  1. Thank you for your interest, and my apologies for the late answer, been busy with classes a lot. Here is a link to my Laptop I am plugged in, my power settings are set to High Performance I have latest drivers and Chipset drivers installed. I have next to no software installed at this point, only essentials (Skype, TeamViewer, AIMP, Media Player Classic, Steam and Origin) -- The only software that was required for the laptop was the peripherals- WLAN, Ethernet, Fingerprint scanner, Sound card. Other optional installs include Intel Rapid Storage Technology, Sound Blaster Cinema 3, Control Center and my mouse driver. It is a fresh Install of Windows 10, from an image made directly through Microsoft Media Creator, activated with a key after the install, all Windows updates are installed. I will download the tools you have named and post the results after I get back from my classes today, Cheers!
  2. If that's the case I really dislike mobile platforms more and more now *sigh* Never should have wasted my money on 'high end' stuff I guess, should have salvaged an old HP laptop and kept on playing Warcraft III
  3. Welp, What can I say, I'm sad, Tried bringing my good old desktop, but sadly they aren't allowed in dorms (College sucks) I guess I'll just play around with the settings until I can find something that works properly, oh well
  4. I had my Virtual memory set to 8192-8192, Doubled that to 16384 now, gonna restart, and lower some more settings and try again. About that performance thing, I would expect a 7th gen Intel to run games smoother than my age old Phenom II, My desktop cant get frames that are this high- but at least it runs stable at 40~ frames.
  5. Actually, Monster is the brand- *smiles* and all my Advanced settings are turned Off
  6. A- Most of the settings are lowered below recommendations, I have experimented with various settings and I see no difference if I decrease them or not B- Planning on buying another stick of 8Gb ram in the future C- Tried in Single Player aswell, getting same results sadly D- Changed every setting I could find into High Performance preferred Even tho, GTA isnt that bound to the GPU, given that the graphics look meh even with people running 2x Titan X's. My settings are not really that demanding, are they?
  7. Hello everyone About a week ago I bought a Monster gaming notebook, the full specs are as follows: Intel Core i7 7700HQ 2.8-3.8 Ghz 6MB Nvdia GTX1050 4Gb 128B DX12 8 Gb DDR4 2133mhz SODIMM with a 1TB Seagate ST1000LM048 HDD SATA-3 7mm 128MB currently and an SSD to come; 17.3" IPS Matte LED Screen Backlit keyboard, numerious pheripherals etc. Runs on Windows 10 Pro. As exciting as this was for me given that I now have a way to have fun in my free time during college, I am getting highly noticeable stuttering in GTA Online, which leads to major dissapointment. In my attempt to pinpoint the issue i've tried various things, before I talk about them here are the settings. As you can see I've lowered most of the settings below Nvidia's recommendations, apart from 1 setting, Ambint Occlusion, but here is when it gets interesting. It doesnt matter which settings I use, NVidia's optimized settings, my prefered settings or the lowest possible I can set. I still get stuttering whatsoever. Any help would be appreciated at this point hence I'm extremely new to any sort of new hardware (My old and faithful rig is a M5A97 - Phenom II X4 - GT630 combination - lol! ) At first I thought It could be thermal throttling given that it is a notebook after all, but the laptop runs on a high performance cooler, the temperatures roam around 70-80 degrees under load, and the fan control doesnt even go up to 100% when I'm getting the stuttering ( I run the fans at 100% when I'm gaming, tried automatic to see what happens during stuttering) neither does the CPU cores reach their max speed or clock down (the CPU clocks up to 3.8Ghz under load, sits around 3.4 during GTA) As I said above, any help is appreciated.
  8. Update 2: A little bit more relaxed now. I have succesfully managed to boot into my Desktop and everything seems to be working..ish. The computer is very sluggish and takes several seconds to perform even the simpliest of tasks (Right Click - Refresh) I assume that it is a driver conflict, tho before I take any further action, I would gladly appreciate any sort of advice
  9. As someone who has ever been a mandatory AMD fan due to pricing and just recently (Yesterday) got a PC component that was made not 4 years ago; I can say, at least for my own humble and possibly incorrect opinion, I'ld say, even tho Ryzen definetly looks promising, let it sit. God knows what kind of bugs / incompatibility issues, errors. glitches we will have with such a new platform. This is just my opinion that may give you a few thoughts that havent crossed your mind before. Remember, its not buy and forget when it comes to PC. Everything will be different, your favourite programs or beloved everything else may not work aswell with a better performing CPU. But I may be and possibly are wrong
  10. UPDATE: After hours and hours of testing different OS images on different flash drives with different BIOS settings I finally managed to get a succesful Install screen and went into recovery settings, Sadly there seems to be no Startup Options settings amongst all other settings. Tried Startup repair option, now my Windows says its repairing Disk Errors. We'll see how that goes. Meanwhile, if anyone knows how can I disable / remove my Nvidia driver through command prompt that would be appreciated, hence I cannot access Safemode for some reason
  11. 2 things that I wonder- 1) If I am to plug the HDD into my desktop and remove the NVIDIA files, would it work? 2) Assuming that this error emerged after the NVIDIA driver installation, why it still causes issues during USB booting?
  12. Doing that in the meanwhile aswell, Alas, being where I live, it takes forever to download a simple 3.5GB OS, Exactly 50% through the download right now.
  13. I have contacted them, they said the GPU drivers have major issues running with the updated windows 10 versions, and I need to do a clean install. PC was working fine up until NVIDIA driver was installed, and been trying to re-install the OS ever since. I came here to see if I'm able to find a solution to remove the NVIDIA driver, otherwise I'll return in tomorrow to get it fixed. Worthwhile, any ideas will be appreciated Edit note: Up until today, the GTX1050 Notebook driver wasnt present in NVidia drivers website. only today I see it added.
