  1. i have used filescavenger on failed drives and recovered a lot. Don't know if this is going to work on a formatted drive.
  2. I once switched a psu to 115V with a tiny red switch on the backside. I thought it was for the fan speed of the PSU. Small detail, In belgium the powergrid is 220V so it went bang and all smokey and stuff. My parents still think it exploded on itself.
  3. Doesn't the system keep the bios settings when it's plugged in to the grid? Even when the battery is removed? I thought it only used the battery when the system doesn't have power.
  4. You need to unplug everything for this to work, so make sure your computer is disconnected from the grid. Once the battery is removed try to turn the pc on a few times so all power is drawn and gone out of the system. Then plug it back in. Everything will be reset to default. It probably will ask for the time and date when you boot up the system.

    Monitor -laptop

No, why would it interfere? lot's of people use secondary monitors with laptops
  6. You could build them yourself, but IMO in a company reliability is key to your success. So i would look for a vendor that offers quality workstations with an even better service. For example if something breaks that they come to your house and replace/fix the system the day itself. I know someone who works with those HP workstations, expensive but really good and reliable. Haven't got experience with other brands. So maybe there are better brands out there. These services however do cost a lot of money, and might not be affordable for a beginning company. If i would be running a start up i would build the system's myself, mainly for the cost saving factor. Just build the exact same computer for every employee and buy some key spare parts. This way if you have a failure, you can fix any system the day itself and be up and running again really quickly. As for hardware, i would go with some quality stuff, at least a qaudcore with hyperthreading. If you have the extra cash, buy xeon processor's and use intel's server grade chipset's. The workstation boards from asus are excellent for these types of applications. Get a nice large ssd in those system's so everything loads and runs extremely quick off those. Time is money in a company. Maybe an extra hdd for additional storage if this is needed. At least 8GB RAM, preferably 16GB, just futureproofing it and it will help with rendering speeds and multitasking. Get Nvidia quadro's or AMD firepro's for graphics card's, they will work flawless with any graphics program. They are certified for that kind of work. If you want a more detailed build, give us a budget for one workstation. You can always go better and more expensive, so draw a line to were we can go As for a server get something with at least 8 cores, lot's of ram, and for storage get a separate storage server and a good raid setup and you should be good to go. And don't forget a good UPS for your servers. If power goes down, you want to give those servers the time to shut down nicely. Be nice to your servers and they will be nice to you
  7. I quite like the node304 from fractal http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/node-series/node-304-black
  8. Sounds like a dying battery to me, it seems that the battery can't deliver enough power at once to fire up the system. Or it could be some stupid bios setting or software related. How much battery life do you get when it's fully charged and you unplug the AC connector?
  9. I'm rocking an logitech g400s, and i'm madly in love with it. Love this thing <3
  10. Can you take a picture of your mobo? Because i have this funny feeling that it is going to be a custom mobo, that is pretty much useless. Weird form factor, even weirder pci slots, etc, etc,.... I would just get a new mobo, will save you a lot of hassle.
  11. I have a sony surround system, 2 back speakers are wireless, but it's going to cost you. Good qaulity solutions are expensive. https://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/BDV-E970W
  12. That's like no problem at all? I'm using 2.5GB aswell and i have 8GB RAM. Wouldn't worry about it.
  13. From where have you bought the case, and can't you use the warranty? The shipping in Belgium get's payed back if you return it for warranty.
  14. For the servers: What software do you want to use for the production, testing and file storage? And how much space do you need to store files? I highly suggest already that you get at least one 10GB NIC on the server if 10 people will be using it at the same time. Are the employees going to work directly off the server, or store their project locally and then upload it to the server?
  15. Try using mullvad, you can use it for free three hours at a time. And you don't need to give them any information. Your ping might be awful though. https://mullvad.net/en/get-started/
