multiple servers in one (Or at least I cant get it to work properly on the latest install so either its been removed or im doing something wrong from the last time I set it up) EG Now you can only see the stats for the server you are connected to at that time. So if you wanted a quick look to see if any of my servers are running high memory or CPU, i have to swap between them one at a time to check And i dont know if its me, but switching between servers is flakey, even though they all have the same username and password, and setup with SSH keys, i still get asked for a password when I switch

webmin, and from what I remember it was more designed for web server hosts then just plain linux hosts. also doesnt support multi server

I guess I was hoping more for a project like cockpit, which was a nice all in one solution Did everything from one panel, and if I spun up a new server, it was 30 seconds and i had it loaded into my monitoring, graphing, updates, etc. i dont mind spinning up a few different things if thats all that is out there, I was just hoping to avoid doing the work if someone had already bundled it into a nice package already

Hi all. I am looking for a way to monitor and manage multiple linux servers. At current I use cockpit, but there has been an update recently (no idea when) which has made it less then ideal to manage multiple servers, it seems to be more of a single server setup now (Yes I know I can add other hosts to the interface, but its still just switching between them rather than the old way of being able to manage and monitor them all from the one) I have had a look at foreman, and some other similar solutions, (ansible comes up alot) but they all either are too complicated, too powerful, or just have too many things on top. such as foreman/ansible more being for automated deployments, or virtualmin being for webhosting. What im after is something which has a single interface which I can run on one machine, where all my other servers report back to, or that machine talks out to the other servers. I want to be able to monitor CPU, RAM, disk, network etc. It would also be nice if it managed (or monitored) updates As well, as a nice bonus. if there is some monitoring and alerting, eg if CPU goes over 80% for too long then alert, or low disk, or even offline. The clostest I have found is https://cipi.sh/ Which seems to be more of a web host solution, but it does appear to do the basics. I may just need to look at a suite of tools to end up with what im after.

Breakout cable works fine and detects drives attached

The cabling was fine with the old HP P410 card, so im assuming its okay. and the fact its detecting the expander and backplane makes me think its all ok. I was going to test with a breakout cable and see what that detects. just need to find the time to do it. yes its old, the problem is im limited in what I can get here, either it costs and arm and a leg, or i have to get it overseas and have it shipped which takes weeks if not months, and shipping costs is often the same if not more then the item im getting, so limited as to what i can get. I believe firmware is all good but ill double check it and see

Hi all. To keep a long story short, I have a HP DL180G6 server which had a P410 raid card The battery on the card died, and since I wanted to move to unraid anyway, I decided to not replace the battery and just get a new card I originally got a LSI card, but iv had problems with it (have another thread on that one if your interested) but after getting stuck I got a HP H240 HBA card Unraid detects the card fine, and detects the servers backplane, but no drives. I booted to ubuntu live and installed the HP CLI tools, and again, it shows the card and backplane, but no drives. I'm currently googling around trying to find a solution or a direction to head, but I figured it might be smart to ask the community as well, as im sure I'm not the only one running into this I have attached the diagnostics from unraid, and a photo of the output from the cli tool (i tried to save it, but being a live cd I forgot it wouldn't save properly) nas01-diagnostics-20221013-2001.zip

I havn't touched any of the cables on the backplane since swapping out from the old working HP card The only cable I have moved is the Sas cable to swap it around to see if that was the problem. If I dont have the cable connected, when booting the backplane flashes its leds, so it is getting power but when I connect the cable to the card, it doesn't flash the leds during boot.

