  1. I'd say people are interested because not many YouTubers(or content creators) actually follow up on "such tests", in this case being 1 year dust-accumulation benchmark thingy. I guess its intriguing. I've personally not seen more than 3-4 videos of people doing such long follow-ups with their components etc. It may also give people an idea how long they can get away with being lazy and not cleaning their cases(me included).
  2. We checked in the manual, in fact downloaded and cross-checked the physical one with the one online and there is not a single mention of that specific LED position. It does say about standard bios beep codes and what errors they represent, but he doesn't have a beep speaker. The problem is OP and me don't live in the same city otherwise cross-checking and plugging in different parts wouldn't be an issue to double down on what specific component(s) is(are) faulty. OP has made a post on ASUS forums I think. Hopefully they can help out to specifically point out what the issue is. He even installed a new RAM stick but it still crashes like that.
  3. But he is not sure if its the PSU or GFX card. On this video if you see The Mobo at the end has orange-ish blinking. That's when the system (hard)crashes. Did some googling and there is no concrete answer as to which part the Orange LED blinking represents, specifically for ROG Strix B350-F model. Some said it is the PSU some said it could be RAM or GPU and a few answers were the Mobo itself. So if there could be a place where there is proper documentation of exactly what is the orange blinking error related to which exact component that could be RMA'ed. Can't use guesswork as to what part is faulty and RMA it like that. Also no scope for swapping out parts from another PC as he doesn't have one.
  4. Ryzen 5 1600 ASUS ROG Strix B350F Zotac 1080ti AMP Extreme edition G.SKILL Trident F4-3200C14D-16GTZR Corsair 750W PSU
  5. Problem with that now is it doesn't even allow him to get into Windows and the display hard crashes before that. (OP's friend here. We've exhausted almost all soft-fixes such as installing updating BIOS etc.)
  6. We know only 2 so far(officially) -- Ryzen R5 1600X = 6c/12t Ryzen R5 1500X = 4c/8t Targeted price range -- higher 100$ to about 300$ Source: this video Linus & others can't speak about it, coz its still under NDA! Ryzen R3 might possibly be like i5, i.e. 4c with SMT/HT disabled but at a lower than i3 price point.
  7. That's what I'd like to believe. Not saying that's the case, but all things are pretty much pointing towards ASUS being incompetent. IKR, that's exactly why I said shouldn't believe it until reviews are out. But I mean... part of me wants to give Corsair the benefit of doubt -- why would they risk their reputation by releasing such blatant misinformation.
  8. Yo, not saying we should believe this. BUT... Corsair is showing a Ryzen build running with all the memory slots populated at 3000MHz, albeit on the MSI Titanium motherboard. As always, take it with a grain of salt, reviews are just a couple of days away. Also, Steve from HardwareUnboxed, says he was having problem with ASUS Motherboards(no mention about what in specific). ___________________________________________________________________________________________ So just putting it our there -- maybe... just maybe -- the memory issue can be pinned down to ASUS only? Becasue so far from whatever other reports I've read, nothing seems to suggest that other mobos are suffering with the same issue. Could be wrong... Man this wait is killing me... f**k NDAs & embargoes LOL!
  9. @Ryan_Vickers -- Yes, and which brings us back to the actual point at hand -- better off waiting for independent reviews instead of trusting companies(and their marketing material) and random people on the internet. And that is why I'm upset coz Linus "unprofessionally" decided to fuel that rumor, and now plenty of people are right away assuming that the memory can't even run at higher speed even if 2 slots are populated, and blowing it out of proportion. Which (take it with a grain of salt) doesn't seem to be the case:
  10. Also, that MSI info-graph is LITERALLY the same when you check their manual for Intel mobos! Source for the image above.
  11. Yeah that's what I'm saying wait it out till some independent reviews are out then make a call. And the product isn't even released yet. Also, Gigabyte posted a BIOS update, possibly addressing the memory issues. So the whole "will take 1 or 2 months" statement seems a bit far-fetched. My problem is with people fueling rumors based on 1 source before a product even launches, and everyone goes batshit crazy right away! IIRC -- same problems happened with X99 based processors at launch as well. Didn't see that much of an issue being made about it, which is funny when you compare it to how people are outright berating Ryzen before its even released.
  12. And why exactly should I trust you or some bloke from OCUK? For all I know you and them could very well be an Intel fanboys trying to spread misinformation. Which is why I said -- "I'll wait until some professional websites do some thorough reviews regarding the RAM speeds and compatibility." What part of that statement was hard for you to understand?
  13. Seems like click-bait AF to me. Why should I believe 1 random bloke on the internet claiming something? Yet, at the same time, another random bloke on the internet is claiming something else? Yeah, I'll wait until some professional websites do some thorough reviews regarding the RAM speeds and compatibility.
  14. Yeah I know its pretty annoying. Using a blower and vacuum cleaner I can clean it only so much. And I'm not even sure if it will be worth the effect to get the GFX-card up to their service center to get it cleaned thoroughly becasue its something I can do myself easily had it not been for the damn sticker, LOL!
  15. Hi, thanks for your response. The fin-array is of aluminium on the CPU Cooler. The GPU heat-pipes I'm not sure if its nickel plated with copper underneath or just aluminium. Unfortunately there is a + screw with a warranty sticker on top of it. In order for me to expose the die shrink, i.e. completely separating the board and the heatsink. But if I remove that sticker I will lose the warranty!
