    Think you got somehting mixed up here. It's not lanes but PCIe gen 2.0, and yeah you are fine.

    The versions of pci-express are backwards compatible, so a pci-e v2.0 card will run in a pci-e v1.1 or v1.0 slot.   Same for pci-e v3.0 cards, they'll run in pci-e v2.0 slots.

    Look for a used GTX550Ti or R7 250 or above. The GT710 is just a slow piece of shit. Either of the above cards are like three times faster.
