Macbook Air 2015 supports 4k 60hz monitors
creativename replied to MadSprite's topic in Phones and Tablets
Even if it changed to IPS 99% of people won't be able to tell. Pointless feature, the viewing angles are still decent on the air. And that better color argument shouldn't even be there, 99% of people can't tell.- 22 replies

Macbook Air 2015 supports 4k 60hz monitors
creativename replied to MadSprite's topic in Phones and Tablets
Well the new macbook is more for pushing USB 3 type-c. Though I wish they just implemented it into the macbook air instead of creating a new line of macbook. I would have been fine with the magsafe port thing replaced with a usb type c and the rest of the I/O staying as it is.- 22 replies

Macbook Air 2015 supports 4k 60hz monitors

The battery life is amazing on the macbook air. 12 hours of usage? 30 days of standby? That just shows how efficient mac os x is. And apple already stated that touch screens are stupid on notebooks and will never happen. But I guess they also said 7 inch tablets were stupid and the ipad mini came out.- 22 replies

I have a BenQ XL2420Z, the difference in smoothness is night and day vs a 60hz monitor. I got so used to it the 60hz looks choppy, its unplayable for me now. Doesn't mean that 144hz made me a better player at anything, I wasn't able to get past LME on CS:GO no matter what high end hardware I used, and LoL takes no skill anyway, so diamond 1 isn't something to brag about.

It's about as legal as stealing a car.

Lol, a 144hz screen will never improve a person's playing. All it does is provide a smoother expeierence, even in CS:GO, all a 144hz monitor can do for you is give you the slight edge in seeing the other person faster, but if you're terrible, it doesn't make a difference. It makes even less of a difference in MOBA games. Since MOBA games, especially LoL take absolutley no skill, why do I say this? I was able to achive diamond 1 in LoL in the first 4 months I played the game. The game was incredibly easy, and I did it all in a shitty IPS 60hz monitor, on the cancerous stuttery mess.

Nvidia Pitches Advantages of G-Sync Over AMD's FreeSync

1. Hardware solutions will most likely be better than software solutions. That's all these is to it. -
Galaxy S6 less bloatware then even vanilla Android phones.

Actually stock android has a bunch of useless apps I'll never use. Such as all of the play media(is that what they're called?) apps. I'll never use google music/books/video ,etc they're just a waste of space. -
Looking for Simple Keyboard With Brown Switches
creativename replied to tman2damax11's topic in Peripherals
Ducky shine 3 was a great keyboard, I was sad to see that they don't make them anymore. Needed a replacement for my filco. -
While I did state which I preferred more, most of the post was me describing how they felt.
-
for a moba? It will look smoother, not going to make you play any better. It's not CSGO where every single frame matters.

I have gotten 6 keyboards with Green, clear, red, black, brown, and blue switches. I will give my opinion on all 6 switch types, and try to describe how they feel, because alot of the descriptions I see from people are way off, such as "browns are like blues without the noise" is not true at all. Cherry mx red/black They feel about the same, blacks require a bit more force to push, but its not that big. The difference is not that big. I typed faster on the blacks. Clear/brown Honestly, they don't feel very good. I'm not sure how to describe this, it feels like a defective blue switch or a red/black switch with a misshaped plastic in the middle. The feedback is barley there, and its actually more annoying then anything. I forgot I was even typing on browns most of the time, it felt closer to reds than any other switch. Same for clears, it felt closer to the linear switches. I'm not sure why this is popular, or how this is a good compromise. It felt alot better typing on the linear switches then these "bumps". Green/blue Even if I ignore the noise, the click is there. These switches defenitley have a clear feedback unlike the clear/brown switches. They feel nice to type on, greens feel a bit better for me, but I guess I like heavier switches more. Greens aren't any louder than blues, but I hear a different click on the greens, might just be my brain playing a trick on me, but the green has a crisper click noise. Overall.... I think I prefer the black switches over all else. And I least prefer the brown/clear switches. They just don't feel good. They don't have any sort of useful feedback, it just feels like you're using a linear switch, and then the key gets stuck halfway through, and you force it all the way down, and it comes back up. They feel terrible IMO.

OEMs Allowed To Lock Secure Boot In Windows 10 Computers

The new UI is better with a mouse and keyboard. Have you actually tried using it on a touch screen? It's not a great experience. Its much more efficient to use a mouse and keyboard + shortcuts/hotkeys -
Your cable might be going bad. What other inputs does your monitor have?

Any proof of that? In the beginning it might have had alot of issues, but most of those are fixed. -

If you're not going to use linux, who cares? WIndows 7 is an old OS, nobody should care for it. -
Should I get a 430W PSU or a PSU above 500W?
creativename replied to Vozella's topic in Power Supplies
There are reviews, like really detailed reviews online. The soldering on the CX units are a mess. It won't blow up or anything, but its not a great unit by any means. I guess you get what you pay for, but for that price, EVGA has better units. -

Both of those are pretty low quality PSUs. -

How much should I pay, or would you pay, for a CPU cooler?
creativename replied to Vozella's topic in Cooling
for i3 i would just use the stock cooler. -
650w is a stupid wattage for modern consumer hardware. its way more than a single GPU would ever use, and not enough to max out 2 graphic cards.
