  1. Budget (including currency): 1000EUR Country: Serbia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: A lot of virtualisation, web/mobile app development (Node, Java, Python), wathcing movies/youtube I am working as a webmaster/it support and an collage assitant at a University. My gaming days are over, i want to get the huge, hot and noisy gaming tower out of my room. I need a computer that is dead quiet and can say running even when i am sleeping or during a day aka 24/7. I will be using this computer to remote into it at work or at home preparing exersises for students or developing new applications for my personal side jobs. This computer absolutley doesnt need a descrete GPU since i am not interesed in game development/computer graphics and will not play games. Also this PC has to be very small and it will sit on my desk in order to prevent it from building up dust fast. First i was looking into making something custom, but then when at work we bought 18 of these Think Center neo 50s with i3s for a classroom i fell in love with how cute, small and eazy to work with these are. I opened all 18 of theme to upgrade the ram. The SSDs are made my samsung and they are literally 980pros just with a black sticker saying samsung nvme ssd (PCB is exactly the same). Also i love the idea of having a cd writer and an sd card slot on my pc since here we use CDs still a lot eliminating the need of a standalone reader. Also these are so silent even while virtualising ubuntu desktop The model i am looking at is Lenovo ThinkCenter neo 50s 11SX002TYA (i7 12700/512 NVMe Samsung/16GB DDR4 SKHynix) The power supplys are standard SSF ones and they are available everywhere so that is not an issue EDIT: When it comes to RAM i will imediatly upgrade it to 64GB (2x 32GB sticks) from my current PC What do you think, is it better to get this one or to build something custom (very limited market when it comes to ITX cases and motherboads here, would need to wait for people from EU to bring me parts etc). What would you change? Thanks
  2. I highly advise you to use Maven or Gradle build systems and to also use InteliJ Idea when developing in Java. VS Code can do a lot but its quite limited when it comes to features required for a seamless Java development experience Make sure to use this https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.mysql/mysql-connector-j/8.1.0 as your library, if you still persist on using the jar files as libraries instead of a build system you can find a jar download button in the Files row of the information table on the upper maven repo link. Here is an example of a connection to a MySql 8.0.33 server running on a Ubuntu Server https://github.com/Pequla/winterland-plus/blob/main/src/main/java/com/pequla/winterland/service/DatabaseService.java
  3. Same problem here. I got 2 Dell 27" displays 1080p one connected via hdmi and the other one via the DVI-D to HDMI connector. I also got a Gigabyte RX560 2GB OC. At first when i plugged in the 2nd display as soon as i start a game with openGL i would get artifacts and then i would have to reboot the pc. Then it started happening on the desktop too as soon as i power it up. I reinstalled windows 10 and now only one of my displays has the picture in desktop. I know that all of theme are working since the motherboad boot image is shown on both and as soon as windows login screen pops up only the HDMI - HDMI display shows the image. The other one is not detected in the settings of both windows and amd software. I know the other one is working since i can drag windows into it as well as hide the mouse (yeah its strange). I tried another exactly the same rx560 (i got it for me and my brother so we could play csgo at that time) and the same results. Is this something relating to the polaris architecture. I then tested both of the displays with a GTX1660 Super and they work even though one of theme was connected via DP to HDMI adapter. Message to moderators: Yes i know this is and old thread but i wanted to leave the info i found relating to this problem since this thread is the first thing that pops up on google when you type "rx560 2nd display not working". Thank you
  4. I get odd color full shapes, they change positions and move around, they get worse when i want to manipulate with windows, ex move a window or minimize it or maximize it. Strange indeed! EDIT: Finally found the way to describe theme, they look exactly like the broken lcd screens have those odd triangles and what not in different colors
  5. As the title says, this is so strange. I first got one and then got another one monitor (both are DELL S2721HN). Problem is when only one monitor is plugged in, there is absolutely no issue but when the other one is plugged in i get artifacts only after fullscreening once Minecraft. This happens only in Minecraft. My other monitor is connected with a DVI-D HDMI cable since my gpu has only one hdmi port. I use 2 monitors to speed up development, i develop java apps of any kind but minecraft plugins are common part of my job, so if my minecraft cant fullscreen then i am screwed. Things i tried: - Reinstalled drivers forth the latest and latest recommended once using DDU in Safe Mode - Reinstalled Minecraft - Tried my old monitor and the new one, no matter the port any of theme use same happens - Looked at logs, nothing appeared Is my gpu toast, If it is i will then just get a basic gt1030 since i dont play any games except minecraft (sometimes but rarely CSGO). But would like to find a fix since i dont wonna spend money when its not urgent. My CPU: R7 2700X (stock) Motherboard: ASUS B450M-A RAM HyperX 2666Mhz 4*8GB PSU Chieftech GPE700S (Popular and trusted in Eastern EU) Monitors: 2*DELL S2721HN Thanks PS: During this summer i had issues with this system, WATCHDOG BDSDs and after i reseted the cpu this august it started freezing randomly and then just crashing (i reinstalled windows and fixed this crashing issue). I got the i5 9400F gt 710 system bc i just did not have time to troubleshoot it during the summer. Overall i am unhappy with ryzen, spent a lot of time setting this up in order for the pc to work as expected. What did I miss Maybe these crashes point to somewhere, in the meantime i will use the i5 system (and i have absolutely no interest in putting parts from the ryzen pc into this intel one - since i need to have one stable pc available 24/7)
  6. Download the latest drivers first from the nvidia website, then boot into safe mode with networking run ddu and then reboot, when back into windows run the installation as fast as you can, then just wait for theme to finish, after its done just reboot the computer and hope that it fixed your issues
  7. Try reinstalling the GPU drivers, my spare pc with GT710 had BSDs after the 2004 Windows 10 update, it might help. try to verify the game files integrity too. If none of it help try reinstalling the games that crash or even reinstall windows and do it all fresh !
