  2. Hey All , I have a lenovo X260 which i bought for an incredible price :) Issue i have is I have always been able to save by buying a laptop with good specs but terrible screens, i have always just upgraded the panels is they ship with only HD. I am completely stumped by this one i have bought & returned 3 X 1080P screens for this laptop and none have worked, had the most luck with 1 of them only powering up the backlight ? Anyone ever heard of the LVDS cable being the reason a 1080P screen wont power up, i have never had this issue before and it cant be 3 screens, is an LVDS cable only able to push a certain resolution ? if someone has an X260 with factory 1080P could they give me thier model number so i can try a new cable ? https://store.emprgroup.com.au/lenovo-1128-ThinkPad-X260.aspx
  3. Really old post but if anyone else is stuck , but just got a gigabyte aorus B450 pro wifi MB. Started with BSOD's every 5 - 10 minutes (IRQ not less or equal, Driver power state failure) , then finally VGA debug light on all boots, just the aorus logo on screen would not go past, mouse and keyboard acted like they were working red laser light on mouse, numlock lit up on keyboard but could not hit any F12 or del buttons, drove me crazy, tried 4 graphics cards RX580 RX570 HD8000 something series i think Nvidia Geforce 730 Low profile as i thought it was power issue. Swapping display cables in and out was a big mistake HDMI cable pulled monitor over thanks lenovo for building a great monitor on a tiny little stand not able to properly support the actual screen and now screen is cracked :( wonderful right? , for so many years i was not an idiot screen cracker, now ive joined them :( it was the PCIe Samsung Pm961 m.2 SSD causing the VGA light, i have no idea how, after i removed it, it booted up no issue. installed windows on old HDD with ssd removed updated to the latest gigabyte BIOS ver 41 i think and now all is working very well, no debug lights. Samsung SSD is now also the boot drive and works flawlessly. Need a new monitor, but all least the PC works i just cant use it now without being connected to the TV :( BIOS was F5 out of box, then during BSOD's i was able to get to f32 flashing in BIOS Qflash, then after ver 32 the VGA light no post issue happened.
  4. didn't think og benq, looks OK actually.
  5. hmm i did have a LG29SGH or something awhile back, mass effect had the bottom cut off during game play so i couldn't follow the story & choose game options. i used some crap application for apparent ultrawide fixed gaming, it just made it worse. was thinking about going to a LG ultrawide again, but i cant play my favorite games with it. Yes peeps my next monitor depends on can it play mass effect 2 & 3 with perfect visuals.
  6. i do still have to work from home sometimes, so the but in webcamera would be really cool
  7. Hey Peeps, Need a new monitor to replace my current 24" Not interested in 4K, mass effect 2 & 3 don't work correctly in it, they are my favorite games of all time, and i just restarted 2 from the beginning Im looking for 27 inch, 2560X1440 will work fine i think. im looking for something that will last a few generations so, at least 1 HDMI At least some kind of display port don't want something ridiculously expensive that will be 15 generations old by September. I usually stay away of anything Acer, i worked at Toshiba during my very first IT roles, and the jokes are still in my head when i walk past anything Acer. Philips seem to be trying to get into monitors here in Aust, and some are kinda hard to go past without thinking OHHH that could work. i am seriously thinking of this https://www.scorptec.com.au/product/Monitors/25plus-inch/69471-272B7QPTKEB Has anyone had a Philips monitor before what is quality like ? back when i was young philips stuff was like apple is today , has it changed is quality still good?
  8. Will get the same motherboard, looks like it supports 6th gen as well, just with 2133 ram max
  9. Will the I7 work OK in a different brand MB ? will i gain any performance ?
  10. Hey All , Am looking at building a new PC this year. i currently have Xeon e3 1246 & MSI gaming 7 MB for home server, this absolutely destroys my i7 6700 dell XPS 8900 used as gaming desktop, even though its like 4 years old. My next build "Must" be xeon based. my question is are these compatible ? https://www.pccasegear.com/products/39461/intel-xeon-e3-1230-v6 & https://www.pccasegear.com/products/37614/msi-b250m-bazooka-motherboard Will they work together, i cannot find a yes or no. The motherboard must be MSI brand, & CPU Must be a Xeon I will be hopefully putting it in this https://www.pccasegear.com/products/39596/cougar-conquer-aluminium-atx-case
  11. Firstly power off the PC. remove the power cable from the back press and hold down the power button while counting to 60 without power cable in. remove the RAM from the PC. Put it back in, in the correct way some are color coded to show how to put it back in correctly (same color) also make sure you hear a click on both sides when putting the ram back in. (you should not have to use force) Look for a clear CMOS button or switch at the back of the IO panel or on the motherboard itself press it. if you are confident do the below. open up the case and remove the coin battery on the motherboard. wait 5 mins. put the coin battery back in. in safe mode uninstall all asus stuff on the PC no asus software or drivers should show in installed software. don't try to install any drivers or software, let windows use the default drivers. BIOS options should show or configured like below. legacy usb support enabled, intel xhci mode disable ehci hand off disable usb full initialiazation if that fails test ubuntu live from usb, if ubuntu works its windows thats the problem, and you may need to re-install.
  12. can you load BIOS defaults ? usually in BIOS press F9 then F10 to save. in safe mode uninstall any and all Asus software reboot.
  13. https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?77967-Maximus-VIII-Hero-no-USB-power-on-boot seems like Try changing XHCI hand off to ENABLED in the BIOS. It's under Advanced/USB config. Does that make any difference? I have a secondary drive installed with Windows 7 on my M8H and have not experienced this yet. I have however experience it on a Z97 Pro and understand the frustration. If that doesn't work and no one else has a viable solution the sure fire way to correct it is moving to Windows 8.1/10 as they support XHCI/USB3 natively. fixed it
