  1. Hey everyone, my recently-bought (untested) HP 810 Revolve doesn't want to power on. any time I connect the Original HP charger I get a light near the charger port, when the battery is out it's blinking red, otherwise a steady red one or steady white one. all this time the laptop doesn't have any reaction to the power button (which is a slider, but it works, checked with a multimeter). I've taken out the motherboard and a few seconds after I plug in the charger to the bare board the QM77 chipset gets so hot I can't touch it. could a reball save this board or should I hunt for a new one? Edit: it's an 810 G1, specifically
  2. last time the laptop was dropped the hdd died and I replaced it. It was working alright since then, I wasn't there when it was turned off last time but I think it was shut down normally. oh, and now that I phoned that friend, he said that he went to some service guy and he said it's the inverter whatever the hell that is and that it'll cost 350 złoty (PLN, about 80 euros) to repair and that's a bit too much for me right now...
  3. @VVoltor I can't turn it on at all lol forgot to mention the main reason why I came here
  4. Hi, I recenly got a laptop from a friend of mine. It was all good to the last moment but all of a sudden it stopped charging. Even the little LED signaling the charging doesn't come on and the power supply is not the problem because I've tested it on a few different ones. Any ideas? I can solder and I do a lot of DIY stuff so I can disassemble it. EDIT: IT CAN'T TURN ON I FORGOT TO MENTION LOL
  5. oh yeah and I've heard that 7x00 cpus can run on 100 zeries mobos... well, I'll consider it
  6. I bought it this summer so yeah...I guess I'll have to dial it back AAAND one more thing... I only get 685cb when on some sites this cpu at 4.5 gets 750 or so
  7. ummm it was at 4.4 with 1.4V for a long time now and I just wanted to go a bit higher
  8. Hi guys, I'm wondering about something. I'm trying to OC my 6600k as far as I can on air cooling (silentiumPC Fortis 3) and I can't get over 4.6 GHz because of the insane voltages that it needs to be able to run stable... I mean 1,5 V to achieve 4,6 GHz and 1.46 for 4.5... why is it like that? my motherboard is an MSi z170-A PRO (I misspelled it for POOR the first time), it was the cheapest Z170 board with ddr4 support I could find... the funny thing is that I cant find it on the MSi website... I tried overclocking with my BIOS and intel's XTU but both have the same results... oh yeah, and the temps never exceed 71C. What am I doing wrong? or is it just that I've lost the OC lottery?
  9. ok I'm back... after I installed those drivers it seems to be running ok... rebooted a few times and it seems ok. thanks
  10. oh whatever ok i've tried both and now it booted at 720p for the third time and I decided to give it a go and I noticed that geforce experience detects it and i'm installing new drivers now... let's see how it works...
  11. well, it's just a matter of three screws so it's not that hard
