  1. Lol, now I can't even replicate it with my OC enabled. It's just gone. Earlier, though, I did get the issue to occur with stock clocks. I would still like to know what caused it. I'm thinking it's software related, otherwise I would probably have artifacting in games and the such. It even appears to happen underneath my rainmeter widgets, meaning it must be only on the desktop layer itself.
  2. To date, the best mouse I've used. I've tried options from Corsair, Razer, and a bunch of weird Chinese companies (like Zelotes). The Logitech G502 has features I could never give up now, such as the infinite scroll wheel functionality.
  3. I am familiar with how normal graphics card artifacting functions, as I used it to gauge my highest stable overclock. It does not occur anywhere apart from on the desktop. It does occur with different wallpapers, but no, it is not always in the same spot. It shifts and grows randomly. Right now, it's not even there. It has been gone for a good half-hour now. This just started happening. I've been using this overclock for months with no issues. I even have a relatively low boost to my core clock because Doom caused artifiacting awhile back, so I dropped it further, and naturally, that fixed the issue.
  4. Yes, but I have been using the overclock safely for quite awhile. I also removed it and the artifacts persisted.
  5. Unfortunately, yes. Also, I have been using this wallpaper for a very, very long time
  6. Does "W" open Windows Ink Workspace? If so, you have the same annoying bug myself and a bunch of friends got after playing GTA V, for some reason. It triggers something with keyboard shortcuts on some builds. I don't quite remember how to fix it manually, but for me, it eventually fixed itself in about an hour. I had to do a manual fix for my friend. I know there is a way. By any chance, have you recently played GTA V? Lol. It seems to make this happen to a lot of people. Edit: Try some suggestions from this Reddit post.
  7. What is creating those giant red "artifacts"? I know it's not normal artifacting, because it can be hidden beneath windows. I'm using the same version of wallpaper engine and the same mild overclock on my 1070 I've been using for months. This version of Windows Insider has also been used by me for more than a month. No new/unrecognized programs are running in task manager. They come and go randomly, sometimes in different places and in different shapes/sizes.
  8. In the off chance that someone with a similar problem is reading this thread today, the probelm was the motherboard. MSI's support was horrible and the board was sent back to me with the same problem after an RMA, but I then got Newegg to force MSI to replace the board for me. Everything is working great, now.
  9. I recently built a new system (full specs at bottom of post) and it ran perfectly for three days. After that time, it began to shutdown when under heavy, graphically intensive load. When it shuts down, it will attempt to restart repeatedly for about 2 to 5 minutes before finally booting to a screen that states that the BIOS has been reset. At first, I suspected the graphics card. This was not the case, as I tried running my integrated graphics and had the same problem. I eventually swapped out every part I had spares of for troubleshooting apart from the CPU and the motherboard (as I don't have extras of these components). I RMA'd the motherboard, as I was nearly certain it was the cause. A couple weeks later, I got the very same board back from MSI and it had the same exact problem. I still suspect the motherboard, and I am about to buy a new one from ASUS, but first I wanted to make sure that the CPU could not be causing this. Prime95 runs flawlessly with no crashes, so the CPU seems safe to me. The motherboard seems to be the only cause of this issue. Should I RMA the motherboard a second time? Should I go ahead and buy a new one from ASUS? What are the chances of the CPU causing this? All responses are greatly appreciated. Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K @ stock speed w/Coolermaster Hyper 212X (will overclock if I can get this system working at stock) GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0 RAM: 16gb (2x8) G.Skill Ripjaws V @3000mhz (ran at 2133 for troubleshooting) PSU: EVGA Supernova 650 G2 Motherboard: MSI Z270 SLI PLUS Storage: 1x Samsung 850 EVO SSD (500gb); 1x Toshiba 7200RPM HDD (2tb)
  10. Yes, every time my PC randomly shuts down, it power cycles several times before finally clearing the CMOS/resetting the BIOS.

  12. I made a post yesterday about the system I built a few days ago that began suffering from random shutdowns and insanely extensive power cycling/bootlooping. A helpful user helped me diagnose the issue as having to do with the GPU, however, I can now confirm this is not the case, as the system now shuts down (albeit less frequently) on integrated graphics. After it shuts down, the power supply makes a repeated clicking noise for several minutes as the system turns on and off repeatedly. Is it the power supply or the motherboard causing it at this point? I ran extensive tests on the CPU and RAM, and those seem to be fine. The power supply is a concern of mine due to the clicking noise and the fact that it shuts down sooner when I am drawing more power. The motherboard concerns me as it is a new part that I have no reason to trust, and every time it shuts down and bootloops, it clears my CMOS. Any input would be greatly appreciated! Luckily, all of my parts are still in warranty, so if necessary, an RMA can be done.
  13. Will do. Hopefully that works. No matter what, if it's the GPU or PSU causing the problem, they're both from EVGA, so at least I get that support you were talking about. Gotta look on the bright side. Thanks for all your help!
