  1. I'm trying to install windows 10 pro on a clean ssd. I used to run windows from my nvme ssd but as I want to use that drive for arch linux I need to reinstall windows on the other ssd. Windows tells me it can't install on the drive because it's disabled in the bios, which is in IRST mode since I have a raid array. I have tried loading IRST drivers from my motherboard manufacturer's website but to no avail. This video didn't work, and neither did this thread. I tried installing windows with the sata controller in AHCI mode and that went fine, but made it unbootable from IRST mode. Can't even switch sata mode every time I boot my pc as the raid array is also my game drive, and it gets disabled in AHCI mode. Any ideas?
  2. I got 7 fans in my enthoo pro but it's complete overkill, I only see a minor temperature difference when half of them are off. 4 fans should be more than enough. I actually removed my basement cover to not restrict the airflow from a bottom fan giving air to just the gpu, and got two fans sucking out the waste heat of the gpu as it's an open shroud model so the hot air doesn't get sucked through my top rad. I'm using two static pressure optimized fans as intake and exhaust and it works just fine, so don't worry about that too much. With your current situation it's probably best for your temps to put one NF-F12 in the bottom and one in the back for the gpu air if it's an open shroud, putting the silentwings in the furthest back top slot but this'll work best if you remove the basement cover. If that's not aesthetically pleasing to you you can keep it on too but that'll make the bottom fan and Pure 20 fight each other a bit which isn't optimal. Depending on if you left the harddrive cages in the front fan may actually be more than enough for the gpu though, personally I got the bottom one filled which restricts airflow a bit.
  3. Afterburner can control the fans through the fan headers on a Strix card? I actually have nothing plugged into my motherboards case fan headers, but if afterburner can control those with gpu temps I'll just go with that
  4. I'm not sure if you can actually use something like speedfan to control it as the fans are controlled through the GPU as I want them controlled by GPU temps.
  5. I have 4 fans connected to my NZXT Kraken X62 and they go all the way from 25% to 100% pwm. However my Strix 1080Ti decided that it won't let my Asus FanConnect-ed fans spin at anything lower than 44%. Does anyone know how to make it go lower/edit the config file that has that 44% number saved somewhere? They're the same fans (Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000 140mm PWM) so I know they can go lower.
  6. After googling some more I found this razer chroma fix, absolutely ridiculous. It is now solved. https://steamcommunity.com/app/379720/discussions/0/1696043263506488752/
  7. It's running on an 8x pcie slot which doesn't seem to impact the performance in both benchmarks and other games. Doom only has vulkan/opgengl options and they both suffer from this issue. Both the gpu and cpu are overclocked fairly heavily. The drivers are up to date.
  8. Whatever settings I use and whether I use opengl or vulkan the fps doesn't feel smooth and refuses to go above 120 while frequently dropping to 80. I got an 8700k and a 1080ti, both are never used over 50% so it seems weird that it should go down that much. vsync is off, gsync enabled on a 165hz monitor. Does anyone know the solution?
  9. 8700K, 16G DDR4, Asus Z370-A boad with a 970 EVO M.2 SSD The windows installer media installed windows onto the ssd and the bios detects it as a bootable medium. When trying to boot however I get a black screen with a blinking white line at the top left corner, not unlike the cmd, and the entire screen flashes 4 times and then it kicks me back into the bios (yes ctrl+alt+delete throws it back into the bios immediately). Anyone know what's wrong?
  10. I only use around 1.1tb on my current hdd, and the premium for 1TB more storage is not worth it for me. Any good 2TB drives? Is there any way at all to fix my drive? Make windows ignore the broken sectors and reduce the total storage space while keeping a functional drive?
  11. My Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 64MB 2TB drive seems to have failed (check attached images). Today when I was busy laying games I started getting random hangups that last several minutes only to occur again a few seconds after one wears off, making gaming undoable. Luckily this isn't my boot drive and just a steam+random junk drive, but it'd still suck if it was beyond saving. Copying files is a pain as explorer.exe crashes every few minutes while doing it, forcing me to reboot as waiting for it to restart doesn't help for some reason. All the important documents, pictures, etc. are saved, so any possible data loss doesn't matter at all. I got the drive about a year ago, but I do not have the complete packaging or receipt. Should I try to claim a replacement anyways? Should I buy a new drive? Is there a way to "fix" this drive? If I have to get a new one, any suggestions of a good reliable 2TB drive that won't kick the bucket within a year? Help me guys
  12. That is why I was looking for a program that shows if something is bad or not, but i couldn't find any on google..I'm not sure they even exist
  13. How do i know if that is dangerous or not? D: It shows lines of letters but I don't know too much about the regedit.
  14. I want a software that opens a .reg file and says what it edits before I use it on my windows registry, I don't really want to be screwed..does anything like that exist?
