  1. Could this be due to the motherboard, or the RAM being 2400 mhz?
  2. The build is 19045.3324 Sorry for the late response, I had given up for a while, but its very annoying so I need to find out how to solve it
  3. Hello! Does anyone know what the bottleneck is here for running Adobe Illustrator? I run into lag spikes where the software would basically freeze, and then update every 2-3 seconds until it clears up again. This usually occurs when I have PDFs open (like detailed building plans). At first, I was capping out at 16GB RAM, so I thought that it was the issue, I upgraded to 64GB and now the system doesn't use any more than about 20GB... So although it may have been a bottleneck at the time, it no longer is. GPU and CPU should be all good, however, when I had another look at the CPU usage, I noticed that the spikes you see on the CPU screen from the task manager happens at the same time. So it may be related to the CPU. But I thought that the CPU is good? What am I missing here? Is it just an Adobe Illustrator thing that restricts hardware utilisation? I am running the latest versions of Adobe, and Windows 10.
  4. Oh, I see. Its a misunderstanding from my end. I understood 6GB usable/available as A TOTAL of 6GB on the PC. But the reality is that it's actually 6GB LEFT for usage out of the total 16GB, as 10GB is already in use. Wow chrome uses heaps... Just a bunch of tabs draining away at RAM. Good to know. EDIT: Thanks for the responses!
  5. Hello, I just realised that my task manager is reading really low numbers for the RAM, but a high % usage of it at the same time... Why is it that my 16GB installed RAM only has 6GB usable?
  6. It says 3200 for me, so its probably working, with the BIOS having some issue reading or displaying it there as Kilrah mentioned
  7. Hmm, I don't see the point in getting an NVMe if it wont be able to run at its potential. Might as well get a high performing SATA since it will be the same or very close
  8. XMP is already turned on. The image was apparently before that tho Basically, I came across a bunch of differing numbers everywhere. The DRAM Status was showing 2133, while the "Memory:" above it was showing some other number. I made some changes, changed some other settings to 3200, and then enabled XMP and saved it. The image shown in first post must have been before I made the small changes. These images show the current settings:
  9. Hello! Thanks for the response! One last clarification: What's that BIOS thing about with the option to change between "SATA EXPRESS" and "M.2", along with the booklet suggesting that I change something before installation?
  10. Hello, I recently decided to visit my BIOS 4 years after building my PC. I noticed that the RAM is shown as 2133MHz, while the RAM I have installed is actually supposed to be 3200Mhz... What's going on here?
  11. Hello, I want to upgrade the storage capacity on my custom built PC. The MOBO is: ASUS Z170-AR, and I currently have 2 SSDs and 2 HDDs connected via the SATA cables. TLDR: Can I add any M.2s onto it without any issues? Longer version: I believe that this MOBO can support up to 6 SATA connections. My MOBO also has an M.2 slot, so I was about to purchase an M.2 when I realised that there are two versions of the M.2: SATA and NVMe. Along with that, I spoke to a friend of mine who claimed that some M.2s disable SATA connections. Attached below I added an image of the MOBO (in blue) writing: "SATA6G_56." So, does inserting an M.2 disable SATA connections 5 and 6? Does it completely disable all of the SATA connections? What's going on? In my BIOS, I also have the option to swap between "SATA Express" and "M.2." It's currently set on SATA Express. The booklet also talks a little about it shown below. I am new to all this M.2 stuff so I have no idea what's going on... Please help! PS: From what I understood: NVMe is a faster version of M.2 that may not be compatible with some MOBOs. Can mine support it? If it can, will the SATA interface cap it to SATA speeds (6Gb\s)?
