Thoughts on possibly trading my 980 Ti + some cash for a Vega 64, then pairing that with a 144Hz FreeSync monitor?

    Apparently Vega 64 can be about 1080 level performance, so I could run higher settings while not worrying about FPS drops because of FreeSync.

    But just be ready for the power draw, i mean it wouldn't be that bad too tho

    Vega 64 isn't much faster than the 980 Ti in Destiny 2 (since you mostly care about this game)

    hmmmmm.... I could just try and OC my 980 Ti and see how it does. May go for a 75Hz monitor though, or 100Hz one.

    You can probably OC your current one to 75Hz.

    I wouldn't. Just wait for the 1100 series to come out and get one of those, and shell out a little more money for a GSync monitor.
