  1. As soon as I turn the laptop on it says: no device detected. Even when I use a windows installation disk it says that there are no device where it can be installed on. When I connect it via an exteral hdd circuit board on my own pc, it does recognize.
  2. Hello, I'm helping a friend of mine with his laptop (acer asprire E1-571), his HDD died so I wanted to give him a small surprise. Got him a Samsung 860 EVO 500gb, but the laptop just won't recognize it. Tried my own Samsung 850 PRO 256gb, the laptop does recognize this drive. So I really don't get it. What I've already tried: 1- tinkering with some bios settings 2- Do some powershell things with the drive: Diskpart Clean Create partition primary Active Format fs=ntfs quick Assigned label But it won't help at all. Anybody got some advice on how to configurate the 860 evo 500gb that it will be recognized? Kind regards!
  3. Still waiting for a Passkey to get mailed to me... Already waiting for hours.
  4. Hello guys, I'm not that experienced in the audio department so I've got a question: I'm going to buy new headphones (after 6 years of usage my Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro stopped working), I already have an Audioengine D1. Are there any problems if I want to combine the Beyerdynamic DT 1770 Pro with the Audioengine D1? I've noticed the thing has like a 250 ohm impedance. Thanks in advance Specs for both products: Headphones: https://global.beyerdynamic.com/dt-1770-pro.html DAC: https://audioengineusa.com/shop/components/d1-24-bit-dacheadphone-amp/
  5. For 500 euro, just pick yourself an Intel Core I7-8700k.
  6. He bought a 1080ti, so I think there is a good budget (probably). I would go high-end if you've already purchased a 1080ti. So I would take a 8th gen i5 or i7.
  7. I have seen this problem before, eventually I solved it doing this: 1- Turn pc OFF 2- Switch PSU switch to OFF 3- Press power button 5 times 4- Switch PSU switch to ON 5- Turn pc ON Solved that for me.
  8. They are 2 times as high, so you can stick way more memory in motherboards that only have 2 slots.
  9. 1- Why take a i5-8400 over the i5-8600 when it's just 10 euros cheaper? 2- I prefer to not take a Kingston A400 as they are pretty crappy 3- You went 144 euros over budget 4- Motherboard was ONLY ASUS (said that in original post)
  10. Netherlands, that's why it all has to come from www.azerty.nl.
  11. Hello guys, I'm helping somebody with collecting components for a pc we're gonna build. Budget = 1000 euros (max 1100) Everything has to come from www.azerty.nl (due to warranty) All the prices below are edited to the prices that Azerty is selling them for. The currency is euros, not dollars. Explanation about the choices I made: His pc is strictly for gaming, so I wanted to go Intel, also he's not that much into AMD. He has 0 pc experience and pisses his pants when he hears the word 'overclocking'. 8600 = non-k, cuz he isn't going to overclock. Hyper 212 = no overlock, so there isn't going to be excessive amounts of heat + the netherlands isn't that much of a warm country. Asus Prime B360 = Just a basic mobo, we went for Asus because I prefer asus mobos over any brand else, never had problems with them + bios is nice + build quality is high. 16gb 2400mhz= 16gb for futureproof gaming. 860 evo = simple boot drive 1tb barracuda = 1tb game storage MSI GTX 1060 = he demands that it's a NEW gpu, so his budget won't be able to get a 1070. Sharkoon case = ugly as fuck, but his pc is standing in a place where you can barely see it + he doesn't care about looks. Corsair RMx 650w = I prefer to take decent/high-end PSUs so you can use them for more builds. And because I think buying good PSUs is a good idea after all, I won't go any lower on quality than this... Do you guys think this is this best build for the budget? 12. It's okay to use liquid metal but it's a good idea to use transparent nail polish to put on the parts around the die. So you can't short those components out. But still I'm not sure if I would do it on a laptop
  13. When you expect it that it might be your gpu drivers: -Start by using a program named DDU. (https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html) -Download and install new drivers from nvidia. Just uninstalling them through admin panel isn't complete enough to be sure It's a good point to start your troubleshooting journey.
  14. Off topic: After the 950 PRO Samsung already released the 960 PRO and even the 970 PRO On topic: You're right, cheap M.2 SSDs are SATA and not PCIe NVMe.
  15. It could help you a little bit when you reach temperatures near throtteling. But besides of that, I wouldn't apply liquid metal. Risks are definitely there.
  16. I would say level 6, maybe, just maybe, level 7. Kidding, its defenitly 'high-end'. 8700k, 1080ti, 16gb of ram. Ofcourse it's high end.
  17. Normally a gpu only doesn't fit when your case isn't having enough space for it, so check the site of your case for a "max gpu length" spec and compare this to the length of the card
  18. I've had something similar like this; MalwareBytes took care of it with relative ease
  19. I can give you some options, for a SSD that you can connect? 1- Transcend SSD360 2- Transcend SSD370 3- HP SATA 2,5" 4- Sandisk Z400 Those are small (32GB), cheap SSDs in my region (The Netherlands)
  20. It was just as an example, to show him what he should be looking for and the way it connects.
  21. It's an M.2 drive. Those use connectors on your motherboard. The protocol is still "sata", but the connection is different. "M.2 SSD Solid State Drive"
