  1. hi, can yall recommend a small, quiet, am3+ cpu cooler for a smaller case? (bitfenix prodigy M) I have been using the stock cooler.... And I have to say it's really loud!! Anything below 60 bucks is fine!!
  2. Hi, I'm going to college next year and I was just wondering: Is this the best laptop for its price point? (1300 USD) I'm going into computer engineering, and I was just looking for a gaming laptop. This computer seems to have the best internal specs out of all the stuff I've been looking at. http://www.amazon.co...G GL551JW-DS74 I prefer MSI and RoG.

  4. Hi guys, I've rounded down my college laptop search to these two models: MSI G Series GS70 STEALTH-037 17.3-Inch Laptop: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JKCHRXC/ Specs: http://www.msimobile.com/level3_productpage.aspx?cid=10&id=473 ASUS ROG GL551JM-DH71 15.6" Gaming Laptop w/ GeForce GTX860M 2GB GDDR5 and Optimus Technology: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MMMMMX2 Specs: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/G551JM/specifications/ And can't decide on which one to get when I go to college. Which one's better, and why? It seems as if the ROG laptop has a better processor, but the MSI's main argument is that it has another drive bay for me to install a SSD, whatever. Screen resolution/display quality is important to me. Which one's takes this fight?
  5. Hi there guys, I was wondering if you guys could recommend me a laptop with a good CPU (i5, preferably i7) and a discrete GPU, with at least 8 gigs of ram? Also, a SSD would be a plus. I've applied for computer/electrical engineering and was hoping that you guys could tell me a good laptop for school? Also, I prefer either MSI or Asus laptops. The Lenovo Y510P looks pretty good too, but I don't know if it'll be outdated by this August/September. Under or equal 1300 USD please. Thanks!
  6. Hi there guys, I was just making a build for my bro, and I wanted some feedback on the combo. It's in the title. The pricing is already set, so could you guys tell me which one would be more viable/give more bang of the buck? Thanks. The games that he will most likely be playing are: Starcraft 2, Borderlands 2, Skyrim, Arkham City/Origins, Far Cry 3, Bioshock Series.
  7. nevermind, i solved it. Changing fan speed manually did the trick
  8. hi there guys, i have a bit of a problem. So here I am. Anyways, when I play Borderlands 2 or Arkham Origins, after I play for 5 minutes or so, the computer or screen freezes completely, with vertical lines running across the screen . Is it MSI afterburner's fault? I have checked the temps right before it freezes, and it usually hangs at around 50 degrees, which should be completely normal. Why is this happening to me? Could it be MSI afterburner's fault? Will it be better if I crank up the fan speeds manually with AMD catalyst control center?
  9. Hi guys, I'm running a Fx-6300, with an Asrock 980DE3/U3S3. I'm using the NZXT Respire T20 at the moment. I've overclocked it to 4.0 ghz and ran prime95 on it, and the min was 19C and the max was 60C. It's averaging at around 55 when it's running. Is this a good, safe overclock?
  10. Hi there guys, I was just wondering if pressure is bad on the CPU? The CPU cooler is NZXT Respire t20, which was gifted with the case, the NZXT Source 210 elite. I can put the side panel on, but the copper pipes extruding from the top of the cooler is one or two millimeters poking out of the clearance area. Is it ok to just stick with it and leave it as it is, (where the case is slightly pushing on the cooler) or is pressure on the CPU bad? (The CPU is the fx-6300)
  11. Should I get an 120gb ssd, or a 1tb HDD? I'm currently running a sata 2 64 GB ssd that I had laying around. Should I buy an 120gb sata 3 ssd, move my OS onto there and use my old 64gb sata 2 ssd as extra space, or continue using my 64 GB ssd and buy a 1tb HDD to house as extra space? I'm most likely filling them with games/work data.
  12. Yea ok. I live in Taiwan I've cut everything to the bare minimum already, i'd be very surprised if you could still cut stuff down CPU AMD FX6300 4G-1600 M5A78L/USB3 /ATX/IDE/USB3.0/ R7-260X 1G DDR5/OC /20.3cm NZXT Source 210 Elite CX430 V2 This is the fx 6300 and the r7 260x CPU AMD X4-750K 4G-1600 FM2A75M-DGS R2.0/M-ATX/1A1D/U3S6 R9 270 2GBD5-DH/OC /2G DDR5/19.8cm Silverstone PS08 CX430 V2 and this is the x4 750k with the r9 270. reference site: http://coolpc.com.tw/evaluate.php