Update Got my hands on a breakout sable, and it is detecting the drive just fine on the LSI card Next step to assume is either backplane or cable is broken or the backplane isnt supported.

im installing the IT mode file from the downloads and either way, id expect the drives to show up on the bios settings on the card, which its not. its a DL180 G6 I tried the latest firmware for the LSI card, but that was having problems, so went back a few versions but still no luck Didnt think about the backplane having firmware, unfortunately no way to flash it as the lsi card doesn't see it

HI all. Firstly, sorry for the long post, I have tried a few things and want to put it all down so I dont loose track myself of what I have already tried. I have a older HP server with 12 drive bays which I have been running for the past few years as my home NAS. I have been running windows on it A) As when I set it up, windows was all I really knew, B) It supported mixed drives using the windows storage spaces C) It ran my backblaze software so I could backup the entire NAS to backblaze I decided I wanted to move away from windows and go unraid, but I knew the HP raid card I had didnt support IT mode, So I got a LSI 9211-8i, Put it in the server and confirmed it showed up in bios, and sold the HP raid card as I didn't think I needed it any more It sat in the server for a while turned off as I didn't have the time to setup unraid on it, till a few days ago. Finally put unraid on and found that none of my drives were showing up. Attached a drive to the onboard sata and it showed up fine. I then went to upgrade the firmware on the card and it complained about putting IT mode over IR mode (or whatever the other mode is, sorry cant remember at the moment) So I found instructions on how to make a dos usb and flash it that way I flashed it to 20.07 but still nothing in unraid. So more reading online said you can boot to the bios of the card and use that to configure it, but when I went to boot into that, I got a PCI error Fatal PCI Express Device Error PCI Slot ? B00/D07/F00 0E I then went back to version 19 of the firmware, and it booted fine into the bios, But in there under the SAS Topology page where I expected the drives to show, it said no devices to display. I tried swapping the PCI port, swapping the SAS cable around, and putting it in slot 1 and 2 cleaned the servers bios to be safe One time I did get it to show HP expander something (cant remember and didnt take a photo) but only once I went to upgrade to version 20.06 on the firmware to see if that helped, but that still got the same PCI error (Although a different error code) B00/D03/F00 0E (not sure if thats to do with changing ports etc?) I did notice that during post, firmware 19 showed LSI but 20 showed Avago, not sure if thats relevant At this point im not sure where to go forward. I know the cable and HP backplane worked fine with the old HP card I dont know if its a problem with my LSI card, or a compatibility problem between the LSI card and HP backplane. I would buy a SAS breakout cable to test the LSI card, but they arn't cheap where im from, and it would take a few days to get here, so hoping to exaust all other options before going fown that path. I do have photos of everything if anyone is interested and can take more on request Or can provide any debug or version numbers, I just dont know what is needed to help troubleshoot so didnt want to dump everything on here Thanks in advance for an help

I tried that with the scan for unknown, then load a level and scan for change, rinse and repeat and i could never get it lower than a few thousand values, and even then when i did a quick scan though i coulnd't see anything which resembled level info (I cant remember exactly what it said but it was something which was along the lines of not in use?) Also some of the levels dont start when the map loads, instead the timer starts when a sound plays and stops when a sound plays rather than unloading of the map, so i was trying to find those values in game but i have no idea how to search for a file play trigger

Hi all I have spend the last 3 hours going around and around in circles trying to figure this out and i have gotten nowhere im trying to detect when a level loads, and when sounds play on a game so I can then make a auto splitter for speed running. i have tried everything i can find online to try get memory values using cheatengine, as thats supposedly the way to go. but now i just feel like im doing the same things which i did an hour ago without realizing. the game is Nerf Arena Blast, its a free download (abandonware) so easy enough to get yourself if you want to help out. Thanks in advance for anyone who can give some input or guidance.

Hi Team I have a magic mirror install, with a calendar module installed The problem is the module doesn't have overflow functionality (if there are too many events for a day it just puts a +1 or +2 etc at the bottom of the list I looked at the support for it and the dev doesnt want to add any scrolling features as its too much for a raspberry pi to handle (apparently) and even those of us who dont use it on a pi (myself) he wont support Iv been looking into the code and so far have been able to use css to detect which divs have overflowed events, and put a scroll tag on that div What im trying to figure out now is how to animate those divs Iv looked as css animations and jquery animations, but this is where im stuck trying to figure out A) how to get the divs with the scroll tag to animate (as it changes when more events are added or removed_ B) How to control the speed based on the number of events hidden C) how to loop the animation so it goes back to the start and repeat when it gets to the end Is anyone willing to give me some help or at least point to some online documents which would help? many thanks in advance

