  1. So I’ve had my DELL P2417H for about 2 years now. I’ve recently noticed, that there is a dark spot on my screen. It almost looks like a smudge, but upon closer inspection I’ve discovered that it must be either a dead or stuck pixel. The weird thing is, that it seems like it’s not an actual pixel. The little greyish spot almost looks like it’s just not as bright as the others around it. The colour matches. The weird thing is, that it almost looks like the spot is actually under the surface of the screen, because when I’m moving my head around I can actually see like a parallaxing effect, so the dark spot moves independently from the picture seen. I don’t really know how IPS displays are layered, but does anyone have an idea what it could be? I’ll try running those “magical pixel fixers” but I don’t really have high hopes due to the nature of the problem.
  2. Hey, anyone knows what kind of IEM's Linus is using in the new Half-Life: Alyx video? I mean they look pretty custom and pricey so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to afford them. Also any recommendations between 100-150$ for good IEM's?
  3. So I started cleaning up stuff on my pc and I realised I haven't updated in a while (auto updates are turned off for some random reason). I updated today to the newest version of Windows and right after the first restart I had no signal from my GPU. Everything was working just fine before I began updating. I tried to update to the newest Nvidia drivers, but then I got the error message "this driver is not compatible with your current version of windows". Foolishly I uninstalled Geforce Experience and now I can't even reinstall it because it doesn't detect my card. I also cleaned my PC using DDU. I'm running an Asus GTX780, Windows version 1903, build 18362.356 Question is: What the hell can I do now?
  4. nevermind replied to the wrong thread I use this site so rarely i don't even know how to delete my post
  5. System was built in february 2014 Specs: i5 4660 3.4GHz, 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz, MSI H87i, Asus GTX 780 DirectCU II 3GB (bought early 2015), Corsair CX650M (originally had a 600W corsair PSU, which was replaced about 1,5 years ago due to failure), 120GB Kingston HyperX SSD, 1TB WD Blue HDD Unfortunately I doN't have the opportunity to test this card in another pc, I've completely removed all drivers and reinstalled them again. I'll start testing. Problem usually occurs during/after gaming session or heavy dual screen work. temps, usage, clock speed, power seems alright.
  6. About a month ago my PC started to randomly restart and I couldn't dig up anything from the crash logs, except Kernel Power 41 Critical Error which doesn't really help in this case. In the past 2 to 3 weeks the problem became more frequent, now tied with the display driver failed to start notification, right around the crashes which happen so: about a second long audio stutter, screen freezes, I hear the notification sound. The system seemingly continues to run, as I can still hear that I the games/movies are running. Sometimes my PC even refuses to start after such crash. As of now I've removed my video card which eliminated all problems so far. I've seen other people discussing similar problems but their solutions did nothing. I've tried reverting to older drivers, updating to new ones but nothing really helped.
  7. Hi guys I'm kind of bad at this whole networking thing. I've decided to upgrade my home(125m² apartment) wifi. Right now I'm using a fairly old single band Linksys router and a range extender but I'm not really satisfied with the results. Unfortunately I can only place the router in one of the corners of the apartment(really shitty cable job don't ask). I have about 8 devices connected at any given time. I might be able to take an ethernet cable from that corner and set up the extender with said cable in the opposite corner of the house but I'm not sure about that. Could you please recommend a router? I'm open to other solutions as well. Requirements: good coverage, about 50Mbps connection speed.
  8. So long the problem has been fixed by a reset. thank you for your help everyone
  9. Yes I understood that but that would be a pain in the arse because I don't know if I can install a 3rd copy of windows with the same serial as I did with my main pc and my other laptop and I don't really want to fuck everything up. Yeah I know pitiful problems. I just thought there would be a quick solution. Thanks for the help anyways
  10. So what do you reckon? I'm out of ideas. Maybe a factory router reset?
  11. Welp I'm sitting right next to it, and no other devices have this problem
  12. Ever since the creator update came out for Windows 10 my work laptop has been dropping my main home wifi. I have tried installing drivers, removing the access point from my list and re-adding it but nothing helped. The weird thing is, when I connect to my second network, provided my a TP-LINK range extender everything is fine, although it's the "same" network. Details: I have to wait for like 30 seconds to connect, the wifi bars appear for a couple of seconds, then the yellow triangle appears followed by disconnecting and the red X. I don't have this problem with any other devices or wireless networks.
  13. I'm already on the creator update and still having the same pop up problem.
