  1. Yeah,it went well,no issues what so ever, but the card itself was dying,so no help there :)
  2. Run the benchmark with MSI Afterburner turned off.
  3. I would say thats oil from all the thernal pads, basically nothing to worry about. If it bothers you, take some alcohol, carefully clean it and apply new thermal pads, having in mind they are the same thickness as the old ones.
  4. Nice Im getting 4.6 rock solid at 1.3V,gonna try that 4.95 later. How were the temps? Im using Enermax Liqmax 240mm radiator.
  5. Not directly tied to the topic in hand, but how far did u manage to oc that 3930k?
  6. It is a bit dated, but it doesnt bother me. When overclocked it works reaaally well with that 1080 Ti :),even at 1080p
  7. Managed to get a good deal for an AIO. Enermax Liqmax II 240mm,finally got rid of that unbearably loud 80mm EKL cooler, peace and quiet Temps are fine, dropped from high 70s to low to mid 60s at Aida64 stress tests while being soooooo much quieter.
  8. Yeah,it is from that period If I remember correctly,my father got it in 2003
  9. Yo! This thing went on hold, parts completely changed, but here it is,coming along nicely New parts list: Ryzen 3 1200(waiting for 2600) 16GB 3000mhz ram B350M Bazooka FSP 700w some RGB strips Thermaltake fans. Since this case has no cable management options at all,I will make some sort of a psu shroud out of acrylic, but on top, which will also serve as a 3.5" drive mount, boot drive will be some sort of an m.2 drive. Here are some pics
  10. bought my Gming X Trio 1080TI from a miner, opened it up,cleaned, replaced thr tim, works like a charm, and still has some warranty left. 380ish us dollars.
  11. In what position is your radiator mounted? I had some weird issues with the same cooler when mounted on top of the case. After moving it to the front temps got down for 50c. Maybe kink in the tubes,idk...
  12. Hi guys! Few days ago i built an old 3930k system for gaming. Tried some overclocking and managed to get it stable at 4.6 ghz at 1.28V. Using a mediocre air cooler temps stay around mid 70c while gaming,it idles around 45c. Game performance improved massively, everthing runs fine, but there is a thing that bothers me hahah. After running cinebench r15 im getting 1112cb at 4.6 ghz while stock 3930k gets 1090cb,which seems like a low improvement to me. Since this is my first encounter with HEDT platform, even tho its an old one i would like to ask are there any more things i can do in BIOS to improve that score, since there are many settings i know nothing about, and just make it more powerful hahah. Motherboard in question is Asus Rampage IV Formula,16GB 1600 ram and a HX1000i power supply. Thanks!
  13. Yeah,it overclocks really well till 4.6 ghz, after that it REALLY needs higher voltage which I cant cool with this cooler. Right now it sits around 70c,decent. Right now its around 15% slower in single core than my 7600k overclocked to 5 ghz. Also ran GTA V,Witcher 3 and both games run really well, suprisingly well actually ??
  14. Yep,definitely is. I believe its a polish company. Also bought one of theirs 500w 80+ bronze power supplies for a budget build I did,no issues there. Nice, flat black cables. Also did some overclocking on 3930k,managed to get 4.6ghz with 1.26V. Everything higher had a diminishing return, not much of an improvement but it required a LOT of voltage for 4.8ghz,and I am limited with mediocre air cooler. Performance in games improved massively. Project Cars 2,1080p,maxed out,230ish fps avg Titanfall 2,maxed out, engine capped at 144fps,no drops whatsoever. Gonna test some more games later.
  15. Its actually an AR3 A bit smaller one. Yeah,it was around 60 bucks,2 fans,2 rgb strips, fan controller, tempered glass, all the modern features which can be removed like the psu shroud etc,its great for that price.
  16. Yeah, those are still great! Ive been using a Xeon counterpart of the 4770 and it was the best cpu I used for that price. It was paired with a 1070 Ti and man, that thing was good...
  17. Thanks man! I had this laying around, need the PSU and a case, which can always be reused for other builds. Titan X was intended to go in but I didnt managed to get one which I was supposed, but if I did, that would be epic! And yeah,I think this 3930k still has some life in it
  18. Didnt cheap out on anything,if thats what really bothers you. Parts laying around.
  19. Here are a few pics of a build I did today,a bit unbalanced but will work fine Asus Rampage IV Formula i7 3930k 16GB Hyper X Genesis GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio Some RGB stuff ? Corsair HX1000i power supply Patriot Burst 240GB SSD Looks quite decent Future plans are getting an AIO and overclocking the CPU a bit,so I bottlenecks a bit less
  20. Not much of an update but here it goes. Had my 7600k OCed to 4.9 at 1.35v and I started experiencing higher temps than usual. It reached 80c really quickly so I decided to clean everything up. Not sure why but everything is back to normal, temps, dont exceed 75c on hottest core, updated the BIOS and now it finally hits 5 ghz at 1.35v with no issues at all. And yeahwhere, card is aircooled again, started overheating, mounting solution was not good,it stays this way until I figure something out.
  21. Sorry,ny first post was not entirely clear. I mean,I would love to own it,even tho its dead. I do have a soldering iron and pc building knowledge but not with tiny stuff on pcbs etc,and definitely not a steady hand hahahah, and I would definitely try the oven method.
  22. Hi guys. So I ran into an ad where the guy is selling a Titan X Maxwell card for 40ish bucks. Its "faulty" with description saying fans are spinning but there is no display output. There are no artifacts or anything he says. What are the usual things that make this happen? Weak PSU maybe,BIOS issues etc? I would buy it even if its dead, just to have a Titan ??
