  1. I don't have another PC I could test it on as the only other computer I have is a Lenovo p52 which is a laptop
  2. Yeah I checked the back panel USB ports and all of them work fine
  3. Yeah I downloaded and installed all of the drivers from the manufacturers website
  4. I don't think a misalignment is possible especially because the port I'm talking about looks like this Edit also the connector only goes in one way and there is no adapters so it's a USB3.1 header going to a USB3.1 port
  5. I just built my computer and I noticed that the Type C port on my Case isn't working I have tried replugging the cable and I have tried different things plugged into the port but I am unable to figure out what the issue is and how else I would go about diagnosing it. Case: Lian Li 216rx Motherboard: MSI B650-P Wifi Parts List:https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vfYsbK
  6. upon reloading the page the seller adjusted the shipping price to roughly the discount so it is no longer saving any money
  7. So I was browsing PcPartPicker earlier today and I stumbled across this Antec High current Gamer 650w power supply for $34.87 which is ~66% down from usual obviously this raised some flags for me as usually you don't see this steep of a discount when it comes to power supplies. but when looking that the seller page the seller doesn't have too many bad reviews and the ratings are on par with the ratio Best Buy has on Amazon. But when cross referencing this PSU with the LTT PSU Tier List I noticed that the 2018 variant of this PSU was particularly bad receiving only a C which is pretty low for an 80+ gold PSU but any of the other years following seem to be fine. So what is your opinion on this also does any one know much about amazon buyer protection about 3rd party seller? TLDR: Antec High current Gamer 650w is ~66% off but 2018 variant is supposed to be bad but any years after that are supposed to be good what is the likely hood of this being old stock and does Amazon have any buyer protection for 3rd party sellers? 8. I think your local classifieds ie facebook marketplace or craigslist are a good place to look I was able to pick up a GTX 1070 and an enclosure for $250 a couple months back Note: this was in the period right before the RTX 3000 series was going to launch
  9. that seems like an older android thing because I don't remember having to install an app to transfer photos even on my samsung A71
  10. I understand that Zen 2 can reach 3600MHz but what I was saying is that he may have gotten a weaker RAM controller so his ram may need a bit more voltage to reach the desired speeds although I wouldn't do this unless you know how much voltage DDR4 can take edit: RAM controller not CPU controller
  11. your phone may be in the mode where it uses your computer for charging only if that's the case look in your notifications for a notification saying charging only and see if taping on that and changing that to either transferring images or transferring files fixes that issue if this doesn't fix the problem try another USB cable or USB port on the computer
  12. It maybe that your CPU's memory controller can't handle those speeds which is apart of the silicon lottery so you may need to manually plug in voltage, timings and frequency in to your motherboards RAM OC section to get it running at speeds close to the ones advertised.
  13. you also have to consider overhead for the systems that they are going to add on to the plane that will also use internet and the number of planes per satellite hence why I think that that estimate is a bit optimistic.
  14. in my experience the lower end MSI laptops don't hold up as a couple of my friends had them and they fell apart in the span of 2 years as for acer I don't have much experience aside from a laptop from 10 years ago which was alright except for the laptop's hard drive died suddenly 4 years into its life span
  15. If you have time I recommend trying to get an RTX 3060ti for MSRP which should be around 1/2 that price. Also I would recommend you run a storage pool setup(this requires getting one more drive than the capacity he needs) on those drives that way if a drive dies he doesn't loose his data. Lastly I would also recommend getting a motherboard with better VRMS on it as a 5900x may push that board past its limits.
  16. I would agree with this statement if you use your computer to hold sensitive information, but if you still want to do so I would highly recommend running DBAN on the HDD before selling it that way it is significantly harder to recover any information off of the drive
  17. Because Thunderbolt requires a specific chip to be built on to the motherboard the outlook on the Asus Zephyrus G15 getting this feature later looks pretty grim. but over all I still think that the Asus Zephyrus G15 is a better laptop as long as you don't need a web cam
  18. It shouldn't be a problem I ran a Radeon HD 7950 near 80C for a couple years and faced no problems although this isn't optimal 60-70 should be perfectly fine
  19. one method I used was connecting one PC to the other using an ethernet cable then making the drive shared over that local network that should improve your performance by a significant amount
  20. I would change the CPU to a 5600x those come down to MSRP ($300) occasionally and to make it fit in the budget I would downgrade that cooler unless your trying to make your system as quite as possible which then I would downgrade your motherboard to a b550 and as boggy said I would also look into finding your key from another seller I use other website aside from ebay but you can find these for around $30-$40
  21. it can be heaven, superposition, or valley Usually when these programs crash they give an error code if it isn't related to gpu and memory clock stability issues
  22. can you try and run one of the unigen benchmarks and tell me if there is an error code as that could help
  23. then that is even more likely to be the problem as one of those installs may have messed up some of the files that don't get uninstalled using the uninstaller so a clean reinstall of the driver would be the best bet
  24. it could also be drivers for that I would also try reinstall the drivers using DDU
  25. I would try checking the graphics card drivers and if updating fails I would do a full reinstall of the drivers using DDU to remove the drivers
