  1. Dang 2-3 times per year? lucky i get a internet outage at least once a month. Yeah wish the upload was a bit more i think they have another plan or two, but only available in certain area.
  2. Audio noob inbound. So my Astro a40's came broken in the mail, and am thinking about making the switch to headphones+mod mic. To be quite honest, it didn't really sound any different nor was the mic any better so for moneys worth i don't feel like i got it. So i want to take a different approach. What i will be mainly doing is gaming and listening some music, can't forget the anime. As for what music and games, well Shooter games like battlefield, pubg, h1, etc. As for the music stuff on like monstercat and maybe some rock/metal nothing too heavy. Ok? so what is my budget and what am i looking for in a headphone? Well....for headphones i am looking for something better than the Astro A40 of course, can fit my big head, and has the "fabric" like earpads. As for the budget something like $200 with the modmic 5 included. I will also be using my old astro mixamp with this combo for console and maybe pc, depending how the onboard does. Should these headphones be ok with the 2013 astro mixamp? What i was looking at: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S332TQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Look pretty comfy. Any opinions/suggests would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the such sloppy typing i just wanted to get the post over with lol.

    Headset suggestions

Good point, guess i will just order the astros then.
  4. Before the comments come in... no i don't want to get headphones and a separate mic. lel. Budget is around $150 and want "cloth" like earpads. For PC and PS4 use, and will also be using my astro mixamp with it at times. What i currently am looking at: Leaning towards the astro currently, because i have the 2013 ones and they are comfortable. https://www.amazon.com/ASTRO-Gaming-A40-Headset-Xbox-One/dp/B014LH5LH4/ref=sr_1_2?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1494098265&sr=1-2&keywords=astro%2Ba40%2Btr&th=1 https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Gaming-Headset-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B00SAYCXWG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1494098279&sr=8-1&keywords=hyperx+cloud+2

  6. So i am looking for a cheap 1TB SSD to store games maybe some other files such as videos(recordings and movies). Budget is around $260. These were the two i was looking at Crucial for speeds, and SanDisk for MLC. I see people saying MLC SSD's will last longer so mainly the reason why i am looking at it. Though it's not for certain if i will get another SSD quickly due to the still high prices, may get a WD 1TB Black for now my now pretty old 1TB Green drive. https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-MX300-Internal-Solid-State/dp/B01IAGSDUE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1492490368&sr=8-3&keywords=crucial+mx+300 https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-960GB-Solid-SDSSDA-960GB-G26-Laptop/dp/B01LY5ZZ4P/ref=sr_1_6?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492490377&sr=1-6&keywords=1TB+SSD So if anyone has any suggestions or feedback please let me know.. EDIT: also found this https://www.amazon.com/Mushkin-REACTOR-Internal-Solid-MKNSSDRE1TB/dp/B00PAFJJRA/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492490377&sr=1-5&keywords=1TB+SSD
  7. If you know someone with a costco membership (if you are in the US), They are currently selling the acer predator XB271HU monitor for $500. Which is 1440p, 144hz can oc to 165hz, g-sync, and IPS!
  8. If you got a Costco close by, and know someone with a membership card go pick up the Acer XB271HU for $500. Make sure they got some in stock though. It is IPS so if you decide you want 27 inch definitely give this a shot. If you get a problem with it you can return it within 90 days which is nice.
  9. Need some thoughts/opinons. Going to use a old desk i had in the garage, however not enough legroom space.Think i can take off one of the the sides for the cabinet/drawer area? While having decent support for the desk top.

  10. Is this what they call BLB? http://imgur.com/9QVsBLC

you could either return it or ask Acer for an RMA

Well driving 15 minutes to get another one would be quicker then sending it. just wasn't sure if it was worth replacing it. Though the bottom right corner is really annoying in dark scenes.

i would try replacing it. there's a chance that there'll be some BLB, but i'd try

  11. Well a bestbuy has the 27 inch dell on display, however the acer one is not out for display in either bestbuy or costco. stuck myself. $100 more for 27 inch, and ips. it might just be worth it tbh.
  12. Ok so my local costco has the acer predator for $499 which is $100 more than the dell monitor....what do you think? should i get it.
  13. Do you think i should try the dell monitor first since it being cheaper. and if i don't like it (it being a TN) return it and try for the acer?
  14. yea a new acer=way out of budget, well if i waited a month or two it wouldn't be. ^^^impatient here^^^ lol. I sent a email to acer asking about it they said it was tested to meet "standards" and should be like new. Also i can return if the monitor has blacklight bleed or has 5 "dead" pixels then i would have to pay for shipping to return it. So with that reply i guess a little bit more uncomfortable with it i guess. Also what do you mean the dell is just behind the acer?
  15. Will be using a gtx 1080 and was looking to upgrading to 1440p and if possible 144hz. the monitors i was looking at are below. Also for what games i will be playing mostly shooters, and the latter with games like gta, skyrim, for honor...So 144hz would be a nice extra perk. Also i may play other games however with all these upgrade wallet will be hurting for awhile...should be good in time for steam summer sale though lol. Dell S2417DG (New) $399: 1440p, 165hz, G-Sync, TN ASUS MG279Q (Refurbished) $400 would be $450 with 1 yr warranty with squaretrade.: 1440p,144hz, IPS Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz (Refurbished 3 month warranty) about $550: 1440p, G-sync, 165hz, IPS Not sure what to go with. G-sync would be nice for the lower frames i may get on 1440p. I haven't owned a TN panel so i can't really give my thoughts on how the colors look to me and compare. I mostly game and browse the net anyways. Plan to use the monitor for hopefully 3 years. Also would like to add my head sits about 30" inches at most from monitor, usually like 27 inches when gaming so i think a 24" inch monitor should be fine. Thoughts?