  8. Done everything except trying other psu, i will probably need to do it at some point but i need to borrow one from a friend since the one i have in the other pc is 400W same model series as in this pc (GPE400S). Return thingy you do in US doesn't work here... EDIT: I forgot to mention i did not test another board! But will buy a new one 150EUR+ board and will see if it works
  9. Updated bios to the latest version, tried all the version that are on the website still noting, I dont think the PSU is the problem, i am pretty sure the motherboard is toast. under high load vrm is at 47C (stock cooler). What motherboard you guys recommend, i was looking at the Asus B450F strix (its the only one available rn and for other b450s i need to wait 20 days). Maybe a B550, or an x570. I will sell one application soon so i will have money to buy whatever motherboard is good (not some overpriced gaming board but a good one and stable). for psus i cant ask you guys bc market here is a little bit different form the EU and US (no corsair only chinese silver colored junk or cooler master or chieftech, importing isnt an option bc it will take 5+ months and then i am better just overpaying the cooler master...) Should i get the https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Pro-WS-X570-ACE/, seems like a good one that should do the trick with no rgb (thank God). Also i was thinking on upgrading the memory, what kit you recommend (Kingston's every model is available here, corsair not sadly).
  10. Hello, i have a very very strange problem, 2 moths ago my pc started behaving like this: Just randomly (i am browsing with Chrome or writing code in IntelliJ 90% of the time on my pc) i first lose ethernet connection and after it in the same minute i lose all the usb ports and boom i need to reboot via the case reboot button. About a month ago i started getting bluescreen's with WATCHDOG VIOLATION, i knew it had to do with my cpu, so i just disassembled and cleaned all the components and built the pc again. BSDS went away but after the few weeks the no ethernet and then usbs die thingy started happening more often (aprox 4 times a day). I also noticed that my pc sometimes only when its night time after the screen goes balack stays on for couple of more minutes. What i need to replace in order to get my pc to work properly, or even better fix ot for no money (if possible). This happens both on Linux (Ubuntu 20.04LTS and Ubuntu 18.04LTS as well as WIndows10). As i am a developer i need my pc to be stable, and if possible it should cost me minimaly since i am a student trying to gather enough money to pay education. BTW this hasn't happend for the last 5 days but somethimes when it happens my pc is unusable, in those days i just use my old amd A4 4000 pc (it can only run Netbeans and Chrome and thats it...its that bad) CPU: R7 2700X MOTHERBOARD: B450M-K ASUS RAM: 2x 8GB HyperX Fury 2666Mhz GPU: RX560 2GB GIGABYTE PSU: Chieftech GPE700S SSD: 860EVO 500GB HDD: 2x WD BLUE 1TB 7200RPM PS: My county is known for lowering the voltage from 220 to 200 or even 190 volts so you spend more KWpH so you pay more, thats why i got the Chieftech psu (Easter Europe optimesed, we use it in servers here a lot). Motherboard is crappy i know but it was a bundle with my ryzen 7 for 300EUR and i just couldn't skip it since i was broke at that time. I might get a new one anyways.
  11. Sorry i raged, i didnt put on this forum that i tried 3 other ssds and still is the same My bad, thatnks for the help anyaways
  12. At this point i think that you didnt read the whole post, i done it 4 times while i swithing ssds, tried linux mint (the lowest spec distro that supports apps that i need and ITS STILL NEARLY THE SAME
  13. Not only chrome, literally whole OS is irresponsive and slugish, i have seen penitum 4s for lga755 with 2 gb of ram that handle windows 10 much better and yet they are slower than e1 6100
  14. Its still sooo strange how the ssd doesnt help at all, in that Pentium laptop adding an ssd made it run literally 5x faster, so strange, could it be literally firmware related in any matter That Intel Pentium T4150 laptop has a ded battery and a new one is 50EUR so i dont feal like its worth saving that old and fat laptop, but i might actually go it although its sooo fat, not practical for my application at all, i might try to find something else in my pile of laptops
  15. Problem is it worked faster like 6 months before, it went slugish recently, i mean yeah its bad and all of that but i still think that this is fixable, hay even a pentium laptop i own from 2010 is at least 5x faster (its battery is ded), this amd laptop is thin and light weight compared to the pentium laptop i own I am not talking about how to get used equpment nor how good hardware you can get free in America, i am talking about how is it possible that in few months of not using a computers it becomes soo slugish