Hi all I have been given a rare opportunity at work to be able to move to work from home in a full time position, Benefit of being forced to work from home for a month due to lockdown has shown that I dont need to be in the office for most of my job, so i managed to convince them to let me stay at home full time. Because of this though ill need to upgrade my home rig a little, mainly my headset At the moment im using just a basic usb headset and it does fine for what I need, but i want to get something more comfortable, and suited for work and play But this is where my problem comes in About half my job is being on the phone, either softphone on my PC or mobile In the office i didnt really bother with a headset for my mobile as I was often out and about, but when i knew i was taking a long call i plugged in the basic headphones which came with my phone and just used those, but being at home I see my phone call numbers going up, and as such im looking for a nicer option for home Ideally what im after is a wireless headset which connects to the PC via USB (dongle) and to my phone via bluetooth Which also allows for quick switching between devices I havn;t been able to find anything which ticks those boxes The problems i run into are - Dual bluetooth devices, (put bluetooth on pc). I cant turn bluetooth off for one device, so my phone will have to always be connected to the headset This doesnt work as when I go for lunch for example, i may still be in range of the headset so id have to remember to switch off bluetooth headset for each call, or after hours when im not taking calls id still want to be able to use my phone without the headset (I have to leave bluetooth turned on my phone as I have a fitbit connected as well) - Bluetooth + wired or wireless Doesnt allow both to connect at the same time, its one or the other, (at least from my reading up on it) - Quick switching For the devices which do allow connections at the same time, i cant find any info about how it works if say I am on a call on my PC, and my mobile rings while connected, does it kick off the original call and take over, or does it not connect, or what else happens - I have found once device which i think does what I want, but it doesnt appear to be avalibale in my country, and costs almost 1/3 extra if not more to just ship it over from like ebay I know i most likely have a very unique situation, and very strict requirements, but im sure something must be out there which does what im after Hope this all makes sense, and hope someone can have some feedback on the matter

I just found the cheapest 8gb sticks, which just happens to be 2666 Looking at a crucial ssd Player count at the moment is around 3-10 on average depending on day / time I dont expect it to grow much but as people invite friends there will be a steady growth But as i said they are all explorers, so often id get 2 or 3 people going out different directions hammering the chunk generation which is where my problem started I did ask them to slow down and it was ok when it was 2 of them, but add a 3rd and things started to slow, 4th and often there would be timouts

cool, Ram i have 16GB in mind, i guess it doesnt matter too much about what type? looking at 2666mhz? Also my question about raided ssd's for write performance, would that help at all? or is that a bit too overpowered for what im expecting I never did a test to see if they were a bottleneck or not

cheapest one i can find on our local markets is nearly $500 Unless i go ebay but those take about a month on average to ship out + we have delays due to our country being in lockdown so would be more like 6-8 weeks to get here

hmm ok so the site im looking at buying from has it listed as no boost haha So im looking at cost vs boost a i3-9100 at $220 boosting to 4.2 vs a i5-9600KF at $360 boosting to 4.6 Is it worth the extra $140 for that slightly higher boost?

so i need to look at the turbo boost clock? i3 @ na i5 @ 4.1?

but im looking for a high clock count as well? So eg a i5-9400 at 2.9 wouldnt do better than a i3-9100 at 3.6? Not the best at hardware ill admit haha

id rather spend the money and host myself, than use a shared host id still have the same problems with a shared host unless i get a overpowered CPU + RAM combination from them, which would cost more than just getting the hardware in the first place

but my understanding is correct of get like a 4 core but a high clock? im currently comparing on cpubenchmark.net and looking at the single threaded performance to see whats better Looking at their rankings for single threaded as well to see whats near the top that I can get here in NZ Is that a good strategy? or wrong thought process?
