  1. Here are the build results. 8700k, 64gb ddr 4 corsair ram, gtx 970 that was lying around for now, and the asus hero x motherboard.
  2. Yeah I had already read that part.
  3. I know this card has 3 display port outs and 1 hdmi. Can it run 4 monitors? I'm currently able to do it with older cards. I just want to make sure before I spend the money on it. Some cards have odd limitations.
  4. One of my machines has a R5 1600x. It's worth finding a 4790k, it's much better.
  5. After some research.. the 7900x and 1950x are pointless. In fact, adobe products will perform worse on these cpu's. The 7700k and 8700k are the best route to go and much cheaper. Makes me a little sad, I wanted to build some crazy thing. Turns out it's absolutely pointless. So.. 8700k it is. Anyone still interested in this topic, here are some reading materials. https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2411358
  6. You will have to do some research, because I don't recall exactly how I did it. However, there are a lot of hidden options in advanced power settings. Do some googling, there are ways to get the hidden options to show up. It's a registry editing experience.
  7. The real question is this. Is the 7700k actually a better cpu for these work loads over the i9 line and thread ripper? Data seems to support that thought. Further, this system will get a titan xp as well.
  8. Well, I use active speakers, so they are powered. 'Studio Monitors' Here's what I later learned. I was using unbalanced cables, that's what let the coil whine come through the speakers. Switched to balanced cables solved the problem. I was then able to stop running my cpu so hot.
  9. Mine ran just fine. If the coil whine doesn't come through your headphones or speakers, I would change nothing. My coil whine came through my speakers, it was awful.
  10. There's not likely anything you'll be able to do about this. This happened to me once, not from drop-age. My solution that did work on that computer, running the cpu at full all the time. This never made anything bad happen, though I'm not telling you to do it.
  11. Are you hearing this noise from the computer itself or through your audio source?
