  1. First ever build, would love to hear your thoughts Rx480 8gb strix oc i5 7500 16gb 3000mhz corsair vengeance led phanteks eclipse p400 tempered glass 120gb Samsung evo ssd 1tb wd blue hdd
  2. Awesome! Got a new desk coming and bits too so I'll make a post on build logs with pics once it's all done!
  3. Basically what I'm aiming for is decent high/ultra setting 1080p ultrawide performance and pretty shiny leds everywhere
  4. Yeah I thought the PSU was ok, previously was looking at a corsair with a green label till I got linked to PSU tiers by somebody! I have the speakers already, they were £200 ish. The keyboard was £120, but I know someone who's got a business contract with a supplier, so I haven't paid these listed prices. I paid £1350 for everything in the pc part picker list (£1550 if you include the speakers I already own!)
  5. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vJ6tr7 So I know I've spent loads on RGB stuff and silly peripherals, but I wanted to and it's all down to personal preference. What do you think? 6. Thanks for all your comments, really helpful From the benchmarks I've looked at it seems like an i5 7500 should be absolutely plenty for 1080p gaming? Did not think I'd be able to fit an 8GB 480 into this build, wasn't sure if I could go with a cheaper mobo as I was worried about whether all 1151 chipset mobos are compatible with Kaby Lake.
  7. So this is my first foray into building a gaming PC. I've done a bit of research and read a few feeds on this forum so hopefully I'll give you all the info you need! I'm looking to build a tower (OS not included) for £800. That's a hard limit, and can't be exceeded. Uses - 1080p AAA gaming - General use - No video editing or rendering This is what I've come up with so far : https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/86KhYr PCPartPicker part list: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/86KhYr Price breakdown by merchant: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/86KhYr/by_merchant/ CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor (£193.99 @ Aria PC) Motherboard: Asus PRIME B250M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£76.98 @ Amazon UK) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory (£85.49 @ Amazon UK) Storage: Samsung 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£53.97 @ BT Shop) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£45.78 @ Misco UK) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 480 4GB NITRO+ 4G Video Card (£199.99 @ Amazon UK) Case: Phanteks ECLIPSE P400S ATX Mid Tower Case (£68.95 @ CCL Computers) Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£51.95 @ Overclockers.co.uk) Total: £777.10 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2017-01-09 23:31 GMT+0000 A few questions I've got - 480 4GB Vs 1060 3GB? (Seen the recent driver update/Vulkan/DX12 benchmarks and seems like the 480 is the best bang for buck. Don't want this to turn into a green Vs red post though!) -Should I swap out the 120GB SSD & 1TB HDD for a larger SSD? M.2? -Potentially swap out 16GB RAM for 8GB and spend that budget elsewhere? - Is this PSU any good? If not which would you recommend? Thanks in advance for any hints or tips!
