  1. Cheers all for the helpful responses. I don't really have a budget, on top of the cpu and mobo I need some DDR4 RAM too so its a case of saving up money each month. Not hugely interested in overclocking but if I need a new cooler then one is on the list down the line. Would an evo be fine on a bit of overclocking or is it something to avoid entirely?

  3. Hey all! Looking at upgrading my rather outdated CPU and Mobo setup. Looking at an i7 7700k and need to know about PSU's and cooling, pretty sure my stuff will be fine since I'm not overclocking but need advice from those who know more about this gen. GPU: GTX 970 2GB Current PSU: 750W Current Cooler: Cooler Master 212 EVO Will this be enough for no overclocking? Cheers!
  4. Are you after a desk mounted boom arm or a standard mic stand? I have the AT2020 and it comes with a mount for the mic which attaches onto any boom arm or mic stand. Sometimes you need an adaptor for the screw such as this (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tencro-8-Inch-Female-Adapter-Microphone/dp/B06WLQ9Z9J/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1502293275&sr=8-5&keywords=mic+thread+adapter) but they will always fit as long as you're using the correct mount. I've attached an image of one
  5. Good man they just make too many wrong decisions with the iPhone, android all the way!
  6. Yeah as I said in my other reply, a case that lets you charge an iPhone wirelessly and contain a battery in, doesn't exist. If you want to wirelessly charge it you can with that case, but to charge it non-wireless, you'll have to use a different cable plugged in elsewhere.
  7. Yeah it would be cool to do it from a distance, the only problem is that it would require a lot of power to transmit it that far. Just don't be one of those people that clings onto every leak they see and then criticises Apple when its not put in
  8. Oh yeah they all will. Sorry I misunderstood since the iPhone doesn't have wireless charging built into it, these cases hook up to the phone through the lightning port. The case will contain the necessary items required to wirelessly charge and the bottom of the case will go into the lightning port to give it power. Here's a good example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/LingsFire®-Wireless-Charging-Receiver-Protective/dp/B00WJN29PA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480006544&sr=8-1&keywords=iphone+wireless+charging+case
  9. Take things like this with a pinch of salt, leaks can sometimes be true, but considering how recent the iPhone 7 is, take it with a pinch of salt. Tonnes of people out there make fake videos to just get views and money
  10. Not always, some Mobo's do automatically downclock but some will try and run at the highest speed, which can cause blue screens. Just a thing to check is all. Yeah speed for gaming isn't really a thing. Main program that benefits from high RAM speed is After Effects, but games aren't affected.
  11. From looking around, you can't seem to get a wireless charging case with a battery in it. The cases that I've seen are pretty thin. A work around would be to carry a small powerbank around, maybe a 5000mAh? If you're getting a wireless charger for a car then you just need to make sure you can plug a USB into the car. Either through a direct USB port or through a USB to 12V Cigarette Lighter adapter. The wireless chargers run through USB, so find that and you're all set!
  12. From having a quick look online, you'd have to be sure that the splitter you're using can support both input and output. If its only an output splitter then a mic won't work. A work around would be to use a USB sound card adapter. Relatively cheap and generally solve the issue of combo jacks. Hope it helps!
  13. Yeah I agree, seems all fine looking at it. Have a look though, check to see if the Mobo can support the RAM speed. Other than that, seems a decent 1060 build!
  14. Haven't heard a rumour like that for the iPhone 8.. Currently no, you can't do it from a distance. The phone has to be on the dock to be charging (see Samsung phones for how this works). Before Apple work out wireless charging from a distance, they need to first implement wireless charging into iPhones.
  15. From what I've heard, wireless charging cases do work pretty well. As fair as I'm aware, a stand that can charge an Apple Watch and an iPhone wirelessly together doesn't exist. If you were cable charging the phone then yes these exist. You can use a wireless charger in a car as long as you can power it through USB (since that's how wireless chargers are powered). An important thing to remember is that wireless charging only works when the phone is on top of the dock. It won't work at a distance. So for a car, I'd say just stick with a cable. Because as soon as you take the phone off the dock, it stops charging. Hope it helps!
