Is it worth it to upgrade to a 2070 Super? Is it worth it to purchase a seperate cpu cooler, and if so, what should I be looking at for that? Thanks!
  2. Hey! I'm working on my new build and I'd like to shave at least $100 off the price, and I think I've narrowed it down to one of two options. I can either: Move from a Ryzen 3700X to a 3600X or move from an RTX 2070 Super to a 5700XT or are both so minor that I should move down on both and save all of the money? Thanks! Edit: These are the specs I was looking at for the rest of the build: Mobo - MSI MPG X570 - wasn't sure if I could cut a few dollars here as well? Not sure how significant the difference between this or something like a B450 would be 2 x 8 GB sticks of DDR4-3200 1 Tb NVMe & 2 TB HDD 650W PSU I also looked into a watercooled heatsink but I'm not sure if it's worth the money for either of the two CPUs I'm considering I'm mostly going to use it for gaming but I wouldn't mind the extra processing power if I need it down the road, I don't want to break the bank but some futureproofing would be nice
  3. Recently I bought a prebuilt (yes, I can build a pc, but it was cheaper to go prebuilt due to a $750 price reduction), and I've only had it for two days but every single one of the five games I've tested (GTA V, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG, Day of Infamy, and Far Cry 3) have all crashed. Either the game will crash, or I will get a bsod. What is going on? For reference, it's a CyberpowerPC with a 4gb RX 580 and Ryzen 5 1400.
  4. You know those annoying blue-screen errors that completely wipe out your computer? I used to get those about once every two months, and it wasn't an issue. However, in the past few weeks I have been getting up to 5 a day, and today I got upwards of 7. You might ask what is the error text so I can fix it, but I've stopped paying attention because the error messages are seemingly different each time. My theory is just that my computer is on its last legs. Is this true or is there another possible issue?
  5. I used DDU to uninstall my drivers
  6. Drivers completely removed and the latest were instalked, but 3 minutes in GTA V crashed.
  7. Nope, I bought a new psu because I needed the extra watts.
  8. I just bought it when I bought the card. I didn't need this many watts with my old card.
  9. Nope. Tried oc'ing on the old thing and it made a weird noise that seemed to say "I will commit suicide if you do this longer" and I haven't oc'ed anything here because of the crashes.
  10. 1. R9 255 *Ewwww* 2. Corsair VS series 500w
  11. Rx 470, 500w power supply, AMD FX-8300 psu, 12gb of DDR3, besides that I'm really not sure. I bought a crappy overpriced Best-Buy computer about 3 years ago, and am trying to upgrade. That's why some specs are missing.
  12. Just a few days ago, I installed my new Rx 470. Ever since, my games have been crashing nonstop, with GTA V and Shadow Warrior 2 holding the current record for most crashes. Cooling does not seem to be the problem, as it only crashes the game, and my drivers are up to date, I've quadruple-checked. At this point, I don't know what is causing it. Thanks.
  13. The 480 is an amazing card, don't get me wrong, but I am a 1080p gamer who has a 470 4gb, and I can get 60fps or higher on almost every game with max settings. No need in my opinion, unless you soon plan to get vr or a 4k monitor.
  14. It depends on the state really, but in New York where I live we pay a solid 8% tax on everything.