  14. Earlier this week I ordered my brand new Laptop to assist me in my college adventures- ha General specs being 17.3", an i7 7700HQ, a GTX1050 and 8gigs of DDR4 ram, 1TB hard drive and an SSD to come.. Comes in as Freedos, supports nothing but Windows 10. Fine, I install my Windows 10 which I got about a year ago, It was version 1407 I believe. and BAM! I cant install my GPU driver because "This NVIDIA Driver is not compatible with this version of Windows 10", first dissapointment being that, went online and checked some places, found out that I need version 1607 to install GTX1050 Notebook drivers. Left my computer to update overnight, after painful hours of updating with my pathethic internet connection, I install my NVIDIA driver without any problems, feeling fulfilled and sleepy at the same time. Moments after the installation was completed, the computer freezes, restarts into black screen. Here's where the torture beings. I cannot boot into Windows 10 I cannot boot through the same flash drive I installed Windows 10 from (MBR Partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI) I cannot boot through a different drive made of same Windows 10 image but with a different setting(GPT Partition Scheme for UEFI) I cannot access Windows recovery, falls into black screen after Automatic Repair loading. Well, so far, those are the things I have tried, I apologize if the thread is written sloppy or in the wrong section, I havent slept in 2 and a half days and cant seem to get this fixed, talked to the laptop manufacturer aswell, they tried to enable/disable some settings through BIOS - like disabling UEFI and Secure Boot etc- nothing changes, even If i boot through the USB Media, I see a Windows logo, a loading dot circle, afterwards I get a black screen with nothing. At this point, I am nothing but stuck. Help
  15. I'ld sit and think how I'm gonna get a new one given that I have to work for a new one and need a computer to get through the whole job&stress process.
  16. Also, here is how the thermals look like when the CPU runs Prime95 at default Clock and Voltage
  17. One thing that got me curious tho, Even tho the cores are obviously being underclocked to prevent my AMD going Grill (Haha, see what I did there?) how is it still passing the Prime95 tests? Why arent the cores failing? Why Prime95 shows no failure while other applications (Namely only being GTA V) crash?
  18. Well, after a bit of digging in, It appears my CPU's maximum operating temperature is 71 Degrees Celcius, but that doesnt make sense, Even tho I have an aftermarket cooler, a case with a dozen performance fans on a very decent scheme and cable management, EVEN AT STOCK SPEEDS my CPU runs about 75 degrees or so. It drops down the multiplier as you see And here you can see it's current state while running Prime95
  19. I have recenty overclocked my Phenom II X4 945 from 3.0 Ghz to 3.7Ghz and been testing it on Prime95 since, after an hour or so under 100% load, (My CPU sits at toasty 89 Degrees celcius the moment 100% Load starts on both 4 Cores) I start to see massive power and frequency drops, My Power draw is 98.80W and I see it go down to 26W or so along with some cores dropping down to 987 Mhz. I never get any blue screens or freezes or stuttering, Is this a stability issue? Should I give more voltage or drop down the CPU speed? The default voltage of my CPU is 1.3v and it's running at 1.425 or so, I am overclocking with Offset voltage by giving it a +0.125000 range, Spread Spectrum is disabled, LLC is enabled and CPU/NB Frequency is overclocked from 2000 Mhz to 2250 Mhz aswell with 0.0875000v in Offset mode aswell. Is my CPU thermal throttling, or is it just unable to go this far? // I am using a Thermaltake NiC F3 Cooler // I have been using this CPU for a while and only recently I got an aftermarket cooler, The highest temperature I have seen a long time ago was 98 Degrees when ı went against 7 CPU-Experts in AoE III, which resulted in a CPU Overheating error, So the shutdown point is about 95-98 I guess. Another side note, GTA V also crashes randomly, which I assume this is the cause of it. CPU sits at 57 Degrees Celcius at idle and runs @3.7Ghz, And Voltages never seem to drop even tho it's in Offset mode
  20. Well, thank you, that's one less thing I have to worry about then!
  21. Memory tab is as follows: Not exactly a pro, especially on this matter where everything I look at shows a different speed, so 822*2=1644, it runs fine then?
  22. @FTL My Motherboard is an Asus M5A97 Le R2.0 and honestly I have no idea what XMP is
  23. Uhm, My CPU and my CPU/NB is overclocked right now. One thing tho, Because increasing my CPU frequency from 200 to 246, I had to drop down the RAM speed 1 step down (To 1639, you can see in the second picture, If I am to leave it on default It would have to be 1960mhz, which I hardly think that my RAM would be able to handle)
  24. Hello again, Been messing around with my system lately, overclocking whatever I could out of it, Pulled the cpu from 3.0 to 3.7, NB from 2.0 to 2.25 etc, one thing I realized during all this was my RAM speeds are inconsistent. I have 3x4GB GSkill Ripjaws 1600mhz PC312800 Ram installed on my Motherboard on the slots 2,3 and 4, first slot is vacant because my CPU cooler is interfering with it ( I use a NiC F3, a Non-interferance cooler, how ironic) CPU-Z Shows my SPD as 800, I know its *2 so its 1600. When I try Wmic MemoryChip Get Speed, I get 1333mhz as a result, parts of my BIOS is showing as 1333 aswell and some parts of my BIOS is showing 1639Mhz, Do you have an idea what is causing this? Screenshows below
  25. I saw CPU frequency on some cores drop down to 987~mhz and Wattage to 26W during 4-cpu testing period, the Benchmark took about 10 minutes to finish, forgot to add, the Core temperatures went down to 68 or so in 3 or so seconds as soon as the 4-core testing finished and went down to 1-core testing and went from there
