  1. I checked Ryzen Master and there is indeed a massive difference in speed reports. Sometimes in Ryzen Master it would be 800Mhz and in Windows would be showing 3.7-4Ghz. That's a huge difference.
  2. Ok I was just using the system information to see the stats, but I'll check Ryzen Master to see what it says.
  3. I've got a 3700X and a Gigabyte Aorus Master motherboard. When I had an Intel Cpu it would automatically underclock well below it's core speed when you are not doing much, but with Ryzen I find that it does not drop below 3.6Ghz and often will idle between 3.6Ghz - 4Ghz. Is there a way I can get it to drop below the core speed when I'm not doing much? I have set the Minimum Cpu to 5% but it does not seem to make a difference.
  4. With most Mobo's you can't just put in the these add in cards wihtout the thunderbolt header being available on the motherboard. So you need these cards and the header unless I'm missing something.
  5. Hi, Since there is no thunderbolt header for the Aorus Master, is there any other way I can connect a Tunderbolt device like the UAD Apollo Mk2 device to this motherboard? Either through an adapter (Thunderbolt 2 to USB C) or an add on card that will work. https://www.uaudio.com/audio-interfaces/apollo-twin-mkii.html
  6. Oh damn, do you have an idea why? Type of ram or motherboard maybe?
  7. Are these timings too slow for 3600 ram or should I rather try and get 16 CAS timings? DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Timing 18-22-22-42 CAS Latency 18 Voltage 1.35V https://www.newegg.com/global/za-en/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232869?Description=G.SKILL Trident Z Neo&cm_re=G.SKILL_Trident_Z_Neo-_-20-232-869-_-Product
  8. That's what I was thinking originally, but not sure how hard it will be to overclock the ram. For instance if I get the 3200, could I get it to 3600 or 3733 easily?
  9. Hi, I need some help choosing between these 2 ram kits. G.Skill Trident Z Neo. I'm going to be using this new system for productivity working with big Photoshop files, composing music which uses thousands of samples etc. Will the 3600 make a difference for me? Should I consider getting 3200 at CAS 14 for extra $300? DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Timing 16-18-18-38 CAS Latency 16 Voltage 1.35V OR DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Timing 16-19-19-39 CAS Latency 16 Voltage 1.35V Here are the links: https://www.newegg.com/global/za-en/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232855 https://www.newegg.com/global/za-en/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232865?Description=G.SKILL%20Trident%20Z%20Neo&cm_re=G.SKILL_Trident_Z_Neo-_-20-232-865-_-Product Thanks.
  10. Does anyone know if G.Skill Trident RGB 64Gb of 3200Mhz ram will run fine and at the proper speeds on a Ryzen 3700X with a Gigabyte Aorus Pro board? https://www.wootware.co.za/g-skill-f4-3200c16q-64gtzr-tridentz-rgb-series-64gb-4x16gb-3200mhz-ddr4-cl16-1-35v-desktop-memory.html
  11. Hi, I do sound composing which uses thousands of individual Wav sound sample files that get stored into ram or get streamed straight from the SDD/HDD. Often 30GB or more per project. The question I have is will the bigger cache on the 3900X (70mb cache) make a difference over the 3700X (32mb cache) for this task? Like will it make a difference in speed etc?
  12. Don't look at the Spec listing. It doesn't list the Thunderbolt header. If you look at pics and watch the videos where people go through the board you will see there are Thunderbolt headers on some of the boards called "THB-C".
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the "Gigabyte X570 AORUS PRO" also has a Thunderbolt header.
  14. Hey thanks for pointing this out. I would never have seen it since they don't even document it. I'm assuming you can just use the Gigabyte thunderbolt add-on card for it?
  15. Wow this is not even in the specifications on the official webpage. I saw it in a video where it's hidden. Not sure why this is not mentioned. Are there any other Gigabyte boards that will have this header? https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X570-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10#sp
  16. I do Music Composing and most high end Audio Interfaces use Thunderbolt like Universal Audio Apollos.
  17. I've been looking through the new AMD X570 motherboards and it seems that only the Asrock Motherboards support Thunderbolt 3 either directly or through an expansion card. I know that Thunderbolt is an Intel system, which means it needs to be licensed, but I find it kind of strange that only Asrock is supporting Thunderbolt 3 and not the other main manufacturers like Asus, MSI, Gigabyte. Unless I'm missing something of course.
  18. Definitely the NEW Razer Blade 14 please. I'm a full time musician and this would really help me to be more mobile, which would allow me to record and make music anywhere. The added bonus is that I would actually have a chance to play some newer games because my current graphics card is a Nvidia 250 GTS. This alone should give me some extra points at least Help me Linus, you're my only hope.
