SubSpecs's Achievements

  1. Haven't been here for years. ^^ I've decided to share a special method I've been using to remove greedy/glitched folders from my system for years. What I mean by that is sometimes, folders can't be deleted, even if you were the one who created it. Windows will spout things like "You don't have permission.." or "You need permission from XXX.." etc. Sometimes it will even try to convince you the folder doesn't exist. (aka after say drive corruption etc.) I realize there might be more complicated/straightforward ways of doing it, but this one takes a lot less time to do. There's nothing too advanced/involved really, you just have to simply create an text file, then type the following below, replacing 'SubSpecs' and 'C:\test' with your PC's user account name and the folder you wish to remove, then save the text file as an .bat file. takeown /f "C:\test" /r /d y icacls "C:\test" /grant SubSpecs:(OI)(CI)F /T rmdir /s /q "C:\test" pause Breakdown: takeown - Enables an administrator to recover access to a file that previously was denied, by making the administrator the owner of the file. (/r - recursive, applies to all files in dir.) icacls - Displays or modifies discretionary access control lists (DACLs) on specified files, and applies stored DACLs to files in specified directories. (/grant - gives user permissions.) rmdir - Deletes a directory. Hope this helps some of you in the future. ^^
  2. Well, if your laptop supports it (and I do mean the resolution), then what the heck, try it! If it's a desktop however, I think there is a pretty low chance (but still a chance) that it might work.
  3. The funny thing is, I have an old laptop laying around (Acer Aspire 3000), and that thing can do 120hz WITHOUT even overclocking lol I could try to see what can I get, but whats the point if that thing cant even reach 60fps in, well... basically anything lol
  4. Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) is a data structure provided by a digital display to describe its capabilities to a video source (e.g. graphics card or set-top box). It is what enables a modern personal computer to know what kinds of monitors are connected to it. A bit more info: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU
  5. First things first, I have no idea if I posted this in the right section, as to the fact that I didn't find a section for monitor overclocking. Like the title says, it's possible, if you dream big lol. This is IN CASE you didn't know/or was not posted here before. (didn't find anything) Intel has released their probably "last" driver for some certain CPU's, which has finally unlocked their EDID: If you have ANY of the above CPU, then congrats, because even if it's a laptop, you can start experimenting with your screen's refresh rate. And, if, and only if, by any chance you get the ITD working (doesn't work for everybody, even if it states it's compatible): https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26504/ It might also work for you. (In case your cpu isn't on the list above) Software & Instructions on how to use it are here: https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! (It should be not be a big one, because I have a couple of ppl using custom high refresh rates, and it's been months and their fine.) Some proof: I've heard some masters of virginity on the internet forced a HP laptop to 180hz without frameskipping. But I think, this is also an achievement. Btw, I had no frameskipping, and absolutely no motion blur or ghosting. EDIT: Laptop model: Lenovo G50-80 EDIT2: If anyone needs some settings example, you can have a look on mine: I'am a software developer (C/C++/Javscript etc.) I'am not very familiar with some of these settings, because I don't know them, and not a monitor wizard. So if there is a wizard among us, you could give me some pointers on adjusting the settings, maybe I could pull more hz, who knows. And if anyone needs some help in their programming projects, or have some questions, feel free to PM me -Chris
  6. RGB Throne, for the LTT master race! Fun fact, it actually exists: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2016-New-Bathroom-Toilet-Nightlight-Smart-PIR-LED-Body-Automatic-Motion-Activated-Seat-Sensor-8-Color/32775803266.html?spm=2114.40010308.4.2.zyYEEV Now, who would buy it I wonder... lol