  12. Our currencies may divide us, but we are united by our passion for IT! Also, I landed on these: Samsung EVO 860 500GB SSD + Western Digital 2TB Blue HDD
  13. Could this be caused by dust landing on the GPU's ports or gold plates? Could it be MOBO problem? Or a SATA cable problem? Why do I ask this? Because re-arranging them sometimes stops the monitors from connecting. Wtf is going on
  14. Oh no... So this is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4DjDZf I recently formmated my PC and bought a new 2TB HDD and 500GB SSD. My PC was running fine, but after I installed the new HDD & SSD (where I had to take out the GPU and reinstall it) and after rearranging the SATA3 cables for all the drives, the PC lost its connection to my monitors. I uninstalled the new drives (and GPU so I could reach the SATA ports - then reinstalled it) but it didnt help. So I removed the GPU again and changed the HDMI cable from the GPU port to the MOBO port and it had connection again. I checked the power requirements, which is apparently around 460, but my PSU offers 650 so it couldnt have been due to power either. I spoke to my friend about this and he said that it would be risky to reboot with the GPU incase it was fried (and would damage other parts). What can I do in this situation? I've had the GPU for about 2 years and it has never given me a problem before, so I doubt that it was damaged, especially because it suddenly happened and I am afraid to test it in case it really does damage the other parts. Could this all have something to do with the installation of the new drives? I honestly don't know what is going on and I'm in panic. I can't sink another $700 for a new GPU Please if you have any troubleshooting methods or ways of getting the PC to boot with the GPU let me know
  15. There were some real issues with this, but it was solved. First thing was that I attempted to fix any corruption with the windows files which were found and fixed, but that didn't fix the problem. So I wanted to format, but now I kept getting an error. So I put windows onto a USB, booted from USB, formated the drive from the Windows on the USB and reinstalled it onto the drive through there too. Everything is now back online.
  16. I couldn't care less about RGB, especially for internal hardware that you cannot see lol I usually search in PCCG and buy off of MSY Could you suggest one?
  17. So recently I was browsing some SSDs and came across this Team T-Force Delta It is: 1 TB $199 AUD ($136 USD) Read/Write speed: 560/510 RGB if people are still into that lol https://www.pccasegear.com/products/48706/team-t-force-delta-max-argb-ssd-1tb Isn't this a great deal? Disclaimer, I don't know too much about SSDs. But that price for the amount of storage and write speed really got to me
  18. Added notes: The external hdd doesn't appear on diskpart.exe & Disk Management I can't find any solutions for this online either as all the f*king tutorials assume that it does appear there. Just a reminder that the external hdd still works on my laptop. Just not my PC. I am almost certain that its some sort of a driver issue, but Toshiba doesnt appear to offer any drivers (at least for my model) [https://storage.toshiba.com/consumer-hdd/support/product?model=HDTP210XK3AA] I really want to avoid formatting my PC, please help
  19. System restore points are all after the issue, so I can't do that either
  20. I have two existing HDDs: 1 SSD, and one HDD which I think are showing up in Disk Drives. However, the Toshiba doesnt seem to appear there, unless the libusbK thing is it
  21. Hello, my external/portable hard drive is no longer recognised by my PC. I have tried to move it around different USB slots but none of them work. I tested the hard drive on my laptop and it DOES work on it. So I think something went wrong with the external hard drive's drivers on my PC. Maybe it got corrupt. Is there any way I can update or fix my drivers (or the issue in general if my analysis is wrong)? Extra Info on External HDD: - Toshiba - P/N: HDTP210AK3AA - DTP210 - 1TB EDIT: Some context: I recently tried to install software for my PS4 controller (so it works on PC - it turns out that it doesnt need software for that, my bad for not trying it before ) but I believe that while it was installing the drivers, it somehow messed up my External HDDs ability to connect to my PC. It could also be a coincidence so I dont know
  22. Reinstalling Windows fixed everything.
  23. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if it does. Since it seems to be based on chance, it's not something I can immediately test The FPS is still locked. Would there be anything else I can try while waiting to see if it has improved? And by the way, are the CPU readings and info I posted at the top normal? I will also try to reinstall windows. Hopefully, I don't run into any troubles with the key for it.
  24. I spent 3 hours trying to get the first option of installation to work and after repeated failing, moved onto option 2 (installing via usb) which completed it in 5 mins :') Anyway, BIOS is now also up to date. Most recent was 2018 (I was on 2017). What else can I do now? EDIT: Thanks for your time, I really do appreciate it
