  1. Yea I knew that would be an issue. However do you not think I could run it at 95Hz without freesync?
  2. Sometimes I need someone to tell me its not worth it so I don't spend a whole crap ton of money. it's ok to Debbie down sometimes. Really? I guess I just thought that last generation top tier stuff would still be able to hold its own. I don't see myself getting a 1080ti until its 5 gens out of date, due to their high price. I actually don't do that very often. I would've liked to get back into 3D design, but money. Right now this rig is mainly for gaming.
  3. then maybe I should just not buy a monitor at all? I currently have a 2560x1080 75hz panel at 29 inches. if that's the case I need to fix just cause 3 really bad. I was worried Destiny 2 would have that problem too , and that would kill the game for me
  4. I aopparently cant find a 21:9 1080 monitor for less than $500. At that price I may as well go with the higher resolution one Also the difference between 75hz and 95hz. Is that even really noticeable?
  5. I don't intend on replacing my graphics card any time soon just because of the inflation
  6. so at that point I would sacrifice high res textures with high res display? at that point it almost seems to even out
  7. I am looking into getting a high refresh rate monitor. I currently have a 21:9 panel and a 144Hz 16:9 panel. I want to get a high refresh rate 21:9 panel. I am currently looking at a Crossover brand monitor from Korea. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Limited-Crossover-3412UM-AHIPS-BOOST-CLOCK-95Hz-3440-x-1440-34-Gaming-Monitor/332309880567?rt=nc&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D45728%26meid%3De102ecdbab654dd3a885aad4a7eb89b5%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D6%26mehot%3Dag%26sd%3D222529104468&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 I really do want this monitor and I have bought Korean monitors before. But I also don't want to be disappointed if the higher resolution isn't worth the extra money involved. So by that I want to know that my graphics card can handle that and I also want to know if I will even be able to tell the difference with the higher resolution. So my question is with a GTX980 (non Ti) is 3440x1440 worth it? or should I just stick with 2560X1080? I play -skyrim -fallout4 -starcraft II -just cause 3 and when it comes out destiny 2. I am mainly building for Destiny 2 because I really loved the first one. Should I shoot for 3440x1440 with 95hz (which for me is more than playable) or should I save $300 ish for a standard resolution of 2560x1080?
  8. I do I just wanted to post pictures in a specific space
  9. thank you. I didn't realize this information was here.
  10. How do I embed pictures on this site? I used to use photobucket and that worked great. But now its so full of ads and popups that I refuse to use it. I tried to embed using flickr but that just posted code. what am I doing wrong?
  11. Thank you. Do you know of any user exeriances with this display?
  12. Has anyone heard or had experiance with this? I cant seem to find very many reviews https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0723GZSYH/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1503431776&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=144hz+3440x1440+monitor&dpPl=1&dpID=51guqlyqfsL&ref=plSrch Thanks in advance
  13. Yea and thats what I saw too. There a few places that reported one resolution. But I agree that Samsung's website is most likely right. There is someone near me selling one for $250 and that seems a bit low for a monitor that nice
  14. Ive looked this model number up a couple times. Some places say its 2560x1080 and others say its 3440x1440. Whats going on here?
  15. As unfortunate as it is. If you want to save the cpu you could try to disable 2 cores. It would make it a 6 core cpu but you could probably still use it. Theres a chance though, that if your Bios disables 2 working cores. In which case you may be out of luck Another thing to try is a clean OS install and an update chipset driver. You could also update the bios as well.
  16. Thanks everyone. That's actually really helpful. If I were to go with water cooling I was going to get the nzxt kraken. Its nice to know that they stand by their products.
  17. I am just curious more than anything. Is there an AIO that exists that has a warranty so strong that the manufacture covers or replaces damaged parts in the system? I personally would not have enough money to replace my system components if something like a leak would to happen. This is why I air cool. but I cant help but think I could be a bit more interested if there was something like this
  18. And that's very possible. Especially since I don't even know if those drives are clean. They could have old OSes on there that i'm not aware of. But wouldn't clearing the CMOS fix this?
  19. ah yes. Sorry about that. I had some old drive lying around and a SSD too. There's is a 320GB HDD and 128GB SSD installed. I also unplugged those drtives and same results. Alternatively I also tried to start with a windows 10 flash drive installed as well. All had the same result
  20. Hey everyone, Today I taught my Girlfriend how to build a computer. I watched very closely and everything is properly plugged in. We're having an issue from the first boot though. Every time we boot it, it will show the bios splash screen then goes to a black screen with just a mouse curser and then just black. After this point, I cant get any response out of it. No Num lock LED, no beeps nothing. However, the screen goes black. It does not say "no signal." All of the Fans continue spinning during this time as well. I feel that Also should mention that I am using a TV because I don't have an extra monitor. This means that some stuff if cut off due to overscan. We are using -GIgabyte 970a-ud3p motherboard -FX-6300 CPU -Gskill Ripjaws Ram (2 x 4gb) -Rosewell 450W PSU -R7 360 2GB (I have 2 of these but only using one. I have both a Gigabyte and an MSI version of this card) These are extra parts I had lying around. These parts have all been previously working for a long time in previous builds. The only part that is new is the PSU. I have tried resetting the CMOS a few times. I have tried both sticks of RAM in each slot one at a time. I have tried unplugging everything from the mobo. I have tried switching the graphics cards. I'm a bit stumped. Everything seems just fine as far as hardware goes.
  21. As W-L said. It works fine for blowing off computers as long as you have water filter. However if you dont plan to use the air compresspr for anything else, either get a very small one or just an electric blower
  22. I once had a Dell dimension The things I did to that computer. I took the propritary Dell motherboard and power supply and put it into a gateway case that I thought looked cool that I found on the side of the road. The case did not line up to the rear IO hole, or the rear fan hole, or the pci slots, or the motherboard holes. I used a dremel amd literally like 40 cutting wheels to cut out a new IO hole, rear fan mount and just like a gaping hole for pcie slots. Aditionally I drilled holes for the motherboard and psu. I didnt have stand offs so I made chunks of wood with holes in them for washers to mount my motherboard. After I got the psu and Mobo mounted, I wanted to cover the gamping hole where the rear fan was. My solution was to take the perforated metal piece that used to be there before and still 3 wood screws though it and some surrounding metal and into the fan just a little bit. After all this, I wanted a window. So I cut one and used some random plastic that found to make a window. Then I wanted some LESs. So I solderes together some Christmas lights. To power them I cut one of the Molex power connectors off and solder directly to the other wires. I did the same to the fans, hdd indicator, power indicator, and even the gpu fans to give it that " lively look" No stick of ram matched There were cut wires on the psu The case clearly didnt fit the motherboard I used wood for spacers There was less just tapped into random wires The power and reset board from the Dell had wires soldered to it for the gateway case buttons Leds were soldered to literally any power spuce I could think of. This Dell survived for 2 years befpre one day just not turning on anymore. It was already 5 years old before all this. This was my very first computer
  23. you were right on the money! problem solved. Glad it was an easy fix
  24. I'm going to try this right now, I have a feeling that's what it might be. I'm all air cooled
