  1. I like using portforwarding for my games. I'd like to create a static IP address for my VPN. I am new to VPN is there anything I should know before creating a static IP address on my VPN? My VPN has many profiles, private, streaming, file sharing and so forth. Does this mean I'd need to create a few static IPs? Image attached.
  2. 1) Metal Gear Rising 2) Dark Souls Remastered 3) Shadow of War
  3. I was giving this some thought for when friends come round. I need some suggestions on how to set this up? I was thinking of Borderlands 2 but we have our own monitors and we play online. Other games we could play are Destiny 2 and Gears of War 4 etc. How would I set this up?
  4. I have solved the problem. For those of you wondering where the high-contrast settings can be found. Use the magnifying glass down beside the Windows start button and type "high-contrast setting" Press enter. Here is how I fixed the almost complete black out problem. I fired up my laptop that is also on windows 10. Used the magnifying glass. Typed "ease of access centre" pressed enter. Chose Set Up High Contrast. It tells you that you can toggle high contrast on and off with the following command. ALT + Left Shift + Print Screen. Please mark this post as solved.
  5. I Was messing around trying to get a black theme. I think I went to the high contrast black section. then made all the subsequent windows below it black and enabled it. THe problem is that its soooo black i cant find my way back to the setting to change it back from high contrast black. CAn someone put down the commands required to set it back to high contrast black off ?
  6. It is a 30Gb ssd inside. I don't want to reinstall as I am certain it will just fill up and do the same thing again.
  7. Hi Folks, I have a new college laptop and it continually tries and fails to update to the latest windows 10 update. The thing is there's hardly anything installed on it. The only things I installed to it was Microsoft Office, VLC, Winrar, f.lux and Ccleaner. The update says it requires 8gb to update it. The laptop has a 30gb hdd and it's only got about 500mbs of free space with only the few programs I added. The constant notification about the update is driving me mad. 1) How can I update or 2) Stop the constant notification telling me I can't update due to storage space requirements?
  8. I have a Z270F motherboard. Is i7 8700K and Ryzen 7 1800x compatible with my motherboard?
  9. Thanks again Jade. I'll try 6000kbps.
  10. Thanks Jade for your answers. This now raises some more questions. 1) Not sure how to get partner or associate status on Twitch since I'm a n00b. I can always google search it. 2) If Twitch now allows 6000kbps bitrate am I right in thinking that requires a 6mbps upload speed? I have 9.60mbps upload speed so what would be an ideal bitrate for me?
  11. I have only just started streaming so I need to learn more about it. Here is my PC/Specs - https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/InfamousGeezer/saved/TyTLkL 1) I'd like to know how to reduce the delay of my stream. I'm using Twitch. 2) I have a spare GPU (EVGA 1060 6GB) I could put into my PC. Could that help my stream in any way? 3) I can use both Geforce Experience or OBS to stream. Which is better? 4) OBS if I understand correctly allows you to stream with x264 (a CPU powered encoding) or NVENC H.264 (a GPU powered encoding) Which is better for my system? 5) I hear that Twitch limits you to 3500 bitrate? Is this true and does Youtube allow higher bitrates when streaming? The streams I have done so far have been running quite good at 720p @ 60fps. I'd like to get the best and most stable stream possible. Here's a link to my up and download speeds. http://beta.speedtest.net/result/6494192197 **Request to the Admin of Linus Tech Tips Forum** Can you please add a streaming forum since I have placed this into the PC Gaming forum as I thought it was the closest most relevant forum to post this in. Thanks!
  12. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like my framerate to be as stable as possible. So I want my GPU to run at 165hz ALL the time. I don't want it dropping below it or going above 165hz. Why? If I was playing a shooter like CS:GO and my fps is going up and down all the time. Does that not mean that my aiming is off because the refresh rate is changing all the time? No consistency.
  13. The thing is when G-Sync is enabled. Dooms fps is saying that it's running at 200 fps and my GPU can only handle 165hz stable. What annoys me about G-Sync is that unlike V-Sync. V-Sync will know exactly what your max refresh rate is and lock it to your monitors max refresh rate but with the problem of input lag. I wish that G-Sync knew what your monitors max refresh rate is like V-Sync does.
  14. From what I understand about G-Sync it will match the frame rate of my GPU. However if I was to use RivaTuner to cap my frame rate does this hinder G-Sync?Here's an example of what I'm currently doing. I am playing Doom and when V-Sync is off within the game. The max fps is 200fps. My monitors refresh rate is 165hz when overclocked. I don't want my GPU & CPU trying to push out frames it can't display so I'm choosing to cap the frame rate with RivaTuner to 165hz. Here's what's bothering me. Does using RivaTuner have the same effect as running V-Sync? Does it have the same problems that V-Sync has such as stutters and input lag? What's the best way to cap frame rate without any penalties using G-Sync?
  15. I just got a new monitor 144hz with G-Sync. I wanted to experience higher refresh rates. I was playing Doom with in-game V-Sync off. When V-Sync is off the games FPS goes up to 200 which is not stable. I managed to make it stable by using riva tuner and capping it to 144hz. Here's what I need to know. Does capping the frame rate using riva tuner cause input lag? What's the best way to cap frame rate without any losing any input lag.
