  1. Hey guys, I'm looking at getting an AIO cooler for for my XFX RX 480 8GB. What would you guys recommend? Thanks
  2. Who says it has to be for gaming? I'm looking for the best budget build for her.
  3. Hey all, What would you guys recommend PC wise for my girlfriend? She is in school and she uses her computer to surf the Internet and play online games (Farmville, etc.) She has a budget of 425 US and she will be reusing her current 17 inch eMachines monitor. I plan on teaching her how to build a computer with this build - so an attractive and easy-to-build-in case is a must! She is going to be upgrading from an eMachines computer with a 2 GHz Celeron processor from 2010 that has 2 GB of RAM. I would appreciate the feedback!
  4. I ended up getting a RX 480 for my build, which I've completed! :-)
  5. Thanks! There was a time where I had a 60 GB SSD with Windows 7 installed on it and it barely cut it. After getting Windows updates installed, the usage was showing in the red (roughly 10 percent remaining of the capacity) - prior to having anything installed.
  6. Hey guys, What do you guys consider to be the sweet spot for the size of an SSD as a Windows 10 startup drive, especially when the system is going to have multiple drives? Thanks
  7. My budget for the GPU is $500 US. I've dropped $520 US in the system so far - with yesterday's Newegg Shell Shocker deal - a Deepcool Kendomen. The budget I have for the whole system is about $1500 US.
  8. Hey all, I've ordered some of the parts for a new computer, and I'm wondering what you guys would recommend to me. The parts I have ordered for this computer so far are: *CPU: Core i5-6600K *CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212X *RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2133 *Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3 motherboard I plan on doing gaming at 1440p with the system, GTA 5, League of Legends, Sonic Generations, and a few others. All suggestions are welcome, thanks!
  9. That is true - sure you can get an inexpensive Windows machine - but of course, it would be obsolete much faster than with a moderately priced Mac. However, I don't care for Apple removing the removable storage or soldering the RAM onto the motherboard
  10. There are a couple reasons I actually switched to Mac - as far as a laptop goes. I like that I can just power it on and have most things work with it. Sure, I don't like that it cannot game - but that's the nature of the OS, not the hardware's fault for that. I like that macOS / OS X is based on Unix - the terminal is very handy, especially when using the SSH protocol - I manage a Minecraft server via SSH. There is one thing I majorly dislike about Macs - they are very expensive. If you are going to pay so much for a laptop, wouldn't it be nice to be able to service it yourself if something goes wrong (Like for expanding storage - why would they solder the SSD to the motherboard - [Looking at the 2016 model]) Needless to say, I enjoy the ease of use, and much more compatibility than Linux has to offer (The only reason I do not use Linux on a day-to-day basis is the lack of compatibility)
  11. I don't plan on OC'ing the CPU any time soon. If it comes down to me having to OC - it's time for an upgrade
  12. Sure, that's not a problem Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-880GMA-USB3 rv. 3.1 AM3+/AM3 CPU - AMD Athlon II X4 640 Socket AM3 RAM - Kingston HyperX Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz GPU - Sapphire AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB DDR3 Storage - Kingston SSDNow 120GB, 2TB Seagate SSHD, and 1TB Seagate Barracuda Green HDD Case - No name, originally from a Socket A Biostar barebones kit Power Supply - Apevia 700W
  13. I'm ok with any brand. Part of the reason I have a Mac is because of doing work with Android Studio - (Gotta love being forced to use Intel VT-x instead of AMD-V for Android emulation)
